Just a heads' up - the USA remake premieres tonight. They already released the first 12 minutes which is very similar to the original Norwegian.

The acting is horrendous, but the sex scene is much better than in the Norwegian version.

I don't think the acting's bad, but that was a bit of an underwritten pilot.
The boys are steamy together though. Lukas knows how to dryhump. Philip's got himself a stud.

I haven't had time to watch the pilot yet. Though I really like the actress playing the sheriff. From the little of clips I have seen, the boys works well together.

The remake deserves credit. I was very afraid USA would downplay the gay relationship but they have actually embellished it far beyond the original. The pilot itself had two gay love scenes (as opposed to one in the original).
As for the blond actor, it's not his natural hair colour, and his father is Bill Paxton - which may or may not have contributed to his casting. But I am glad we are past the days when celebrities would never support their sons taking on gay roles - think of Kim Zimmer pulling her son Jake out of ATWT when his character Luke Snyder was to be revealed as gay. (Now he is playing a gay character in Animal Kingdom where he has rough naked gay sex.)

I think the gay storyline is much better in the American version, but acting and script were better in the Norwegian version. There are too many wtf moments in the American version. I didn't like Philip filming Lukas while having sex for example. It made me feel sick. It was just a stupid plot point. I feel the plot was stronger in the Norwegian version.

I don't like how Philip is constantly being trodden on and taken for granted by Lukas. They won some good will with that first episode, and then their date, and the show itself has some good points, like Julianne Nicholson and Tyler Young as actors, and the uncanny resemblance to the character's mother, but I think most people are only really watching for the boys. I was (am) a Philip, and I wouldn't be standing for what he does. He could find a (rich) city boyfriend in a hot second.
The case DID get a bit more compelling this last episode though.

James Paxton *Jpax @jamespaxtonyo · I hope everyone enjoyed #Eyewitness tonight! Lukas makes up for everything by the end of episode 6 so don't despair. #Eyewitness #Philkas

James looks great with his natural hair colour. Not sure why it was necessary to bleach it to such a pale blond (or is it a wig?) for the show.
Yeah Lukas has a lot to make up for.

Perhaps because his character in the original show has similar hair? Or maybe they wanted to have a clear difference between both the boys since James and Tyler both have dark brown hair? (Like how on the show Veronica Mars to differ from the two boys, Duncan was always in blue and Logan was always in green) Or maybe they thought since Lukas is into motocross and hiding the fact that he's gay, that him changing his hair like that was a form of teenage rebellion stuck in a small town where he has to hide and lie about everything that's real to him. And he just needed something to break up the stillness of the life he faced everyday before the murders ruined it all. I just assumed it was a teenage boy being a teenage boy. I remember in my highschool days for a while, a huge portion of guys in my class all had that look with their hair bleached like that. Some it looked ok on, others like Lukas (James) they looked better with their natural hair.

Yeah, Lukas looks much better with his regular hair. His light blonde hair looks so fake.

I wonder if the show made it look bad on purpose? Lucas is such a messed up kid before the murders even happened. And it shows him not being true to himself or being real with this clearly fake hair coloring on the top of his head.
Though with the way the lighting is with the show it doesn't do any wonders for the look of the hair either.

just watched and Lucas is such A coward he could have left at the gun and and cabin story but he had to make things worse and blame Philip for stealing from his dad and doing drugs what A total tool, there would be no going back from that I could not forgive him

I think Lukas has a lot to make up for. Personally, I think what he did was pretty unforgivable. The whole cabin and gun denial is somewhat understandable because he is deep in the closet. But blaming Phillip for the stealing and drug is just pouring salt on the wound. However, since this is a TV show, they will probably make up by the end of the story.

Seems like they are going with the route where Lukas comes clean to being at the cabin, but not the fact that he was there with Philip. I am giving it another episode or two before he actually comes out.
