I want to see when Simone becomes the Day walker Me too. I'm not sure when they're going to do that because that happened on the ship, and according to Aldertree the ship has been abandoned. So who knows when that will happen. The timeline is all weird, and I know that they're bringing Sebastian in this season. My guess is they want him to happen sooner rather than later so they resolve the whole incest issue more quickly. My guess is it will be in the season finale . I wonder if we'll also see Idris this season. I feel like this season will be some sort of mixture of City of Ashes and City of Glass. I also want Simon to get over Clary, so we can start shipping him and Isabelle. There hasn't even been a hint of that yet. I think because they turned him earlier than in the books, before admitting his feelings for Clary. that changes the trajectory a bit. It's weird that the two of them don't ever talk. My guess is that Maia will help him get over Clary, before anything happens with Isabelle.

I happen to save his life after Valentine drained him I'm not sure what you're responding to. Did you read what was in the spoiler tags? I'm trying hard to prevent accidentally given important plot points away and I think the various things that happen to Simon throughout the series are major. How and when they happen are the only things I think will change.

They look like work friends grabbing a beer at the pub across the street. Where's the romance?
Idk, I'll say it again, I find them such an odd match. Where's the heat?

Maybe we should add a thread for Shadowhunters where folks can talk about Spoilers particular what happened in the books? I know the show and books are not identical but since we don't know which things from the books will be written into the show I would prefer to avoid any discussion of the books just to be safe.
I try to avoid spoilers and it's hard in this thread (or any discussions about Shadowhunters on Youtube) cuz folks who have read the books are very liberal in discussing book details.
There are so few things that actually come as a surprise with all the teasers and promos and such that is can be hard to remain unspoiled.

Haru, I think this coming episode is actually where the new show runners episodes take over. So there may be a change in tone from here on out. While I've enjoyed the interaction between Alec and Magnus in the first few episodes, I agree there is something different about this scene. I mean we see for the first time Alec starting to let his guard down with Magnus and it has nothing to do with Jace. It's him being open and hurt and needing someone and he doesn't turn to his usual support system, he turns to Magnus.

I went ahead and created a sub-board for Shadowhunters so you can discuss book-related stuff elsewhere. From here on out please put only general discussion related to the TV show in this thread. Thanks.

Somehow I was not at all surprised that the warlock took advantage of Clary's desperation. It really was not a good sign that Clary even considered trying to raise her mother from the dead, though to an extent I can't say I'm surprised that she did consider it. I like that Alec went to Magnus for support. I kind of wish their scene had been a bit longer, but it's a good start. If they're going to try to be a couple they do need to start relying on each other more. I'm actually surprised that Simon "came out" and told his mom that he's a vampire so soon. I expected that to get dragged out for a while. I don't think she believed him ... until she saw him with the rat. What a way to get caught. Somehow I don't expect her to react well, but I hope she does so he has someone to confide in. I'd love to see him try to explain this whole other world to her.

I liked the part with Alec and Magnus too. I just wish all the Malec scenes weren't shown in advance. If they were just short teasers I'd be okay with it, but I feel like so far every Malec sneak peak has been pretty much exactly all we saw of them in the episode. I hope going forward we get more.

I am loving the relationship between Alec and Magnus. From what I've heard from my daughters (who read the books) the relationship so far is a complete departure. And from what they have told me, I'm glad the way the show has thus far decided to handle the relationship. Aging Alec up was a very good idea as he has a level of maturity that book Alec lacked. I like the open communication between them. I like that after the kiss last season they weren't automatically turned into a super couple but we are actually getting to see the relationship grow as they get to know each other better. We don't often get to see the awkward conversations all couples have at the beginning of a relationship. I like that Alec decided that wanting to be with Magnus and the possibilities it opens for him were more important than being intimidated by how many other people Magnus has been with. I'm sure at some point the whole immortality thing is going to be an issue for them, but it doesn't have to be an issue right now as they hare just beginning the relationship.
Two things:
Does Magnus' apartment not have a lock on the door as people seem to be able to get in and out whenever they please?
And
Really Jace....really...

I agree. I loved Alec & Magnus' conversation about the number of ex’s, lol. They're both uncomfortable but for very different reasons. I also liked the decision at the end: Alec started walking away but decided to try to get past it. They are different, but it is worth the effort. I agree that the difference in mortality would become an issue eventually. I liked Simon and Maia bonding. It's good for Simon to not be quite so fixated on Clary. So apparently Rafael could erase Simon's mom's memory. That's probably a good thing considering what she saw , but Simon does still need to actually tell her the truth about himself. So what is Aldertree’s game... It feels like he has a negative agenda.

I was a bit shocked with the 17 - then laughed when Alex questioned with 1700 then 17000.
Still not enjoying Clary and Jace.
And I agree Zathras - Simon and Maia were a refreshing change of pace. The show did a good job showing them bonding - and I think Simon really needed a friend in the community (so to speak!) that he could relax with and befriend without all the issues that Clary et al. bring to the table.
Aldertree bothers me as well - basically hooking Izzy on the drug is just not cool. Especially since it ruined her dream of visiting the Iron Sisters' home.

I'm really enjoying watching the Malec relationship play out on screen. As a reader of the books I always felt that there was little development of how the two came to be a couple, and we only had hints of them until the relationship became public. I feel like the show runners are really giving us Malec fans what we were missing, even if it doesn't fit with how the books played out. Aldertree clearly has ulterior motives. I can't figure out what, exactly. I don't think it's for the clave, but I also don't think it's for Valentine. He seems to have a problem with the Lightwood family, and I wonder if there is a history there.
