Man, I miss Todd and Billy, but they have just been so painfully dull and unused lately that I just can't muster up much interest in watching day to day. They were so good last year, and it felt like there were several threads of storyline that just got completely cut off, so much so that I almost wonder if the show or CTV did react to the homophobic complaints and decided last minute to scale way back on them. Todd makes a massive mistake in the whole business with the Bishop and Billy breaks up with him, and then they're back together within a week or two without any real explanation for why Billy is willing to take him back or any working through what Todd did and why. Billy later quits his job, surely a huge, life-altering decision for him, because he feels that he can't live his life as a gay man with a partner in hiding... and then for no real reason he decides that in fact he can have both the Church and his relationship and he just goes right back. Todd is upset about the job thing for ten minutes, goes to use the toilet, and when he comes back out he's fine. Everything with Billy obsessing over rescuing Shona was completely nonsensical, and other than Todd still sniping at her occasionally, there's really been no purpose to any of it. And since December, they've barely been on screen at all.
Maybe something will pick up with the Adam stuff but I'm not really counting on it. Seems like for all that Kate Oates said that she loved Todd as a character, she's shunted him, and Billy by extension, to the backburner.
