BTW, can anyone explain to me why so many fans go gaga over Billy? Yes, he's very attractive, but it seems to me that he's attractive in a very generic, fratboy-ish kind of way. He certainly doesn't have the memorable looks of, say, Nick's dark brooding expression, or JT's twinkish delicate features. (And to stray off topic, just visually speaking, how hot would those two be together?) And in terms of both acting and storylines, he's sort of middling - neither terrible nor memorable.
I see people claiming he's one of the best actors in daytime, and can't help thinking: really? I mean, REALLY?

Ahahahahaha!
I just read Soap.com's daily update for Monday, and here is what they wrote about the Adam/Rafe scene:
"Inside the room, Adam tells Rafe that he just couldn't handle the idea of him suspecting him like everyone else. Adam turns away dramatically and tells Rafe just to forget what he said about having feelings, but Rafe pulls him nearer and strokes his face! Adam tells him he should probably go before his father comes in. Rafe says he knows about Heather, and that the world sees him in a certain way, so if he's feeling at all confused... Adam thanks him as he leaves, saying he'll be in touch. Adam then immediately calls Heather, saying, "Heather! I need you!""
No mention that there was a scene break in there, or of them putting their clothes on. It sounds like Rafe stroked Adam's face, Adam told Rafe he should leave, and the scene ended.
This is beyond just not reading between the lines. They deliberately omitted information that actually WAS on screen to give a false impression of what happened! Are they expecting to be able to edit out all of the gay from this storyline? Crazyness!
It also mentions him making love to Heather, even though that was equally off-screen. It does, however, not mention his desperate or frantic demeanor. You could be forgiven for thinking it was just a random, throwaway romantic scene.

I have created threads for each of the actors who are portraying gay characters on Y&R in case folks want to read background info and interviews or see photos.

I see people claiming he's one of the best actors in daytime, and can't help thinking: really? I mean, REALLY? Billy is a slut. That will always have some appeal. Billy was a popular character ten years ago. When the original actor (David Tom) left, he was recast and lost most of his quirks, becoming a stupid, boring man. When Billy Miller took over the role last year, he came in with lots of buzz because of his short term work on All My Children as a psycho named Richie. Billy was supposed to be the new bad boy with a heart of gold. That struck a chord with some viewers. He was also supposed to be a rival to Cane, who was at the time a prissy type of generic leading man. Since then, Billy has spent months doing nothing but sleeping around, cheating, lying, screwing up, feeling sorry for himself. Then when he married the woman who had recently had his baby, the show had a chance to finally make Billy grow up, but instead they brought back his teenage sweetheart, Mackenzie. So now it's all about Billy and Mackenzie mooning over each other, and Billy looks more ridiculous than ever. Billy Miller is a good actor but he doesn't do well at emotional scenes, and he doesn't connect well with some of his co-stars. Most of the writing for the show's leading men is very shallow, and most of the actors struggle.

Thom Bierdz makes his first appearance on The Young and The Restless Today For everyone who is not a long time viewer of Yo& Restless and who are unfamiliar (as I was) with the history of this character, I've included the content from the Wikipedia entry for " Phillip Chancellor III" in the "Thom Bierdz" thread. I found it to be very, very helpful and having the background info makes some of the future events make a lot more sense. SPOILER Text HereThe story of his return (and possible involvement with Rafe) seems more plausible knowing how young he was when he left and how little time he actually spent in Genoa City as a teen. Also, he apparently married out of guilt and because of his son (he was drugged and seduced by the mother to get her pregnant). SPOILER Text Ends. Anyway, the actor has a very interesting and sad past and I watched some early clips on Youtube of him, I feel like I have a faint memory of him from my grandmother's afternoon Y&R days. All the names of the characters are very familiar which is so weird...

woowoo1(Highlight with your mouse to read....) Some sources say yes, they've seen that in a clip. But Other sources say they don't know. And yet other sources say it was changed and they won't. So...in other words, no one knows for sure yet! ;D Thank you so much for the info!! ;D

Just a super off-track discussion. I wonder if you guys know that the actress (ie. Tammin Sursok) who portrays Colleen Carlton used to be a music recording artist when she was based in Australia?
Here's the music videos for the 3 singles she did. I love "Whatever Will Be" (which is later covered by Vanessa Hudgens on her album)

harmoniumMaybe you could start a thread for Tammin Sursok and remove the stuff from here and put it in that thread (there are already separate threads for Yani Gellman and Thom Bierdtz) That way this thread can stay on topic (gays of daytime, etc) Just a suggestion.

As long as it doesn't overwhelm the topical discussion, I don't see anything wrong with an occasional tangentially related post. I think it would be less cluttery than creating a new thread for every little thing that will probably only ever have the one post to say about it. I would prefer separate threads only be opened for things that people discuss a lot, that would flood the main thread (like those major actors). And, of course, spoiler threads, which are a special case.
This is, after all, the general discussion thread.

^True that. I'm just posting a trivial (for anyone that is interested). It's not worth starting a thread about her given that she most probably will not be part of any the boys' storyline.

I just saw the new preview clip, but there's something about Phillip 3's hair that kinda irks me. Is he wearing a wig? It looks so unkempt and fake. Hehehhee.

The general discussion thread is for all characters and the related actors on the show. The main gay characters (and the actors that portray those characters) have their own threads for more in-depth discussion, photos and whatnot but discussion of anything on & related to the show goes here.

Yeah floatilla, I totally agree.
Tricia Cast, as Nina, is knocking it out of the park, and Katherine and Jill's scenes were great too. I liked the one they had with Cane as well. Thom seems to be getting his groove back too. Good job by everyone!

after watching today's ep, i'm seriously praying Rafe is not falling for the Adam BS. Rafe is supposed to be an intelligent lawyer, can he really not see that Adam is just using this to throw him off. ugggghhh...that is seriously more annoying than the off-screen kisses.

Rafe and Phillip 3 would not make a good couple. If they do engage on a relationship, then that would be the end of the soap for me!!!!

Thanks for posting Bononbochick, and thanks for the clip bombayhighway! It's evil. It's politically incorrect. And I absolutely love it. I laughed my ass off today at least three times. Adam practicing how to dump Rafe had me near crying from laughter. And then? He had to do the exact opposite! ;D Michael Muhney is rocking this out. Lord, please let Rafe not be falling for the bullshit!

OMG tihkon2 I am so with you on that one. Its so not PC I love it. Watching Adam try and wiggle his way out of these situations is hilarious... ;D ;D ;D
I am so loving the S/L.... which makes me wonder...how will they wrap it up? will Heather find out? And how will he do damage control after Victor finds out? Makes for an interesting summer....

Michael Muhney did an interview for AfterElton: www.afterelton.com/people/2009/7/michaelmuhneyHe was very skillful in his handling of some of the controversies. According to the comments, he's even braved some of the messageboards where he's being roasted by CE's diehard fans in an effort to talk to them. I'm not sure if that's class or craziness, but it's awesome.

davedovty Thanks for posting the interview!! Michael Muhney seems like a very pleasant person. A man with his own thinking and not afraid of expressing them. Hopefully his stay on the show will bring on more pleasant surprises.
