News about BQ! He's doing the rehearsals for a new play, "La síndrome de Bucay", that opens in February 4 at the Teatre Gaudí in Barcelona, and lasts until March 28. This is the link: www.teatregaudibarcelona.com/gaudi/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=57&Itemid=1Some words about Gaudí and Bucay, before talking about the play. Gaudí is the most famous architect in Barcelona, and his moslt popular work is La Sagrada Familia (the church of the Holy Family). The Teatre Gaudí is near this building, so it has the architect's name. It's a teater like the other ones where Bernat hs been doing plays. Bucay is an Argentinian psychologist that uses tales to help his patients to find the way to happyness. He has published several books of tales that are very popular in Spain. Many of theese tales haven't been created by him, but he takes a tale and uses it for helping people in a way that is new. He creates something. "La síndrome de Bucay" talks ab out Santi (played by Bernat), a strecher-bearer who falls in love with Rosa (Aida Oset, Eli at El Cor), a girl who was reading a book by Bucay in a bus. Santi is a very romantic person, he has a very high idea of love. He's very different from a man who works wiht him, Robert, a more realit person who has an idea about love closer to the ground and the land. He loves the western movies. Well, another charactger played by Bernat related to health, hospitals and so on! The play talks about different ways to see life and love, but there is a tale by Bucay that is important in the story>: "The tale of the clock stopped at seven". There is something special: La síndrome de bucay was played before in Versus Teatre (where Bernat played Bufals). But them, Santi's character was played by... who? David Verdaguer, Joan Serafí in El Cor!. It's as if Max/Bernat followed Joan/David's steps! By now, David Verdaguer has jumped to a commercial play, a comedy headed by Llol Beltran ("Laura") and Joan Pera, who appeared in El Cor in the season 7 living wiht Sr. Felip (Enric's grampa), Trini and I think Sr. Juan (Oscar's grampa). He's a very popular comic actor in Catalonia. "La Síndorme de Bucay" played by David Verdaguer was succesful. And for this reason, it's played another time in otther place, by other actor, Bernat Quintana. Past november, David and Aida had an interview at Tvist about this play, and showed sobre pictures. Also talket about what each of them had done in TV3 (but they didnt show what he did at El Cor, really important for Max as character but not for Joan/David). This is the link: www.tv3.cat/videos/1650829And this link shows in the same page "El Mal de la Joventut and La síndrome de Bucay, when both were played past november: capdegrop.blogspot.com/2009/11/el-mal-de-la-joventut-bucay-i-vacas.html

Thanks, Keith, for all what you have done! Sure, I'm posting here what I know about El Cor's actors, specially about Bernat and Marc. Bernat is opening tomorrow his new play in Barcelona. But he has already done some perfomances, for exemple in Cardedeu, a village near Barcelona. In YT there are two clips of the local TV about "La sindrome de Bucay". In the first one, there are some scenes of the play. The second one, "La entrevista", is an interview with the 3 actors and the director/playwriter. They explain the play (more or less, what I have already posted about it when I had put the link with the Tvist interview with "Eli" and "Joan Serafí" about the play. These are the links: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpuCqOsQiIAwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr-eVUy_1rYBernat and Aida said about El Cor that it has been useful for them, to become profesional actors, to learn the profession. About Marc, Eva is puting in the Catalan forum pics she finds at internet. I think he starts to shoot the next season of FoQ in March, and now, he's going to sites to promote himself as a famous person (and have better roles as an actor). And also in charities, as one for Haití. Eva did a collage with pics of "Marc for Haiti", and put it in the Catalan forum: forums.ccrtvi.com/viewtopic.php?t=106957&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=6780More news: Nausicaa Bonnin (Sandra, Oscar's sister) has won the best Catalan actress in the Gaudi awards on Catalan movies, and it's posible for her or the film to win something in the Goya awards on Spanish movies. The film is "3 dies amb la família" (3 days with the family). She also founded with his brother in El Cor, Enric Rodriguez, a company of theatre named "Cambalache". This is the lilk about the company: www.cambalachecultura.com/companyia.htmEnric is still very busy studying at IT with Bernat, but several actors and actresses of El Cor are preparing a play named "La musica", by Marguerite Duras, in a production of "Cambalache". Played by Maria Molins (Isabeleta, the Rafa's eternal beloved in El Cor) and Oscar Muñoz, that played with Bernat Q. in Bufals and Lleons. And the voices of Montserrat Carulla (Teresa, Ivan&Narcís's grandma in El Cor) and Mirian Marcet (Julia in El Cor): www.cambalachecultura.com/encartell/lamusica.htm

Max Carbo is one of the kindest, gentlest and handsomest characters I've ever seen. He is so sensitive and soft and beautiful from inside out. I absolutely adore him. Max stood through everything and gave everyone second chances. Bernat Quintana portrays Max so well.

Thanks for the links, Carmela! That clip of Bernat was great -- he looks amazing. Didn't understand much of the dialog (partly because of the sound quality) except that it was Spanish, not Catalan. Great video -- thanks.

Hi, Dorothy!
In that video, Bernat is reading a paper with the character he's playing (as a proof). He plays a man who has a beautiful girlfriend, and the conversation is about what he thinks about her faithfullness (or not!), about what he would do if she was't faithfull. He's sad and serious because he is't sure about her behaviour, he doubts about her.
More news about Bernat:
In 2007 (during El Cor's season 8!), he shotted a short movie (21 m.), "Miércoles: Scorsese". This short is being showed now in different short festivals in Spain. Director and actors are Catalan, but it was shoted in Spanish and I havent watched it still because it was showed in Madrid, but not in Barcelona, or in Catalonia. I wish I can see it. Of course, Bernat was there very different from now, he has the look of Max in the beguining of his relationship with Iago.
Bernat plays the son of a man with a terminal cancer. A drama. But there is a character that makes him to know things about his father that he didnt know. It's a special day in a restaurant, a Wednesday. (I dont know its relationship with the great director, Scorsese).

Well, I hope people to find this threat here! Two more clips about Bernat: this one is in the Bcn Ciutat Neutral's web page: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkne1QIXh80&feature=player_embeddedThis another one was discovered by Patty. It's about the play Molt soroll per no res (much ado about nothing) that I'm going to see with her in April in Girona. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYMMYmsC4wYRight now, Bernat is doing the rehearses of Les Tres Germanes (The three sisters), where he plays the captain Poliony, and that opens next March 9th.
