That's right. Have not been able to find it anywhere. Hopefully someday. I imagine it would only be available if someone taped it since it was a TV movie, probably never put out on DVD.

I like the character of Max in El Cor especially now that he is together with Iago.

Hi Bernatfan1, I wan to know the age when Bernat started in El Cor. Basing from the pics, I think Bernat begun in this soap at a fairly young age.

I am a fan of Max and Iago and I am voting for this couple. Ollian still tops on my list but this couple is now a close second. I think with this exposure, Bernat and Marc will have more international fans. Thore and Jo Weil are now basking in the glow of international exposure and Christian and Oliver tandem is now the most popular gay couple. Sorry NUKE.

I am hoping that with the great storyline of Max and Iago at El Cor, Bernat and Marc will attain the similar recognition.

Thanks for the rest of the pictures. It does look sad, but it also looks like Bernat had a pretty dramatic role, so I'm sure he showed off his wonderful acting skills! It's too bad we can't get hold of it. I also wish we could somehow find Cámping, the tv movie he was in from 2006. Have you checked out that one at all?

He's supposed to be 21, same age as Bernat in real life. Max is a medical student, so yeah, he's supposed to be in college.

Could someone help me with character history as I try to catch up?

Max was raised by a woman named Lali and an adoptive father, then Lali died and the adoptive father drowned. Beni is his "real" father?

Where does Clara fit in? And was she in prison with Berta?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I tried to skim through the forums where I thought it might be addressed.

I can't really tell if Clara is really her mother or stepmother. She was in prison because of drug dealing. It was in prison where she and Berta became friends. I still have to verify though. Pardon me if this info could be a mistake.

Beni, for sure, is Max's biological father.

I have recently seen the clips from evama today. Thanks evama for the wonderful clips with subtitles. You really make my day complete... I mean almost.

Although I have seen other videos with Max and Iago on them at YouTube, I still want to watch this couple. Their interactions always spell romance even though the recent clips of Evama show the post-break up of the couple. But it is still obvious that Max is totally in love with Iago. He is even willing to commit a crime just to help Iago and to keep his lover from harm. ;D

I seem to infer that there is a "Bonnie and Clyde" scenario on those recent clips.

Max's acting is really impressive, so is Iago's. I like them both. Actually, I love them.

He was so young looking when his relationship started with Eric. How old was he then? But yeah he's grown into such a handsome young man. What is Max's story? Is Beni his birth father and Clara is his step-mother. I'm guessing either his mother didn't know Beni was the father or didn't tell him. Was with Max's step-father and then when she died he married Clara. And then something happened to him and then Max found Beni.

According to a site of Bernatfan1's MySpace, which I happened to read because I am addicted to Max and Iago now, Bernat and the actor who played the role of Enric were practically adults then when they became a couple on the soap.

But I think, they are too young to become a gay couple. Being young and gay could mean being adventuresome to the gay lifestyle, so perhaps, that is the reason Max and Enric had an open relationship.

Another reason of their break-up is Enric was a jerk.

And yeah, I agree with you. Max really looked young when he and Enric had become a couple but he turned into a very handsome young man when his and Iago's relationship ignited into a wonderful one.

AS for your other questions, I can't answer you now. I am more interested with the latest development of Max and Iago's though sometimes I wonder about his background.

Hey guys,

I'm glad you found Bernatfan's myspace site, it's great!

Here are some quick facts about the questions you've asked that will hopefully be of some help in understanding the storyline:

- Bernat has been in the show since its first season in 2000. He has stated in interviews that he was 14/15 at the time, the same as his character.
- Max was 19 when he started his relationship with Enric. He was already in college (medical school). Enric was about 17, a senior in high school at the time.
- Lali is Max's birth mother. After she died, Clara (who had served time in jail with Lali) adopted Max.
- Clara and Berta did become friends in jail. Berta did Clara a favor by lying for her after Clara stabbed a woman named Chus (who will become important later on, as you'll see!) and caused Chus to lose her unborn child. Clara now feels like she owes Berta.
- Max found Beni, his birth father, during season 6 of the show.
- Clara was never married to Beni!
- Clara was originally married to Quim, so Quim is Max's adopted father. Clara later divorced Quim and married Dani, who didn't accept Max's homosexuality. They later divorced as well.
- During seasons 4 and 5, Max and Quim are supposed to be travelling the world together on Quim's boat. Bernat took a break from the series for those two years in order to study philosophy in college.
- Quim dies in the beginning of season 6, in a boat accident.
- After Quim dies, Max goes to live with Peris and Cinta for a while.
- Later that season, Max goes to live with Beni.

Thanks for the recap ygwanwyn, that was very good. The only thing I could think of to add is that Cinta was Quim's sister, which is probably the link that had Cinta and Peris let Max stay with them. That leads to the famous scene where Peris walks in on Edu and Max making out on the sofa, ep 1126. The look on Peris's face is priceless.

I think he was pretty open once he realized he was gay. He and K had had sex and he didn't care for it at all. I think he told K and then told his friend Joel that he had feelings for him. Joel was kind of put off but they end up being just friends again. Alejandro has a clip with translations here.

This happenned the same day his adoptive father, Quim, beguin his travel on boat around the world. Quim said Max before he's gone: "Dont fear!" (and Max met Joan Serafi) And 5 years after, Max made remember Iago this sentence when he returns with him after the jewels robbery (excuse me my rougth english!)

Here you can see that scene between Max and Joan. It's in the middle of an interview with Bernat, but if you go to around the 6:00 mark, they show a clip of it and then he talks a bit about it.

Thanks for the link, I had seen the interview when it was aired (in 2005, when Bernat retorned to the series?), but I follow El Cor from 3th season and at that time I didnt know the sad Lali's history, and I'm glad to see her face in the first El Cor episody.

I dont know how put a link, but in Youtube Alejandro720 Chanel you can see Max outing to his stepfather Dani (sorry, this homofobic man has the same name that yours!) with english translation. And Clara's suportive reaction.

Max left Barcelona (november 2003) to meet Quim and travel on the boat with him, in part because of Dani's homofobia. Well, in the interview, is said Bernat left the series for two years to study philosophy. When he retorned (september 2005), things are changed for gay people in Spain! I think that all the whole gay Max storyline has much to do with the aproval, in 2005 Pride Day, of GL marriage in Spain. TV3 is the public TV of Catalonia and El Cor shows how people ought to behave.

When at the beguining of 2006 Peris caugth Max with Edu, Cinta Peris asked Max if Edu was his boyfriend. And Max answered he woudnt marry him. Of course, his only posible husband is Iago, we know now! And I hope we see their wedding!!!

First of all, let me say that it's a pleasure to have someone like you on this board, someone who has been a loyal fan of this series for so long, and who is from Barcelona! I absolutely loved hearing about the social changes you've seen in Spain due to this wonderful show! My goodness, you think Max's storyline helped gain acceptance for gay marriage in Spain? Wow, what an amazing compliment and source of pride that must be for the actors and writers of this show. Most of all, of course, for Bernat Quintana, who portrayed the role of Max in such a beautiful and compelling way! All I can say is, we need them here in America now!
