Bernat is preparing a new play in a avant-garde theater, Sala Becket in Barcelona. A play of an (also) irish author. He will stay there all Christmas (in fact, is a avant-garde Christmas play, "Dublin Carol"), from December 10th to Jaunary 11th. So, if you want to see him acting, you can come to Barcelona in Christmas! This information arrived to the official forum through BernatfanAni (from Croatia, I think), who gave it to Eva! www.salabeckett.com/pagina.asp?0=4&1=421086&2=2533&3=11881And Nuria, of the official forum, put this link. It's a radio program about a route across Gracia, the neigbourhood where Bernat lives (and where is the Sala Becket!). It's in catalan, but you can listen his voice, and he likes very much Gracia and you can see him in its litlle squares (one reason more to travel to Barcelona in Xmas!), walking and listening rock&roll, taking a beer, etc. blocs.lamalla.cat/bloc/extraradi/post/ruta_per_gracia_amb_bernat_quintana

This is specially for you, Bernatfan!Radio interview to Bernat Quintana, December 1st. It's suposed he's in the official school of actors, the Institut del Teatre (IT).Interviewer man: Bernat, good morning! Interviewer woman: Bernat Quintana, good morning! Bernat Quintana: Good morning! IM: Do you recognize yourself still when people call you Max? BQ: What, what, sorry? IM: I tell you if you still recognize yourself easily when you go down the street and someone calls you Bernat, or you turn yourself more when you are called Max? BQ: Man, sometimes I also turn myself when people call me Max, but each time they do it lesser, because people hardly remember me anymore, ja, ja! IM: What ungrateful the public is, truely! BQ: Ja, ja! IW: I dont believe it! IM: Listen, how many time are you doing the character of Max? Because you still are Max, you still are in the series, you havent dead because your ship has sinked [as Quim died], or something like this. IW: You were lucky that day! BQ: Yes, yes, of course, from many time, 8 years ago, and because of that it's good to do some pause. IM: Listen, before of all and for not to put my foot in it, what is the interview you are sick and tired that people you to do it, and you dont want us to do you? The question you dont like us to do you? BQ: Well, it seems to me you have done it, eh! IM: Yes? BQ: Yes, je, je! IM: Is it the question about Max, if you turn yourself....? EVERYBODY: Ja, ja, ja! BQ: Ja, ja, it doesnt matter, I dont know it, I dont know it. I'm opened to all kind of question. IM: We do interviews that like the person interviewed. If there is some question you dislike, we change it. BQ: Well, I'm putting my left hand! IM: Listen, what do people say when they see you at the Institut del Teatre? They say: what is this guy doing here, when he has done TV for 8 years? Are they surprised, or not? BQ: No, no, some people says this, "If you are working now!". But my intention going here isnt only get work, I want to be prepared for a better work, to be educated, and in this point I needed it as much as someone else, or I liked it as much as someone else. And really, here I'm someone else, and all my classmates treat me as a companion as them. IW: Bernat, it's difficult to get into the IT? BQ: Well, the proofs are hard, you have to be very well prepared, now they last 3 days. You have to be very concentrated and from here, there is some expectation level. IM: You can use all you have done, 8 years... BQ: It's true, I have done in the last two month.... Do you mean, the fact I worked before coming here? IM: Of course! You have been during 8 years with the Minguillón [Cinta Peris], and you have been for 8 years with Pep Antón Muñoz [Peris]. BQ: To have worked and have some background makes you to appreciate things we do here from another kind of view. I'm opened to be soaked up from all what is useful and to learn many things and to be educated, because this is the objective, isnt it? IW: And from this, what do you like to do? Because you have done movies, and also theatre. What do you want to do? What do you like that now, someone called you and told you: we have this proyect for you? BQ: The thing true is that this year I have many projects that have token shaped. We have opened in Temporada Alta a thing with Pau Miró that is called "Bufals", that is a trilogy that after Jaunary 28 we will do during 3 weeks at Versus Teatre, that is "Búfals" the first part. And at the same time we will be rehearsing the second part, that is called "Lleons", and we will open it in March at the TNC (Teatre Nacional de Catalunya), in the Sala Tallers. It's a text from Pau Miró. And the third part, I dont know now exactly when it will open, I hope in next summer, it will be called Girafes, it's a trilogy with references to the animal world. And besides, the next week I open a thing at the Sala Beckett with Manuel Dueso, whose name is is "Dublin Carol", that is a text from a Irish author, Conor McPherson, and I encourage the people to come there for Christmas... IW: There are many time McPherson isnt played in Barcelona. BQ:No, now something is played in Terrassa . In fact, the Sala Beckett does a cycle about Conor McPherson, because "A brilliant city" was played in Terrassa, directed by Jordi Vilà, and after us, they will come to play it a week in Jaunary in the Beckett. He's a very interesting playwriter. IM: And what is this about you to go with 200 students from a High School in Manresa [another town near Barcelona] to read poetry? BQ: Ja, ja. Well, it's another kind of thing. I did a poetry cycle in Manresa. I went with a companion musician and we did a poetry reading from Catalan and non-Catalan authors. The topic was "poetics of sensuality", because we want to bring the poetry near the students. IM: And they got it? Because we have an idea about people in High Schools, that are trivial, they dont matter anything. BQ: No, in that moment they laughed a little because the topic was sensuality and it had some points a little....But not, they liked it, in fact it was a very short thing, lasted a half an hour, and after, teachers said that it went very well. At the end, the students waited us and greeted us, and I kissed them. IM: Listen, Bernat, they were waiting you because they liked it, or they waited you because they are seing you in TV? BQ: Both of them, both of them! But I saw them glad by the way how it was made, and I know someone was delighted, for the coment they made me. Of course, they liked and have conected with some of the poems. And I think that's all right, people must to go to the theater, and to read poetry, and to be educated... IM: Yes, sf course, everyone have to do everything! And now? Has someone call you to do a movie another time? BQ: No, he hasnt, it's the truth. IM: ASK YOU IT, DO IT BY THE RADIO! BQ: Je, je, je, I cant complain this year, I'm very happy with all the theater projects I have, that is what I enjoy the most by now. And If I dont get something about a movie, I will turn up it. I'm not desperate to do movies. Things happen when they happen. IW: We can say you are very lucky, eh? Because there are many, many people that are trying to get roles everywhere they could, and they cant find them. BQ: Yes, well, this is chance, and I ought to work hard, and... IW: Of course! BQ: And dont stop, and to be everytime educated, and researching, and interested to improve and do better your work, and this is that I have and I think it have its consequences. IM: Are you among the people that cant live without being working? BQ: I'm not, but the work I do help me in my private life. It's really grateful to be doing a wort that makes you to be realized, that let you grow up. And my work give me all of this. IM: Now, you have a better life, havent you? Because you was a little tormented with the shots? BQ: Dont think, I wake up everyday at 7 and I'm here [at IT] until 3, I have luch and after I go to rehearse until 10 at the Becket, and Salurdays also. I have less hours this year than the past one.

Thanks so much for that translation Carmela. I actually listened to that entire radio interview and of course didn't catch more than a word or two. I am happy for Bernat that he is doing something he truly enjoys. Just wish we could see more clips and pictures of him. Really miss the HQ videos we could get from his TV and movie work. Bernat, please set up a Flickr, Myspace, or some type of web page to share with all of your fans! We want to keep up with your career and wish you the very best!

I love Max. I love everything about him. He is such a loyal boyfriend. Btw, why did Max and K decide to have sex? Is K in love with him or are they just curious about sex? Did they date ?

Bernatfan, thanks for the screencaps! Nus711, K liked Joel, but she wanted to have first a sexual experience with a friend, and convinced Max to do it. For Max it was also useful. He could compare what he felt doing it with K and what he felt for Joel. As K said later (as a joke), she ruined Max for girls. They never dated, they did sex only one time and allways have been "only" very close friends. K guided Max many times!

I hope people are thinking i asked too many questions. May i know who is Joan? Is he Max friend? Is he one of the main character in the show? Don't worry, it's nice to have people who seem interested. I think Joan was a very minor character. He doesn't even show up in the IMDB list of actors. I believe he was just one of Max's classmates at medical school. This was episode 636 and Max leaves in episode 650. Max moved in with Clara and Dani after Quim left. Dani had problems with Max's sexuality to Max ends up leaving to be with Quim. (Bernat left to go back to school.) He comes back (with an earring) about 2 years later in episode 1015 along with Quim. 4 episodes later Quim goes out on his boat and drowns. That's when Max goes to live with David and starts to look for his real father.

It's beautiful, and I'm proud of my city About Joan, he met Max at June 24 2003(Saint John's Eve, the magical night!), when he just finished his studies at the High School and went to do the test to enter at the University (I remember K talked about to study Philosophie, just what Bernat did then). Max and Enric seemed to have the same age, but in fact, Max was 20 when they first met, and Enric, I supose he was 16-17. Almost the same diference than Max&Iago (21 and 25 when they first met).

Still working on watching all of season 3, here are a few highlights. Episode 471 Joel and K are having a huge argument and K can give it back harder than Joel. Poor Max doesn't know what to do. Episode 489 Condom practice with a banana. Max looks like he's going to die.
