Does anyone have the dialogue of when Aaron finally comes out to Paddy? And Paddy is saying all those kind words about Aaron not having to try and just being himself. And talking about Aaron falling in love some day and his heart skipping a beat at seeing someone.
So, apparently I didn't have anything better to do for the last hour
. Here's a transcription of some of the dialog from 25 March 2010 at 8:00 PM (
this clip). I think this covers what you're asking for
. Quite the scenes, and it's interesting to look at what he said back then, compared to where he is today. A couple of sentences were difficult to catch, so let me know if I missed anything.
Scene 1 - KitchenPaddy's sitting on the floor, and Aaron comes in crying; Paddy reacts in fearA: I'm so sorry, Paddy. Please don't be scared. I never meant to do this. I just want to help. What can I do? Anything. I'll do anything.
P: Talk to me.
P: You think I'm going to turn me back on you now, 'cause of this?
A: I don't deserve it. Thought you'd want me out. Everyone else would. They'd have had the police here by now.
P: Must have been, sort of, painful when Adam told everyone you tried to kiss him.
A: I never touched him. I was with his sister. I wouldn't have done that.
P: You always seemed happier when you were with him.
A: Maybe you do have more of a laugh when you're with your mates. Nothing wrong with that. Loads of lads are like that.
P: Yeah, except, don't try and kiss me now.
(I think that's what he says, it's a little hard to make out.)A: I'm not like that. I've slept with girls.
P: I don't know. Maybe, maybe you're bisexual. Except you've hardly had a long list of conquests, have you? I've had more than you and it's me. You should be fighting them off, and you're not because maybe you're just not that interested.
A: I've tried.
P: You shouldn't have to try. You should just feel it.
A: I don't want to be like this, Paddy.
P: You don't have a choice. If you're gay, then you're gay. And that's just ... and you are, aren't you?
A:
*nods* Yeah.
Scene 2 - Living RoomAaron helps Paddy into the living room.A: We need to get you to a doctor.
P: It's not too bad.
A: You're lying.
P: Must be a relief. Now that you've told me. You can live your life, can't you? You can be yourself. It'll be easy.
A: Easy to be what? Some sort of queer?
P: Why, why would you use a word like that?
A: 'Cause it's what people will say. Maybe I should start wearing makeup and dresses just to make it that little bit more obvious.
P: You've got a very strange idea what it is to be gay.
A: I'm not like that.
P: Nobody expects you to be.
A: You don't get it. I can't be gay. I hate 'em. I kicked some kid's head in at school because he was one. And all me mates thought I was cool for it. It's just who I am. Just because I told you ... well, just because you forced me into it, doesn't change anything. I'll never, never be one of them.
Scene 3 - BedroomPaddy comes up to the doorP: Aaron.
A: Just leave me alone.
P: Do you know how many times I've been in love? Three. Mandy, Emily, and your mum.
A: Is this going somewhere?
P: Yeah, it is. I've had my heart broken three times, and I've felt pain that you wouldn't even believe. And what you did to me tonight was nothing compared to that. I couldn't imagine never falling in love again, though, I just -- even though it probably wouldn't work out and I'd be the one that suffered again. Aaron, do you really want to deny that for yourself? That feeling that you think you might die because you love someone so much, even though they probably don't feel the same way.
*Aaron opens the door, Paddy enters*A: I'm eighteen. I don't want to fall in love, I just want to have a good time.
P: So what are you going to do then? Are you just going to jump from one man's bed to another all your life?
A: I can't talk to you about this.
P: At some point, you're going to fall in love, Aaron. You can't stop yourself.
A: It's got nothing to do with love.
P: Well no, not at first, maybe, but ... it all starts off with flirting, doesn't it? And then you want to spend most of your time with them, don't you? And your heart skips a beat when they walk into a room. I know you've felt like that before, and I bet Holly didn't do it for you.
A: She's fit. Any of me mates would've fancied her, so we should've. Just made me feel normal.
P: How did Adam make you feel? He can't have been the first boy you've felt like that for. Who was he? You can tell me. I just want to know.
A: Kyle. Lived down the road from me. I used to watch him play footie and he was brilliant. Whenever I saw him I ...
P: Did you? Did you ever -- ?
A: No! He'd have killed me. Him and his mates. Wasn't even old enough to understand it. I just knew that I had to keep it quiet. And hope it went away. I'm still hoping. I mean I've never ... I haven't ... it's just in my head.
P: Was Adam the first time you'd come close to... ?
*Aaron nods*P: Pity he's not gay, isn't it? Made life a lot easier.
A: He's with Scarlett.
P: You'll meet someone.
A: What, and have a relationship? Walk down the street holding hands, 'cause I don't want to be a part of that freak show.
P: No, no no. It's not like that now.
A: What would you know about it?
P: Cousin Jason's gay.
A: Good for him.
P: Teach you a thing or two about falling in love. What did you feel for Adam?
A: Not love!
P: Just sexual?
A: Are you getting off on this?!
P: Don't be stupid.
A: Get out!
P: Ow!
A: I'm sorry.
P: It's all right.
