The anticipation JUST might be the end of me!! Are you saying 90 days is a little too long to patiently wait to meet the boys?

Wish You all a very Merry XMas! I have a question for the organizing team (better 2 say two): - Did you invite to Gays Of Our Lives Event -- any Dutch actors from GTST? -- any writers/other important personnel who did a LOT to the stories -besides actors? I'm really curious, 'cause it would be very interesting to chat with someone actually responsible for where the stories go... I know that fans are more into celebs, but who knows?!? We choose a few different shows and GTST wasn't one. We wanted everyone..but you have to draw the line someplace (personally, I would beg for Syed to be there. ;D ) But again..you have to stop someplace. Travel / hotel is expensive. And there just might be some other people there.

And there just might be some other people there. Shirley, are you dangling a teaser that Chroust might be there? Or OLTL's Exec Producer Frank Valentini or writer Ron Carlivati? Are you teasing us with those possibilities? Are you are you are you? If you tell us it's Chris Goutman, I want a refund! (kidding) ;D

sozment: I understand this. Way too much persons (actors, writers, crew)... I guess when You have started to organize the event GTST wasn't that popular, and I have to admit that comparing the current popularity of the shows (here at the blog/boards) for example VL vs GTST is a no brainer... You had to choose VL stars... Thanks for the answer - I just felt like asking it

Will anyone from Europe be going to the Gays of Our Lives Event? (I know Tom is but so far the rest seem to be from America or nearer the event). I'm toying with the idea of going but it's a hell of a long way to go (for someone who's furthest journey abroad was to Italy) and even though the prices are not as bad as I expected, still a lot of money. Is this truly a "Once in a Lifetime event" or will there be others? And last question, why was America chosen as the place to hold the event? Thanks very much Stef

I can probably answer this because I'm pretty tight with the organizers *wink, wink* I believe there are a few people from Europe planning to go...but I'm not 100% sure. SPEAK UP EURO-PEEPS WHO ARE GOING!! As far as "once in a life time" the organizers don't anticipate these same actors being in the same room in America any time soon. I know their hope is to plan more events...but that's contingent upon how well this one goes over. And lastly, why America? Because there are A LOT of American fans who are unable to travel to Europe for the many events Thore, Jo, Igor, Dennis (sp?) are at. It's likely that these guys might be in the same room in Europe... but America? Not so much. Not to mention Hal Sparks and Nick R and everyone else coming. It's just a fact that Europeans have a much higher chance of seeing the AWZ and the VL guys than their North American fans. I know the organizers picked a city that they thought people would enjoy, that the actors would enjoy, and that in and of itself was a big enough draw... in case people wanted to make more than a weekend out of it. There's A LOT to do in NYC. None of the organizers know what the future will bring. They're not sure if they'll ever plan another event like this... but they do know the cost is high and they've done everything they can do to make the cost as affordable as possible given that the event is being held in one of the most expensive cities in the world. lol. I know they think it's worth it and they've put a lot of time and effort into making it happen. (Some of them have lost sleep over it!) I can't tell you if you should go... I can only tell you that if you do go... it should be a good time. Will anyone from Europe be going to the Gays of Our Lives Event? I can tell you that we have people from Japan coming. And from Europe. If they want to speak up, they will. I can't give out names. But like Ribo said..it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have all of these actors in one place at one time. And she is right. The city was chosen due to the fact that American fans do not have the chance to ever see Jo, Thore, Dennis, Igor or Felix. AND we wanted the German actors to come to America and have some fun with us. We still have some invites out that have not been answered, so like I've been saying, you never know who might show up. So, if you want to come, please do and prepare to have the time of your life in one of the most exciting cities in America.

Thank you Riboflavinb2 and Shirley for answering my questions. I'll speak to my husband and see what he says. I've always wanted to visit America and this would be a great way to kill two birds with 1 stone, so to speak!
Thanks again. Stef

Zam.....9 days feels like a little too long to wait....patiently or otherwise. I have to admit...I am just as excited about meeting all the folks I have come to know over the last several months!
I have 3 roomys and we are coming perilously close to reaching critical mass already and it's not even 2010 yet! I think I might just fry a synapse before it's all said and done!!

I just purchased my ticket for the YouTube event for the Friday. I really wanted to go to some of the weekend events but I'm just not able to get the required time for that weekend. Still...i'm terribly excited to be going to this event and seeing Jo and Thore. I just can't believe this is happening. Shirley, and to all those who are making this event happen...thank you, because I never thought I would get the opportunity to see these two wonderful actors who have provided so many of us with such a beautiful TV love story. I've already started the countdown. ;D

...and keep our fingers crossed for people from the other side of the camera to come... and... and all others who haven't replied yet... we wanna all of them So, hope I can make it too... right now I have quite big difficulties around my moving to UK "project" & it may ruin my plans to go to NY, but I keep optimistic (why is that? I'm always the person who see the glass half empty rather than half full... ) In the meantime my comic-toon-soap is in progress with a HUGE help from fellow forumer MITSASO

It would be an honor just to see the man who created one of the most amazing on screen gay story lines in the history of SOAPS or television for that matter. ;D

Ticket sales are picking up but it's a MUST that we sell more during this month. So, if you are planning to come, get your ticket now. I promise you, you don't want to miss out on this once-in -a-lifetime-event. All these guys in one place at one time for an entire weekend. Plan your vacation in the most happening city in the USA. See you in March.

Here's some fund-raising ideas so you can be part of the fun!
If you live in the snowy north, have a car wash! Get all that salt off of those cars!
Sell snow cones!
Have a bake sale! German baked goods, naturally.
Shovel your neighbor's driveway! Have your kids (or life partner) do it and steal the money from them if you have to!
Just a few ideas.

Hi guys.. I am from Melbourne Australia and I don't think ANYONE here knows about Chrolli ( however would love to meet other Chollie fans if you are in Melbourne). I am so excited for this event in NYC and last night I decided I am going to go see Thore Scholermann at the event. Despite it being very expensive to fly over to NYC for 3 days ( airfare + hotel + VIP tix) I think it is gonna be sooo worth every cent just to be in the same room as my favouirtest gay couple on TV ( who look totally sweet and approachable). The problem is none of my friends know about Chrolli or have the finances to go so I will be doing it alone. I hope other Chrollie fans would be able to meet up with me in NYC to encourage me to speak to Thore if I get too star struck lol. ( I am 21 after all). Also I will be booking a room at the Millenium hotel where apparently Chrollie are staying so if anyone wants to share costs etc PM me and let me know! The last event I went to was to see Michael C Hall at the Dexter premier and I got his Autograph but that was just a 1 hour flight from Melbourne to Sydney. This is gonna be massive!!!! Chrollie 4eva!

Australia is represented! I think Shirley said we have someone coming from Japan, so that's Asia! Europe and North America will be represented!
Any attendees from South America or Africa yet? Can we get people from all six inhabited continents together?
A suggestion to the event coordinators: Put up a map at the event showing all of the countries the attendees are from.
Seeing in person the global reach and impact these shows have is an incredibly remarkable thing!!!
