Don't worry. We'll all look out for each other in March. I think basically all you have to do is go to paypal and enter: recipient's name: Shirley Ozment recipient's email: gaysofourlivesnyc@gmail.com Item Title: Gays of Our Lives - VIP Ticket - All Weekend - (Your Age) - (Your Name) Item Amount: $425.00 USD Or you can write to Shirley directly and she'll instruct you what to do. Hope that helps.

Have you guys sent press releases to the soap mags? We need to get the word out to as wide an audience as possible about this fantastic event.
Also, you should ask Afterelton.com to do an article on this. I know it was in Anthony's Gays of Our Lives column but they should do something splashier.

I can tell you that both of those things are in the works. SOW will also be covering the event. But here's how we can help!! Spread the word. Tell your friends. If you participate in other gay message boards or other soap boards introduce people to these great shows and tell them about the event. COMMENT on Youtube. Twitter. Facebook. Pass around Visitor9627's videos, etc. Steal Patricia's graphics or make your own. Stick them in your signatures and avatars and wear them with pride. (I should get on that myself) I know there has been a spike in ticket sales... But I truly believe that the more people the better. It's going to be a RIOT. If you're not subscribed to the newsletter...get on it. Some pretty fun details should be coming out soon. Is it sad that I already have my outfits picked out? Maybe so! But I want to look just so fab when I meet Zam, Shirley, Jo Thore, and everyone else. Who's everyone rooming with? What outfit do you want to be photographed standing next to thore and jo in? Me? Skinny jeans and my ruby slipper stalettos. (They're classy I swear!!) Eeeeek! I just got excited thinking about dancing in them all night.

Riboflavinb you had me cracking up that you've already picked out your wardrobe. Speaking of which, it would be nice if someone could post what would be appropriate attire for each event. I don't wanna come in bell-bottom jeans only to find everyone in a tux, if you know what I mean!! Not that I'd ever be caught dead in bell bottoms. BTW, what will the weather be like around that time in NYC? That's another factor to consider.

@ scarpien. Glad I had you laughing! I can answer a few of your questions. Weather in NYC around that time will most likely be cold. I'd be shocked if it were above 55F. I'd say pack layers and check the weather reports before you go. As far as dress code: I've been told it's a come as you are kinda thing. Be yourself. Dress up if you want to or Dress comfortable. I wouldn't wear mustard stained sweat pants or T-Shirts with cut off sleeves--unless you're using the work out room. I'd say business casual, jeans, trendy clothes will be fine. A sample of my outfit plan is this (And I have to think this far ahead to see if I can get it all in one bag.) Thursday (I'm going early) Jeans and a sweater with Ugg boots. 1 Workout outfit (yoga pants tank etc) and my running shoes. 1 Pair of Ruby Slipper Stilettos (They're classy I swear!) 1 pair of black flip flops 1 pair of black high heals 1 Pair of Skinny Jeans 1 sequin tank top (black) 1 shirt I like to call "my pirate shirt" and a vest 1 black skirt .... you can see where this is going right. OH!!! AND A SCARF. I'm thinking a really ugly scarf. LumberJack Plaid maybe! You know. BECAUSE IT'D BE FUNNY! I can tell you that both of those things are in the works. SOW will also be covering the event. But here's how we can help!! Spread the word. Tell your friends. If you participate in other gay message boards or other soap boards introduce people to these great shows and tell them about the event. COMMENT on Youtube. Twitter. Facebook. Im a guy and I am only there for 4 nights so I think I will take with me:
2 Pairs of Jeans 6 TShirts 6 Pairs of Undies 6 Pairs of Socks A Cashmere Sweater A Nylon Jacket A Scarf
Last year I bought my UGG boots from Australia and I didn't even get to wear them much because it wasnt THAT cold.... If I need clothes I can just pop down Abercrombie/American Eagle in case any fashion emergencies happen. I remember even in Feb people were wearing Tshirts in the afternoon??
I plan to travel as light as possible :-)

Lee-- don't forget your Hansel & Gretel outfit! Remember, March is going to be German Month in NYC.
I want to use that Jo & Thore graphic as my Avatar. How do I do that? It says you need a URL?

If you right click the graphic there should be an option to "copy link image" or "go to link image" and that should give you the URL. Lee-- don't forget your Hansel & Gretel outfit! You mean even though you've already packed all those selections are subject to change?! Just be sure not to be like me and pack everything thing EXCEPT undies for your trip!! ;D ;D As today is my birthday, I decided to give myself a gift and join you, amazing soap community for this once in a lifetime event. I even added a day in NY for museum visit. Hotel is reserved I'll wait til thursday to buy event ticket, though as january is a month of 3 paychecks! Happy Birthday and good for you!! You only live once so go for it. Fill your life with great memories. You're gonna have a blast I'm sure Lee-- don't forget your Hansel & Gretel outfit! Remember, March is going to be German Month in NYC. I want to use that Jo & Thore graphic as my Avatar. How do I do that? It says you need a URL? Oh really?!! Well when you put it like that I have no choice but to don my Hansel apparel!! I'm sure Jo will be proud. As for the avatar, I found a site online that allowed to me create the URL from the pic I had saved. I think I typed "creating avatars" or something like that in the search and clicked on some sites that looked promising. And it worked!!

A couple of questions - Is there a cutoff to buy tickets? For various reasons, I'll probably be getting tickets last minute (especially the Saturday YouTube luncheon) How easy (?) is it to get from Penn Station to Times Sq? I might be just taking Amtrak up for the day. And more importantly, at night, how safe is it to go alone from Time Sq back to Penn Station? (I know NYC a little, and with other people, I don't mind going around the city at night, but alone? Not so much) I'm still working on convincing dh that a March weekend in NYC is a good idea - he wouldn't come to the event with me, but I'm sure he'll find something to do for a few hours in Times Square

Hi Liz!! OH please please please I NEED you to be there. You'll have to ask Ribo, or Sozement maybe re: the cutoff for the tix. It's not hard at all getting from Penn to Times Square, a cab would get you there in 5 minutes, or you can actually take the red line (1,2,3) up one stop. Or if its warm enough, walk. I did it everyday for 2 years at my old job. You'll be good to go. Both Penn station and Times square are fairly heavily guarded 24/7 Plus there's always people around, really nothing to be afraid of. And if you want, you have a volunteer walking partner right here since i'll be taking commuter rail in myself.
