Thanks for the clip.
This is all very interesting. I'm not sure where it's going, which is something new. Aaron seemed surprised and a bit annoyed that Adam was there. Then he was working so hard to get Holly, yet he so quickly spurned her when he thought she was making fun of him (even though she really wasn't). He's easily hurt, but it also makes you wonder if he is just going after her because he feels like he needs to, not necessarily because he wants to. It's all very perfunctory.
Adam sure jumped to Aaron's defense very quickly. Whether that's because of friendship, or more, I don't know. I hope we will see some of how Aaron feels about this. Pretty much no one in Aaron's life, except maybe Paddy, ever does that for him.
It seems like, from the hints here and there, Aaron may like Adam's presence, at times like it too much, and that's why he had this idea of being alone with Holly. Yet even when he's with her, he seems to look through her half the time.
I really like the bit at the end of the driving test clip where Adam takes Aaron's hand when he thinks Aaron has failed the test, then Aaron keeps holding it when he tells them he passed. That's sweet, and...surprising, given that Aaron isn't someone who wants people to see him in a sensitive or vulnerable way. He's the hard man type.

Thanks final and stl29tide for the clips - I'm liking the idea of extra insurance against missing anything ;D Well the story seemed to be moving on for both boys in last night's ep. First of all, Aaron. I thought his moves towards Holly seemed a bit robotic - I'm not sensing much emotion coming from him there. *thank goodness* And then Adam - I found tonight's ep to be more revealing for him. He went to the party, telling his parents that he was going to look out for Holly and Hannah, appearing to play the over-protective brother part again. But once at the party, he's like 'sisters, what sisters' . He does move to split up the Holly/Aaron conversation, but note he does this by taking Aaron away from Holly. And he seems to push Hannah very firmly to one side, as he gets more concerned about Holly's friends breaking into the surgery, then backs Aaron up against the 'friends' while Hannah slips away with her booze. I definitely got the impression that Adam was more watching over Aaron than either of his sisters, and did we ever see him flirt with a girl??? NO WE DID NOT!!! ;D I really think that Adam's very drawn to Aaron, and doesn't even feel the need to pretend to be interested in a girl. I'm not getting a particularly straight vibe from him at all.

Holly did tell Adam some girl was there, but aside from looking somewhat nervous after Holly told him, he didn't have a reaction, or go to speak to her. I'm not sure if he sees Aaron as a friend, or a more, if he even realizes any feelings, but they definitely haven't had him with any women. Aaron has been with them, but this with Holly seems so matter of fact, like he's checking off a box to prove something to himself. There's sort of a "Why am I doing this?" tone to him, and he gives up so quickly.
Are those sparkly headbands back? Holly looks very 1980.
Only on Emmerdale would sick animals break up a party.
I do think it's very sweet how instinctually protective Adam was of Aaron.
The Barton parents seem generally supportive, so if Adam was gay, I don't think they'd have a problem, although they might with his choice of partner...

Thanks Alicat - that was a really great clip I love the interaction between Paddy & Aaron. I also think Danny Millar is a pretty damn good actor!

Thank you for finding this clip. That Paddy/Aaron scene is pure gold, and talk about foreshadowing. He goes on and on about how important it is for Aaron to be friends with Adam. How often does a soap talk like that about what is just a friendship?
This is the one where I thought Adam was looking at Aaron with some sort of love or longing, at the end of the clip. Does anyone else see that?

If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but, this past weekend I was downloading episodes of Emmerdale to put on DVD. Anyways, I came across episodes that had Aaron in it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the episodes of when he first re-appeared, but, if anyone would like, I can upload some of the ones that I do have, which involve Aaron and his dog Clyde and him losing his virginity to Victoria. I also have all of the episodes from when the Burtons first appeared. So again, if anyone would be interested in seeing those, just let me know. I'll have to clip them, but, I'll be more than happy too and can probably start uploading some as soon as tomorrow.

Thanks for the video alicat ;D My favorite part of the clip was when the character that is played by James Sutton says to Adam "I would offer you my help, but Aaron's your man." Adam then responds "Na, Don't think so." Couldn't stop grinning ;D

The way people talk about them in the clip is very couply.
The early stuff with Aaron was good. There were times he was a real jerk, to say the least, but also times when he was very vulnerable and caring. I loved his relationship with Clyde. He did let Paddy do the work sometimes, but he genuinely cared about that dog, the first thing he ever had truly cared about on the show. I wish it hadn't disappeared.

I have a feeling that thier was a storyline in connection with the dogs disappearance - i.e it was shot or poisoned or something like that

You may be right. I might have missed that. Here's a scene from January where Aaron, who at that time had only been on the show a few months, trashed Carl's house when he thought Chas and Carl might be getting back together. He had also defaced Carl's father's grave (not a nice thing to do, but before you feel too sorry, keep in mind that Carl murdered his father!). Here's a "Meet the Bartons" type of feature from July. It's interesting as, in this clip, they have it where you could possibly see Adam as having a thing for Layla. Then again, all of the men Layla is involved with (Nathan, David) give off strong gay vibes for me, so...

This was probably the first scene Aaron and Adam had together. A bit of a sparring match, with various Dingles, and John Barton. And the lovely Clyde. It's early in the clip.
This was around the time when the Bartons first arrived and the Dingles, not knowing the farm was inhabited again, had stolen some of the sheep left behind by Andy Sugden.
Not long after this, Aaron tried to stop the lorry from crashing into a village shop, but everyone thought he had wanted it to crash. Then John cleared his name.

Thanks for the clips carld2. It's interesting to see how they interact in older episodes. I think they have really good chemistry, and I definitely sense something more than friendship!

There were a few small snippets of the boys tonight The first scene was Adam at the family breakfast table with his parents telling him how disappointed they were for not looking after Hannah Then we saw Aaron & Holly trying to tidy the flat - there is some interaction between them, with Aaron asking her out on a date - she declines - Paddy comes home ( the house is a total mess) and he freaks out - Holly leaves. Paddy is furious and Aaron is apologetic in a cute/cheeky kinda way Paddy asks Aaron if he trashed the house in an effort to get off with Holly - Aaron denies it - ( and it seemed quite genuine to me!) Finally we see Aaron at the garage and Adam comes to see him ( to find out what Paddy's reaction was) - things seem a little awkward between them at first ( which is curious) and then suddenly the ice is broken and they're joking with each other in an easy, friendly manner. This scene was really cute - there is definite chemistry in the air!!!!!
