What's with all the breaks? Do you know? I've heard speculation that they want to stick with doing only 22 episodes, and they definitely want Glee to be on during sweeps (which is like late April till late May) so they're just delaying it while they can... Also just heard it might even be the 19th when it comes back...

^ Yeah, it was going to be the 12th, but now it's the 19th. Good news is there won't be anymore breaks btwn the eps once they start up again...AND the season finale will be 2 hrs!

but still- kind of HUGELY annoying! Hummmm.... my brother used to be a commissioner and in charge of programming for a couple of different channels (in UK and Europe) and there would have been HELL to pay if he'd messed around schedules as much as seems to happen in the USA- people just get fed up of trying to find out when the show is, and give up watching Ah well, will just go watch AVPM and AVPS a few more times to fill the gap

Love the Moulin Klaine video! They SOOOOOO should have sung that instead of that Candles song- I really didn't enjoy that, their voices didn't work well at all in that song (although it was much better when you saw it in the show)...
Speaking of which, this weekend I finally worked out what was bugging me about this storyline, after I had a meander thru a few other Glee forums, where Darren/ Blaine was either being idolised or absolutely hammered... and it struck me that I've been irritated by the a) pushing to the forefront of his character and b) lack of development of his character (neither of which I see as his fault).
As I've mentioned, I was a huge Darren Criss/ Starkid fan before this, so I was supermegaawesome excited to see him arrive in Glee, but he- and by extension Chris/ Kurt-- have become a victim of his success. I think the fact that Teenage Dream was so hugely successful made Ryan Murphy's eyes light up with dollar signs and has resulted in pushing Blaine to the front and centre BUT without developing what is, essentially a second string character (and, by default, by not deciding for a time whether the characters are going to get together makes it hard for the actors to develop a sense of "building" to a moment). Conversely Kurt, who was such an interesting character (especially in counterpoint to the rest of ND) has been reduced to Blaine's sidekick, stripping him of interest= this season he's only really shone for me in the scenes with his dad. And finally, the style of the Warblers, whilst a good change from New Directions, is the same for every sodding song, whereas ND have variety, so no matter how good Darren's voice is, they are starting to sound pretty samey.
I think that's why for me, and many people, there's a frustration with the character. I hope, really hope, that if he's going to become permanent (who knows, but RM seems to love him) they actually give his character some depth, rather than random moments of "do-wopping" as Kurt would have it.

Heh. Yeah, everything the Warblers sing sounds similar.

I totally get what you're saying, but I'm really hoping that now that they are together, they'll have a clear trajectory for the character. They kind of have to develop him more now if they want to keep people interested in their relationship. I also understand what you're saying about the whole Kurt being his sidekick thing, but I don't really think that's true in terms of the actual storyline, because we still tend to see everything from Kurt's perspective. I'm just going to think positive thoughts and keep being excited about them being together

Oh and I was also going to say that, while I've been a little back and forth with Blaine's character (since they tend to change his character traits every episode), I realllllly loved him in the last episode and I like to think that he's going to be that cute/romantic Blaine from now on.

I hope they do develop Blaine better now (and I love cute!Blaine, suits the character so well ), and balance out his and Kurt's screen time- and I REALLY hope that they go the route of Blaine being extremely messed up underneath, bringing out Kurt's protective claws- would LOVE that change of dynamic... I also guess I just don't get why all their songs have to be around the Warblers, and why the Warblers hve to be the same every time either. To while away the time until the new episode, anyone care to suggest their fantasy duet for the pair, now that they're a couple? I'd like "something stupid" by Frank and Nancy Sinatra... would be wonderfully kitsch silly fun...

...that awkward moment when the preview for next week is more exciting than the entire episode you just watched... But honestly, I'm not sure if it's just 'cause this was following the hiatus or whatever but "Night of Neglect" felt so underwhelming. It had it's moments... like Mike's dancing, and I actually felt a bit of sympathy for once for Emma. But overall, I found myself not caring about pretty much most of the storylines... Then there's the whole whopping 2 minutes and 45 seconds of Klaine. Which now I feel the need to over-analyze all of their scenes. Starting with Kurt giving Blaine the tour (aww!). And then the line "...and of course, you know the choir room..." Yeah, from all those times that Blaine has been in there right? And then Blaine understanding what Kurt was feeling without even having to ask Which led to one of the cutest screen caps of the night. And then OMFG Santana officially made this episode worth watching. Oh and she totally almost found out about Dave's secret. And why was he working out in his school's gym during like, the night time? But oh well it was cute to see Blaine try and shove him. Then during the benefit, Kurt and Blaine sit in the back in a dark corner (no dirty thoughts about that at all, what are you talking about?). And during Mercedes' song, it cut to a shot of all couples ('cept for loner Will) and Kurt was leaning on Blaine's shoulder!! Aaand yep, that was my wow-that-hiatus-was-way-too-long-for-that-little-klaine analysis. But overall I suppose I should be happy that we get any Klaine at all. And I know that the writers have called them "boyfriends" but at this point in the show it doesn't really feel like that Maybe I just expect too much...

^ I don't think that they've told anyone that they're dating yet. The writers are probably saving the big KLAINE ARE A COUPLE reveal for the next episode. Maybe during Somewhere Only We Know ? This episode wasn't the best, which is usually the case when Klaine aren't the main focus. I'm very much looking forward to the next one though. Oh, and I LOVED Santana tonight! Razor blades in her hair indeed!

This episode was uneven from start to finish. But the highlights were Kurt/Blaine in the hall. They really are a cute couple, I look forward to seeing what the writers do with them. (Hopefully they won't screw this up) And I adored Mercedes rendition of Ain't No Way. The girl completely murdered that song. Mind you know one and I mean no one does it like Aretha, but this child was in there. Which is saying a hell of a lot since there aren't many singers past, present or future who can hold their own with the one and only Queen of Soul.

I'm pretty much in agreement with everyone- was a bit of a "meh" episode (found myself having to strongly resist the urge to jump sections)- fav bits were as above- Santana, Klaine and the fabulous Ms Mercedes giving it her Aretha all (And, as a HUGE Adele fan, wasn't too keen on Holly's rendition of turning tables- I think Adele is so unique, a modern day diva, and, like Aretha, people can try and might even be good, but they will NEVER be as good as...)

I just found out about Adele last week and have been listening to her music, watching her videos A LOT, since. She's really amazing and I find myself tearing up over her voice and the emotion behind her words. And yeah, Holly Holiday's rendition did absolutely nothing for me. I can't wait for the MTV Gleecap. I hope he sings about there not being enough Klaine. ;D
