See, I don't think we should infer that much. I hope it's not that predictable. And I'd been hoping for someone more of a departure from the kinds of guys in Lucas' past.
But you're probably right, Hawthorne. Someone he'd think would be right for Wiet could only be so many things. And then the complication ends up being he's gay, and maybe even a father, like you said. And he must become really attracted to this guy for whatever reason.
Let's just pray it's interesting. And I didn't want Lucas doing the chasing yet again either. But it's a storyline. I'll take what I can get.
We need casting news!

It doesn't have to be a guy he thinks is right for Wiet. He might start looking for someone for Wiet, but then he sees someone for himself. The spoilers are vague enough so all options are still open.

GTST casting news in the newspaper this morning. Just not the casting news we've all been waiting for. Sanne Langelaar will play Sjors for six weeks. The writers had planned for Sjors to leave the show temporarily during Inge Schrama's maternity leave, but because of medical advice Inge had to leave sooner. Sanne had auditioned for another role but didn't get it because she looked too mich like Inge. Two weeks ago Inge gave birth to a daughter, Betty Sue.

I did think the options we're open, but Hawthorne influenced me! lol I want them to throw us for a curve though. A good one.
And I always find it so surreal watching another actor play someone else's original role like this. And she really could pass for Inge's double. I'm fascinated to see that as well. Wouldn't Sanne basically be finishing out the season then?

Yeah, it seems like Sjors was scheduled to leave anyway but Inge had to leave sooner because of medical advice. They had no other option than to recast the role for those last six weeks (she probably leaves in May and then Inge will return in the new season). Recasts happen more often on the show but usually when a character has been gone for a while. It always takes me some time to get used to a recast, but I also find it interesting to see what a different actor or actress brings to the role. I thought Ayal Oost did a great job replacing Beau Schneider as Tim for two weeks when Beau's real-life mother passed away. The timing during that recast was unfortunate because it was the climax of the story (Sjoerd found out about Rikki and Tim). It can't be easy to step into a role in the middle of a story line. Since Ayal was only on the show for two weeks I wouldn't mind if they bring him back in a different role. I thought he was a good actor and good looking too.

Sanne as Sjors (better quality):

That's a strong resemblance, alright. Were there ever any episodes you subbed with Ayal playing Tim, Mark? I hope there'll be a Lucas scene with Sanne in it, just to see. They didn't have to turn her away just because she looks like Inge, they could have done the classically soapy thing and done a separated-at-birth storyline - Sjors' long-lost twin sister. But back on topic, I hope we'll learn of the actor playing Lucas' love interest before next week. Maybe the fact it hasn't come out yet means he's not the typical choice though, and they want it to be all the more surprising.

Sanne's first appearance is tomorrow. So I guess the same could happen with Lucas' new love interest. Anyway, Ferry is such a tease. I tweeted about the Sjors recast but that it wasn't the casting news I was waiting for. Ferry just responded to that in two tweets: Tweet 1: Nananana!!! Tweet 2: Hahaha!! ;D

That's reminded me you're famous though, Mark.

Or maybe a well know Dutch actor like Michiel Huisman...

New spoilers. And we still don't know much more. It does seem like maybe an exit is coming up for Aysen. That would be good news. Not just because it's not one of my favorite characters, but also because it means they could introduce another permanent character (Lucas' new guy?). I want casting news. Now. ;D

Bilal wasn't ever in the credits, was he? And if the new guy's going to be in a storyline with Lucas for longer than the one with Bilal, wouldn't they be making him a regular/permanent character? Maybe it'll be official with the new season. Also, that must mean he's coming in with ties to another character or has some kind of major dynamic. I really want the casting news too. I really hope I like the new guy and Lucas together. I wasn't the most keen on him and Bilal.
The spoilers are infuriating.

No, Bilal was never in the credits. Probably because they knew he would leave again. It's definitely possible that they'll wait until the new season to update the opening credits. Right now I don't really care about that. I want to know who it is!

Usually the term windfall means something really big, or a lot. I'm wondering if Lucas' "romantic windfall" involves more than one guy.

It's not necessarily really big. The following meaning of 'windfall' is also the meaning of the Dutch word 'meevaller' in the original spoiler: "A sudden, unexpected piece of good fortune or personal gain."

Hey, Mark, could the Dutch word you translated to "confession" also mean "statement" because that makes more sense. Unless Lucas has done something that he needs to confess to.
Also could you answer some questions? What is going on with Sjoerd? Is he still spiraling downward with drug addiction? It sounds like he might get kicked out of his parent's house.
Is the fact that Aysen killed Danny catching up with her? I've been waiting for her to pay for that. I can't stand her.

No, the Dutch word 'bekentenis' really means 'confession'. The Dutch word for 'statement' would have been 'verklaring'. It's of course possible that they accidentally wrote 'bekentenis' while they meant to write 'verklaring'.
Anton and Bianca have been watching Sjoerd 24/7. He's not allowed to leave the house. He's also talking to a psychologist. Rikki also found out about the drugs. Some of the cocaine ended up with Bram's toys. Rikki found the drugs and is having doubts about whether she should call Child Protective Services or not.

Thanks, Mark! I went and watched some of the Sjoerd-related scenes from recent episodes. I don't know where the writers are taking Sjoerd with this story. Towards what end are they destroying his life? I could see him losing everything. Is it all so Rikki can discover in a moment of crisis that it's really Sjoerd that she loves? Maybe. But I could also see Lucas being all whom Sjoerd has left and he being the one who breaks Sjoerd's fall and turns him around. That could be a really nice story even if there is no romance involved. I really like their relationship. Because he's Edwin's brother, I could see Lucas refusing to give up on Sjoerd and going through hell to pull him through his tough time. Potentially, Sjoerd could develop feelings for Lucas in such a situation. I'm not saying it's likely, but from a story writing perspective there appears to be an opening for it. The gay story lines in which a straight guy falls for a gay guy have been very successful and popular in the past - Chrolli on VL, McDean on HO. On GTST, it would certainly get people talking. The new guy suggested by the spoilers could be a decoy. I hope we get something definitive soon.

But has there been any hint or buildup, any foreshadowing at all of that happening between Lucas and Sjoerd? I feel like it would be coming virtually out of nowhere if it did. And not in a clever twist kind of way, in just a bad storytelling shock for shock's sake kind of way.
And it never even crossed my mind that the spoilers are being that deceptive. That storyline just seems like something totally separate and lighthearted than to secretly be about the self-destructing, straight brother of Lucas' dead love of his life suddenly becoming a viable romantic prospect. And then for Lucas to be lusting after him the next day? So I think they can really just be taken for face value, and speculation's getting a little too far carried away.
As for Sjoerd, I think it's just a straightforward drama, and headed for an overdose scare. And there's plenty of point to make of it, whether it be leaning toward he and Rikki coming back together, or just being a lesson with a heart made out of Ed's memory, or if it'll leave Sjoerd suffering long-term side effects.

I think Sjoerd might go to rehab at the end of the story. Guido is in the midle of his third one-year contract. At the end of it he has to leave for 3 months.

Ah. See, that would make perfect sense, Mark.
I feel like I'm slowly losing my mind waiting for this casting news, is the thing. Doubled by the fact I'm also waiting for my favorite soap character in another soap to make his grand return back onscreen after a month, which is happening the same time as Lucas' new storyline beginning.

I think we might have to wait for casting news until next week. Like with the Sjors recast, we didn't know about that until a day before her first appearance.

But it should be different. A Sjors recast for a few weeks isnt the same as a new love interest character for Lucas. *sulks*
