I think it's going to be discovered that Noud has an identical twin that he didn't know about and this will be Lucas' new love interest. Twin Noud is really an evil twin, but that won't be revealed until after Lucas has fallen hopelessly in love with him.

Oh lol, I'm forgetting what Mike's ties are, that it was just Tim connected to the Bouwhuis'. Bianca's brother, right? But I was just thinking that a close associate of his could come in to support him, help Mike in his schemes, be another enemy of the Sanders' or something, but fall for Lucas. Lots of conflict, it could be really good.
It really just makes me wish I knew what they're going to do.

And that's too bad about Marcus. I was thinking we'd have had to hear more about his return by now if he was coming back, so I guess not. I had been looking forward to the shake-up.
But we're still getting Wiet, and then Lucas' new storyline.

Major changes in GTST's opening sequence next Monday. Jack is gone now and Wiet has been added but the order of characters has been changed as well. And several characters have new 'photos'. The current order of characters is:

I really like that the first one we see is Laura. After all, she is the only original cast member still on the show.

Looks like maybe Lucas starts to think better of playing a nasty trick on Wiet. That pleases me. Lucas, like Noud, has a really big heart and so it seems out of character to me for him to be out for petty payback. He always acts more shallow when he's around Lorena. I hope he and her have a major fall out.

Some casting news. Actress Marjolein Touw will play a guest role as Frederique Weber. Rik thinks it's time for Jef to meet a new woman (after he has recovered). He sets up a date with this woman through a dating site. At first Jef is not happy with it, but it turns out there's a 'click' between the two. Frederique has a hidden talent and Laura encourages her (against Jef's will) to follow her dreams.



Ferry retweeted GTST's tweet about this so perhaps this Frederique is going to be related to Lucas' new love interest. Or not. ;D Marjolein Touw is an actress in musicals. She's currently playing Ursula in The Little Mermaid:



Wicked was produced by the same company so Ferry might know her personally. We'll have to wait and see.

Marjolein's first appearance is on March 13.

Well, she is going to sing on the show. That also explains why Laura encourages her to follow her dreams. Laura used to be a night club singer. Maybe Frederique is going to sing Poor Unfortunate Souls...

I'm not sure if his first scenes have been filmed already, but an actor has definitely been cast. Ferry said he was happy with the actor who's playing his new love interest.

I'm not sure if they will announce it or if they wait until the first episode. Both options are possible and have happened in the past. As soon as there's news I will obviously post it here.

This Sjoerd/Rikki/Tim/Wiet square has got me remembering someone got inbetween Lucas and Edwin.

I'm dreading shipping Lucas with his new love interest too much now, because another guy's bound to enter the picture and upset me. I wanted Ron to die horribly .... and then he did. And then Edwin did too, and I might possibly still not be recovered.

No sign of Lucas' new love interest on the horizon so far. I've kinda been wondering if Sjoerd could somehow be his love interest and we're in for a big surprise. All season long they've been devoting screen time to show that Lucas and Sjoerd are quite close. Sjoerd is straight, so it couldn't happen under normal circumstances, but Sjoerd is in a downward spiral that could produce non-normal circumstances. Perhaps Lucas proves to be the one person to never give up on Sjoerd. Sjoerd and Lucas share a deep bond over their pain from Edwin's loss. Perhaps Sjoerd decides that if Lucas was good enough for Edwin, he's good enough for him. It could be a hopeless attempt on both of their parts to somehow re-experience a bit of Edwin. I can't imagine it would be something that works out between Sjoerd and Lucas, but it would certainly be interesting while it lasts.

It's all very unlikely, I know. I have an overactive imagination that loves to run off on tangents like that. Still, it's fun to speculate about possibilities like that, I think.

I've actually thought about the Sjoerd possibility as well. It's unlikely, but not impossible. I don't know exactly how I would feel about it. I think Ferry and Guido have great chemistry together. I always enjoy their scenes. It would be interesting to see them in more romantic scenes, but at the same time I don't want that to ruin their friendship. There's something I really like about them getting closer (as friends) after Edwin's death.

What's probably more likely to happen is that it's going to be someone new. If it's a new character I wonder if this character might be related to Frederique (the woman Jef is going to date soon). Maybe she has a son?

When that casting news came out, Ferry was in the RTL Boulevard studio to promote his new single. They asked him about his new colleague Marjolein Touw. The way he talked about her made me think he has been in scenes with her.

And yesterday something caught my attention. It was the big opening night of the musical Sister Act. Several GTST cast members were there and so was Marjolein Touw. In an interview she was asked about GTST and her new colleagues. The only one she mentioned by name was... Ferry.

This doesn't have to mean anything, because most of Jef's scenes are in public places like De Koning and De Rozenboom. So it's very likely that Marjolein's scenes are also in those public places where her character might cross paths with Lucas (and other characters).

But I also think it would be a nice way to introduce a new character. Frederique will leave after a while but her son (?) stays to be with Lucas.

Oh, well. We'll see. ;D

Yeah, if I had to bet money, I wouldn't bet on Sjoerd being the new lover, BUT... until some details of the new character or actor emerge there are some intriguing (though possibly illusory) signs pointing towards Sjoerd:

• They really have put a focus on Lucas and Sjoerd's relationship all season. Why? Is it going somewhere?
  
  
• Sjoerd appears headed for a major crack up. And Lucas is positioned to perhaps be the person who picks up the pieces. How low will Sjoerd go? How desperate will the situation become? Will Lucas basically save Sjoerd's life? If they did want to pair Sjoerd and Lucas up, something like what Sjoerd is experiencing would probably be necessary to make it possible and believable. Hmm...
  
  
• Something about the way Sjoerd reacted when Lucas tried to touch his hair made me think there might be a moment later on when he doesn't mind it so much. Sjoerd had a homophobic reaction, but Lucas wasn't offended. He was amused - I think because it was male-male intimacy that Sjoerd was being uncomfortable with and not Lucas specifically. But just the fact that they staged such a moment between them intrigued me.
  
  
• Ferry's comment that he's happy with the actor who's been cast to play his love interest works just as well if the actor is Guido instead of a new actor. Ferry and Guido have such fantastic chemistry that I could see the writers wanting to put that chemistry to work within the show. Also, it might be nice if there was a member of the permanent cast with whom Lucas had some romantic intrigue instead of always having to bring in a guest character whenever it's time for Lucas to experience some romance.

I think the scene where Sjoerd tells Lucas to not touch his hair was an inside joke about the way Ferry doesn't want anyone to touch his hair. ;D I don't see it as homophobic. I did really like that scene.

Tomorrow more scenes between Lucas and Sjoerd. Sjoerd stole money from Bianca to buy cocaine. Tomorrow Bianca notices she's missing €50. Sjoerd goes to Lucas to borrow money (€150). He puts the €50 back in Bianca's wallet (but Bianca catches him doing that). With the other €100 he has bought more cocaine.

It's interesting that Sjoerd is having this reaction to losing Rikki. The situations aren't the same, but it's similar to how Lucas reacted to Edwin's death. Maybe you're right. Maybe Lucas will be the one who can stop Sjoerd from ruining his life. It's interesting that they've included Lucas in this story (even if it's just a couple of short scenes for now).

I only drop in from time to time to see what's going on with Lucas. So he's finally getting a new fella? Any idea when he'll appear so I can start watching again? I think Lucas and Edwin's bro falling for each other would would be very hot and scandalous, but I don't see the show going there. Besides I want Lucas' next man to be out of the closet already.

Ferry mentioned it in an interview in January. We don't know exactly when it's going to happen, but it's going to be soon. In another interview he also mentioned that his previous love interests were closet cases and it's possible that he hinted at it being different this time. We'll just have to wait and see.
