This is great news, since he is the one director of FoQ who has kept us constantly informed via Twitter on the progress of his shoots. Today he posted among other things a picture of what will be "Vaquero's house" in that chapter

Last night, Javier Calvo Sr. tweeted he'd appear once again in FoQ, this time in chapter 77 (7x07), the one Javier Quintas is getting ready to start shooting. I suppose this means he will reprise his role as Fer's father. Let's hope it is for comedy purposes.

Tweeted to Jonathan Ruiz Camino yesterday, this screen capture from the preview for chapter 73 at the end of tonight's chapter:

It gives a glimpse of Jonathan's announced cameo as a TV reporter. He can be seen on the right with a video camera. On the left, the girl next to Yoil is the new episodic character of Peque, a gipsy girl who'll be around the school for a few episodes. I am not sure exactly why yet, but she'll be creating problems. The part will be played, as announced a while ago, by Denise Maestre. Also appearing for the first time in chapter 73, Xenia Tostado, who'll be part of Alma's "prostitution" storyline as Dafne. Finally, in the same chapter, we'll see for the first time the character played by Víctor Palmero, a student who's part of Jon and Álvaro's gang, bullying Salva.

As Javier Quintas is getting ready to start production on chapter 77 (7x07), possibly next week, there appears to be a break in production. Àlex Batllori left Madrid this morning for a long finde in Barcelona, and Sabrina Garciarena briefly flew back to Buenos Aires. So I am assuming shooting has wrapped on chapter 76.

Javier Quintas also tweeted his compliments to several actors about the most "awesome/horrifying" sequence in the history of FoQ, which will be part, you guessed it, of chapter 75. He had just watched it in the editing room, with a great part of the rest of the chapter. Three more weeks to wait.

Alma begins to work in the world of the night

Alma has got her scholarship for the US but she needs € 15,000. It seems her parents can't assume that charge becaue they are in up to their necks with a mortgage. And Alma decides to start working in the world of the night.

Yoli has managed through her own merit alone being elected as students' representative in the Zurbarán, but Daniela won't make her life easy. Taking advantage of her friendship with Enrique, she manages to be at the head of a school newspaper, from which position she hopes to keep control over her fellow students and take her revenge for Yoli's electoral success.

But the main victim will be Salva, focus for the fury of Jon and the new gang of baddies in the Zurbarán. Driven by Álvaro, Jon will fight Salva for the job of graphic satirist in the newspaper, and he'll do so rubbing him where it hurst the most.

The newspaper will be also the eye of the storm for Sara and Verónica. The literature teacher still hasn't accepted her new flatmate, but she'll have to ally herself with her, in organising that new extra-curricular activity.

Meanwhile, Xavi is not happy with just one, as he can have both. And he uses a portrait contest as an excuse to get closer to Verónica, while he continues his relation with Sara. Both are feeling special because the artist has attentions for her, but secrets are not easily kept in the teachers' house, and truth will come out in a way that will be embarrassing for the trio.

As to David and Fer, they begin to suffer the consequences of taking Román into their flat. On the one hand, he seems like the perfect housemate, but his friendly relation with David is very close, which soon awakens Fer's suspicions. To top it off, David is having some weird erotic dreams which, in Fer's opinion, can only have one protagonist, Román.

Differences between Olimpia and Enrique come to a head with the appearance of Peque, a gypsy student, who wants to fight stereotypes and study to create a future for herself. What to Olimpia is a study in determination,is only to Enrique an opportunity to promote the pedagogical excellence of the school. Again, the principal imposes his views, but Peque will be the one to suffer the consequences.

More spoilerish actually what's been coming from Javier Calvo's Twitter. He was supposed to leave today for a brief trip to France (he would have been back on Friday at the latest), but had to cancel because he's been sick at home with a fever. Chatting with a friend, he described on a jocular mode what appears to be one of the crucial scenes of chapter 75, the one that results in the "bloody Fer" pictures we saw a few weeks ago. He wrote:
"I am dying... looking at the sky, falling on my knees in the rain, with my arms stretched out". So a very dramatic scene that will probably be the cliffhanger at the end of chapter 75.

Today, with a little luck, we can expect pictures from the set by Javier Quintas, who continues production on chapter 77, and by Javier Calvo Sr, who'll visit the set and take photos. The latter also mentioned that in tonight's chapter 73, we should pay attention to Alma's storyline (which really gets started in that episode) as well as to a new character who's being introduced. I think he means the character played by Víctor Palmero who will play an important role in chapter 75.

Yesterday was teachers only, apparently, for chapter 77. Today, we have some nice pics with students. But before that, an emotional reunion with Gonzalo Ramos (Julio), who's come to say hello to his old co-workers.

Chapter 74 (7x04): Content and Form

David keeps having dreams of his ex-girlfriend, although he doesn't dare tell Fer anything. Fer knows about it, but he is exactly like David, he doesn't have the slightest idea of how to face that problem. Luckily, they have Yoli who'll give them a hand, and help find out whether David is again feeling for his ex, or if it is something different. The couple is once again faced with an obstacle with unknown consequences.

Meanwhile, Jon has become the most charismatic student in the Zurbarán, thanks to his doppelganger in the school newspaper, "The Devil on Wheels". The number of his fans keeps growing. Álvaro can't help feeling some jealousy when he sees this, even though he is Jon's friend. This will lead him to try and show to everybody that he can be as tough as Jon, and more...

On another front, in spite of her new status together with Daniela, Teresa still has an account she wants to settle with Alma. She decides to got for it frontally, but Alma is no easy enemy to tackle and Alma dodges every attack of Teresa with ease. But Alma is more worried with leaving behind her her brush with prostitution, which has allowed her to get the money she needed to go to the United States. Everything is under control, as long as someone doesn't stir the topic... someone like Teresa.

At school, Verónica is fed up with her students' spelling mistakes and she decides she'll fail all those who make them. This creates a conflict between teachers and students which will put to task Yoli's talent as a delegate to be on the side of all her fellow students in what they see as unfair.

But Verónica has other problems to worry about, beside spelling. Sharing her flat with Sara and Xavi has become more complicated ever since what happened in the previous chapter. While she tries to make peace, she finds out Xavi and Sara still carry on with their affair. Annoyed, she calls on Vaquero to break up the couple. At the end of the day, Verónica is into Xavi and Vaquero into Sara. Although helping, Verónica will try not to betray her new found philosophy of doing things in a cool, not crazy, way.

Meanwhile, Olimpia blames Enrique for Peque, the new gipsy student at the Zurbarán, dropping out of school. Enrique denies any responsibility, since his view is that he did what he had to do. Olimpia's problem is how to get Peque to come back to school while teaching Enrique a lesson.

Javier Quintas then remarked they were now shooting fight scenes. "We spend all day between fights and kisses".
As one of his followers was noting that the only student missing on the shoot was Fer, adding "Take his picture, so people won't get worried", Javier Quintas responded: "He doesn't have much in this chapter but he is in it; the day he'll be here, we'll take pictures, ok?"

Speaking of Javier Calvo, as I mentioned on Tuesday, he cancelled a brief trip to France because he was running a fever. So he stayed home instead and took medication. He's been following the events in Madrid taking place in Puerta del Sol: since last Sunday, protesters have convened, occupying Madrid's central square, asking for "real democracy", denouncing corruption in major political parties and demanding a solution to the terrible unemployment situation (important local and regional elections are to be held on Sunday). This is how Javier tweeted this short video on Tuesday

with the caption: "Allons, enfants de la Patrie (the opening line from the Marseillaise). He's now saying he wants to go to Puerta del Sol today.

Also, last night, as he was following the broadcast of chapter 73, he did comment on his own performance:
"So what's up today? I am playing a bit the fool for a change. I love clowning, and the great time we're having"

Then to the writers Jaime Vaca and Carlos Ruano: "You can get me naked without making me jealous" ;D, to which Ruano answered "Don't give me ideas... We can still send you a new set of lines for chapter 77"

Then one of his followers commented on the impressive basket Fer displays as he plays detective, and Javier responded: "Ha, I hadn't even noticed!" ;D
