Vencer la culpa is the latest installment in a popular telenovela franchise called Vencer. Anyone know if anything came of the following clip? If I understand correctly the hot dad's elder son was gay and he kicked him out. I don't have high hopes since Mexican novelas have some of the worst gay representation - a drastic regression after Aristemo (the network/producers must have gotten death threats or something). Which makes it all the more surprising that this story seems to involve a younger teen.

Looks like this new Max Original series Te quiero y me duele will have some queer male content, although I am cautious with it being an homage to the telenovela genre from Mexico and there's no clear sign of gay romance - only of a gay bashing. (Of course.) The actors involved look to be César Díaz and Pablo Carnes. Premiering on August 17. Just finished all 9 episodes. It was ok. It didn't get much screentime. The gay bullying was only very minor, thank god. Massive side eye to the writers giving the pansexual guy a hetero sex scene before a gay one, and the gay one was pathetic, a split second, mostly left to the imagination. Like... one of them was fully clothed, meanwhile one was shirtless, a short kiss and the scene ended. Meanwhile ALL the hetero sex scenes were a lot more explicit, including one hetero scene by the one pan guy himself. I'm SO disappointed. The pan guy had more scenes with women than with his supposed love interest. He had two kissing/sex scenes with women. It was offensive and insulting. It's such a shame because I did like the gay couple, I thought they were cute and had chemistry, but it was ruined by horrible writing and the disgusting double standard.

Can't believe we still have to deal with this double standard. Elite has had explicit gay sex scenes and not suffered for it, and HBO used to be the king of pushing boundaries, so what gives?

Episode 11 shows them having sex. But it's basically like 10 seconds maybe and even with that I'm being generous. Compared to all the straight sex scenes they showed, this was basically nothing

If you want a good gay LatAm storyline, watch the telenovela Como La Vida Misma from Chile. The couple is already nicknamed Thiaselo (Thiago+Jaselo). That storyline is so much better. They nailed the angst and the coming out nerves. The guy playing Jaselo is amazing in the role and the two guys have great chemistry. Of course, since this is a telenovela, don't expect sex scenes. We will barely get a few kiss scenes (they have only kissed a couple of times I think, they hug more than they kiss, lol). But the overall story is a million times better than the dreck that was TQYMD. I posted a kiss clip in the post above, please check it out. Some Thiaselo scenes with English translation here: vm.tiktok.com/ZGJWSEeJp/

(I had wanted to say in relation to this that even gay kissing scenes were not guaranteed on telenovelas, since I remember at least two in recent years which had gay couple who never smooched onscreen - although they had no issues kissing their female beards or even appearing half-naked in front of women.)

Globo's musical "dramedy" Rensga Hits! has already started shooting their second season. Originally produced as a Globoplay Original (their streaming service), the show was such a hit online that they decided to air it on TV this past month in anticipation for the second season. The best part: They didn't cut anything of the Gay storyline on the show! Yay! People all around Brazil were able to see all the hot kisses between sertanejo music idol Deivid and his hunk bodyguard Kevin! Can't wait for season 2!

Yes, you're right. Just a few years ago there would be no kissing. Also, while Argentina has been more liberal with depicting gays on tv (including kissing and having sex), the same has not been the case for Chile, the country in general is more conservative. This is a big step forward imo. They kissed again this week btw, and it was a great kiss. Watch it from 5:53 (the kiss is at 7:45)

Gay character with his husband and daughter in "The Boys" spin-off Gen V: There's a bunch of gay sex in the comics (like Homelander and Soldier Boy) and the series just straightwashed it. I hope they give us something good in the spinoff.

I hope they give us something good in the spinoff. Didn't The Boys have a lesbian storyline? They only have a problem with the gays? Yeah, no. I won't be watching the spin-off. This is insulting and offensive.

Brazilian thriller Últimas Férias premiering on Nov. 8th looks to have a gay couple on its main cast, although their placement in the cast poster suggests they are secondary leads at best. And I'm not sure if it's the same blond guy kissing a girl later on. He is played by Michel Joelsas who of course had a prominent queer role in another Brazilian series, Boca a Boca - I didn't recognize him with the haircut, blond dye-job and facial scruff! His boyfriend seems to be João Oliveira who also played queer on LOV3. https://www.instagram.com/p/CyOkimVuHB9

Does anyone know if Pacto De Silencio on Netflix has a gay storyline? Gay actor Martin Barba has a role in it. I'm not sure if he plays a gay character though, which is why I'm asking. It's not available here in Norway yet, I wonder if it's only available in Latin America (possibly North America too). Perfil Falso was not available here either. Weird.

Haven't watched it yet myself but I heard that Martin does get a male love interest played by Daniel Medina and they sleep together in an episode.

I heard there's a gay storyline in netflix miniseries Bodies (Corpos). Just finished this. The gay storyline was good, even though it didn't get much screen time. It still had some very cute scenes. Also A+ for at least implying gay sex. What annoys me though is the fact that out of the four stories, the gay storyline got the least amount of screen time. Why does this ALWAYS happen? So sick of it. Anyways, the little we did get was good and the actors had chemistry. It also had an open ending, I'm so glad it didn't fall into the bury your gays trope. I'll give it 6/10. The show in itself was not my cup of tea (I'm not interested in sci-fi), though it was decent I guess.

Absolute Beginners is a Polish mini-series on Netflix about two best friends (a woman and a man) making a movie together. One of the characters, Niko, is queer. He doesn't get much of a gay storyline. There is one scene, but I don't want to spoil too much. Just know the series isn't very gay at all, so you'll likely be disappointed. I know I was. This is why I post it here instead of making a thread for the show.
