This is a thread for all members to give their suggestions and feedbacks on how to make the forum better. And of course all the suggestions/ideas/feedbacks provided will be appreciated.

I have the following suggestions: For each individual thread, can we have: - The spoilers topic stickied. - Individual topic for the individual episodes. - Individual episode topic should include: video clip, screen shots and a short gist of the episode. - Have a topic that contain a list of all the music/songs that are being played in the background of the episode. And also maybe we should have a thread especially for gay-themed movies. Maybe that way, we can introduce and recommend those gay-themed movies that the members have watched. And of course, if anyone has any pictures/media/resources/articles on the shows/actors, please kindly upload them!

Don't know how threaded you want the whole thing to be but useful threads might be:
- A thread for each other in their forum (so people can gush about them or discuss any outside projects they might have) - A picture thread - A fanart thread (or a fanart forum for all of them together?) - If there is a demand for it, threads in different languages (like "Deutsche DeRo thread" oder "Deutsche Verbotene Liebe thread")
I have seen that a lot of Verbotene Liebe forums distinguish between a picture and a picture discussion thread. Same for fanfiction or spoilers. So if you click on the picture/spoiler/fanfiction thread, you really find only that while the discussion takes place elsewhere. Again, don't know how useful that would be for this forum. Though I should just mention it.
Also, most message boards I know have an Off Topic/Random Chatter section. And maybe on this board it would be practical to have a subforum "Gay non-daytime" for stuff like Greek, Brothers and Sisters or QAF.

I think it will be better to have an episode topic. So people can go to the specific episode to find the resources and discuss that particular episode. I think it will be neater and easier for future reference. And is it possible to have those clips posted on the blog posted over here? So members can do a discussion over here and non-members can go to the main blog for the clips etc if they do not want to join in the discussion. And of course a picture topic will be perfect!

Is there anyway, if we can transfer those stuff posted on JSF forum over here especially the VL and Hollyoaks stuff with the respective contributors' permission? Post the clips in individual topic with the title listed as the date aired and if possible episode no. will be good. And will you be 'sticky-ing' important threads, so they will not go missing? It's so good to be part of a new forum, slowly building up the forum.

Not 100% sure but that was the impression I got from his blog comment. If not, I am sure he will see your request on it.

The OT stuff is cool though I spent years in the QAF fandom and am personally wary of that show but I have faith in y'all that it won't turn out like my other foray into the fandom.

I think it would be neat btw, if there was some sort of particular format for episode thread. Like the date for the episode, or the number and maybe a short headline about what happens. Like
2832 - Oliver and Christian go for a walk 12-03-2008 - Pool is Cool
Or just something that will make it easier for people to find a particular episode they are looking for, particularly since soaps have so many episodes.

Exactly. That's what I'm tryin to bring across. And of course a small gist about the particular episode. Plus maybe an music guide of each episode if any music/song is being play in each episode. That will be very useful.

*hides* I know you guys are still testing, but on the long run, I think the pictures for the different forums are a bit big. However, mostly, I think they should ideally have the same size eventually, regardless what size that is

One last suggestion, how about making a subforum for the episode threads? Can you make a subforum to a subforum on these type or boards?

I suggest that the forum names and links on the background (the images of the couples) be changed from dark blue and black to white. They are near impossible to see in those dark colors which makes the board difficult to navigate.

Wow, cannot believe how fast ya'll have the clips up and running. Question: can anyone start a new thread in each show's forum? What if you just want to just talk about the show in general and not relating to any particular clip?

Could we have a Subtitling/Translation sub-forum? I have this idea of having small internet based teams of people doing subtitles for our favorite shows... even started witting a primer about it on gaydaytime.proboards52.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1206899094The idea is having people capturing the video feeds on the story country of origin, maybe even doing a dialog transcription and then passing that material to someone else to do the translation and/or video subtitle generation. This process has already been informally going on with the Christian-Olli story with IvanIV providing high quality videos and Nana and the others doing the translation and subtitle thing... but we can make it a little more formal and funnier as a teamwork project. So, for each series there would be a team of: - Video capturer(s) - Transcriber(s) - Translator(s) - Subtitler(s) What do you think? * Runs to hide on the corner*

Great idea, apollux. I would love to have subtitles for the newer Roman and Deniz AWZ clips, especially if they are on the way to reuniting eventually.

Another suggestion, going back, it seems that people prefer one big thread for discussing VL as it was at JSF. Maybe we should do that, because with one thread per episode a discussion is divided and people want to talk whether there's an episode or not. The videos and caps could be linked to a blog for easier reference, or there can be an index thread for this. Or even a separate thread per episode, where the multimedia material will be repeated and nothing else. What do you think?

I still think it might be useful to put all the episode topics in one subforum just for "Episodes". Because since it's a soap there's bound to be dozens and dozens episodes, so any general topics would likely disappear quickly. Here is an example of a board like this. Episode Forum: www.andreas-jancke.de/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=8Separate General Forum: www.andreas-jancke.de/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7It amuses me that I apparently have no idea what the board actually looks like, because I have an override that makes any background white and any writing black.

That way if you re-watch an old episode you can go to the corresponding thread and do comments about what happened back then without interfering with current events. Once the dust settles on actions occurred on old episodes, the corresponding threads will slide down the forum page, leaving space for fresh conversation about current events. If you have one single thread for all the episodes it will be hard to get up to speed for newcommers, and will be kinda hard to find post about the current events since people will also comment about past events and everything becomes mixed... like it was tarting to happen on the JSF and the Olliver and Christian thread that reached more than 30 pages !!!! By the way, having one thread per episode doesn't mean that people can't start threads to talk about things that doesn't pertain to a single episode.

Yeah, but if all episode threads are in one forum that also makes it easier for newcomers to find a specific episode, no?

Unless we can have a subforum for the individual episodes, I like the way the each episode in each thread. It's neater this way, rather than lumping everything into one thread. That would not be user-friendly esp for new users.
