Yep! This show is from Argentina (airing everyday on weekdays). It started in January this year, but only recently they started developing the storyline between Junior (who's in the closet) and Blas (who's gay and out).

OK, so I just saw the new episode. Highlight to read: I'm triggered. I hate, and I mean HATE with capital letters that Junior punched Blas just because he couldn't deal with his own insecurities. WHY OH WHY does this always happen in gay storylines? If a guy laid a hand on a woman you can bet your ass he would be arrested for assault, as he should, but when it comes to gay storylines it's ok?! WTF?! Nope, I'm sorry, but what Junior did was wrong and I hate that they went there with him. I was horrified seeing violence in a gay storyline yet again. It happens far too often. I barely wanted to continue watching the episode after that, but I did. I thought they would redeem what he did somehow, but nope! I was so excited for him to come out to his friend (or brother? idk who that guy is, but they seem close). But nope, of course he chickened out at the last second, ugh. At least when he thought back at how he wanted it to go he admitted to having feelings for Blas... that is something I guess, like at least he admitted it to himself, but ugh.. why oh why did he have to hit him?! It seems completely out of character too. He doesn't seem like a violent guy at all. This seems entirely plot driven instead of character driven (I guess I shouldn't expect too much though, as this is a telenovela, I guess shitty characterization is part of it, sigh). My guess now is that they only "saved" the coming out scene for maximum impact, i.e. he will try to apologize to Blas, for some god forsaken reason he will eventually forgive him, they will kiss and someone will catch them, I could write this in my sleep. I was SO excited for this next clip, but today's episode made me seriously depressed. I'm not even sure I want to watch anymore. I always get my hopes up. FFS I'm so sick of this shit. Whatever, rant over.

Just saw the new episode (highlight to read): There was so much sexual tension between Blas and Junior in the new episode (not subtitled yet) omg. I'm just sad nothing happened. I usually enjoy slow burns, but this is ridic! I mean.. I just want some kind of breakthrough, it doesn't have to be about Blas and Junior getting together either (though that would be the dream ofc). I would be perfectly happy with him just admitting to someone else than himself that he has a crush on Blas and/or that he's gay (or bi, or whatever he is). Basically, I want something to happen soon with his sexuality or his relationship with Blas. I want to stay optimistic, I have been disappointed about telenovelas before. Caer en Tentaction being the last one, where they teased us with Fede coming out, then it never happened. His storyline never even got a resolution, then they made him a killer. I just can't. Anyways, my point is that I know Argentine soaps are different, they show gay kissing and have even showed gay sex in the past. They don't have any problems with gay storylines. I just hope it won't be different with this, are they chickening out, is that the reason for the slow burn? Who knows. Like it's been 20 episodes (aka more than a month) now with NOTHING happening between them.. WTF?! I just want something, anything, to happen soon. Like I said, I'd even be happy with Junior coming out. I wonder if they will wait with that though, maybe they'll save it until he finally kisses Blas and someone catches them or something, would be a typical soap moment, I guess we'll see. I think I just have to be patient, but it's not easy lol.

I actually don't see anything "abnormal" about the pace of this storyline at all overtherainbow  As someone who have seen hundreds of telenovelas from all over, I can confirm they are generally pretty slow in development, and I actually feel this one is a bit faster than usual (just to show you how slow they can get a lot of times LOL). I understand the anxiety (and frustration with other soaps), but still, the show is only ending in September so they need to stretch storylines to still fill almost 5 months daily. This particular storyline was already on the synopsis from the very beginning, and people have been waiting since January for it to start developing. I don't get your worry about them "chickening out"... Aside from the fact that nothing really indicates that (everything seems to be developing just like everybody thought they would), this show in particular skews very young in demographics, so it wont have the problem other telenovelas had in dealing with an older and more conservative audience. I've been enjoying myself with the show... i'm pretty confident they will do a good job with it. |

Like I said: I just want something to happen related with his sexuality. I'm sick and tired of watching him chicken out of coming out and him spending more and more time with Blas without having the guts to tell him how he feels. How many episodes do we have to watch them dance around the subject?! Like come on. Turns out I don't have the patience for this after all, it's moving at a snail's pace. Nvm, I'm back on team Blasnior lol. Spoiler warning, highlight to read: The three flashback scenes were really well done. It might not move as fast as I want it to, but I have to admit those scenes made up for it. Blas giving him the bracelet, then recognizing it when giving him tips on how to box literally had me in the feels, damn that got to me. And of course the flashback scene of the infamous "it didn't mean anything, we were both drunk!" kiss. Well.. they cut it off before the kiss, but still, it was pretty damn cute. And then the scene where he tells Simona how he feels, I ship them as friends, I love their friendship so much.

Wow, this storyline can be so good and so bad at the same time. Spoiler (highlight to read): Everyone is kissing each other, except Junior and Blas. Those flashbacks in the episode before the new one were cute, but still no kiss. Then we get this new episode where nothing happens yet again. You have Junior and Blas hug each other after playing video games, then stare at each other, as usual, then nothing. Then in the preview for the next episode you have one of Junior's friends throwing herself at Blas, not understanding what GAY means. I think I get what the writers are doing, they pair Blas up with someone to make Junior jealous so he can finally act on (or at least admit) his feelings for Blas. But why did it have to be a girl?! Ugh. Like.. sorry, I really don't get it. Does this mean Blas is bi? Does he have feelings for her too? Or is it just one sided with her throwing herself at him again? If that's the case, why doesn't Blas say something? I don't know, it's all so annoying.
