It was a nice episode (at least for them), but Paulo has a hard work in front of him taming Miguel's character, because that was not the way to talk to Marta. Yes, the poor girl is a bit delusional, but she is an amazing friend to Paulo (and Paulo really needed her and that was Miguel's fault).
Now they have to deal with Jaques, and they are in a difficult position but not as difficult as their boss, because what he did could make him end in jail.
Miguel seems to have accepted his feelings for Paulo, but given his inner homophobia i hope he won't end bieng a Christian Mann, cheating with every woman who cross his path

Paulo definitely has his work cut out for him with Miguel and his temper. I have little faith in or love for this pairing in general considering all that happened, but what was good to see was Miguel admitting he's been an ass. He could have said anything or nothing at all, and Paulo probably wouldn't have cared. How quickly the heart forgives when it gets what it wants. Though in Paulo's case, the forgiving part probably happened right after each of his misdeeds; he just got frustrated over time. I also liked that the thing with Marta is probably going to get nipped in the bud quickly with all three of them knowing where things stand right away.
The scene at the Shopping Place between Rita and Romao was hilarious to me. Even his "seductive" ways are nothing but creepy. He's so smarmy to the core that it's entertaining. That is one of his shortcomings as a villain though. He just doesn't know how to charm his way through things; the people he's managed to rally with him, like Henrique and Alice, already had common inclinations. They are not people willing to see another side of him or to go to bat for him if they stood to lose anything themselves. That lack of quiet charm (and inability to really get anything except through scheming), paired with Alice's impulsiveness and lack of control could be their downfall.
Maria's mother is so tired with this unfair life that is doing her and her alone so, so wrong, it's almost funny. Although I don't like Nuno's behavior at all, I'm no fan of the way Vera and Rafa look to be handling what's brewing between them. I'd rather she just left her husband before starting anything with his "friend"; I don't see how cheating or an affair would help anything. They're figuratively leading separate lives already anyway.
Rita as prime suspect; at least Andre will cut that short quickly. The detective might be moving fast, which is not terrible, but she's too stuck on getting to the bottom of things quickly and doesn't take enough time to really examine all evidence and possibilities before shooting blanks with potential suspects. But it's a soap after all. When things move on this soap, they move so fast and in so many directions, and the mourning remains lacking and a bit superficial with most characters, which can make viewers like me a bit detached from those characters as well.

The detective is making some big mistakes as Rita said, she is accusing her even without knowing if the gun was really the weapon that killed Fernando, and frankly making that kind of accusations to someone in Rita's possition could really cost her her career.
Afonso is right too, she is totally centered in personal reasons, and there's a lot of other possibilities, the fact that Andre was kidnapped not so long ago should make her a bit more cautious.
Romao has not social skills, they bear him because he is Natalia's husband and of course the Alburquerque's are a powerful family, but he should be careful, because if Enrique became aware of his machinations he will smash Romao in no time. It's nice to see how Enrique boycotts continously Romao's efforts even not being concious of that.
Ana is quite hysterical and she is very rude to her husband, but she has some good reasons. It was not the first time her husband did something like that, and he was advised by Ricardo and Manuel. He is a nice guy but he is plain stupid. Of course, Ana is simply too proud, it's true that Teresa didn't the correct thing, she should have called her and give her an explantion, but come on, she was offered a job inmediately, and it was not pity as she said, Rita needs a new worker and she knows Ana is a good worker.
At least Paulo stopped Miguel about Marta, Paulo is too eager to be with Miguel and it will be better if now that he knows that Miguel really wants to be with him, he is able to find some balance in their relationship. Because even if Miguel's behaviour is easy to understand (wich frankly is not an excuse) if he doesn't stand his ground their relationship could end very very bad. Fortunately Paulo is patient, but i think Miguel is more reluctant to accept his homosexuality (probably bisexuality at least in sexual terms, but the fact the he never was in love with a woman make me think the he probably will end in the gay spectrum in terms of relationships) than accept that he is in love with Paulo

Afonso is right too, she is totally centered in personal reasons, and there's a lot of other possibilities, the fact that Andre was kidnapped not so long ago should make her a bit more cautious. She's really focused on the crime of passion. The revelations she's been uncovering have been pretty juicy though, it can be understandable, lol. Romao, for all his scheming and arrogance, really has little clout. He may make threats and use dangerous means to get what he wants, but he hasn’t built any power for and by himself. The fact that Henrique pulling his support from him is actually a viable threat against him is telling. People just roll their eyes as soon as he opens his mouth, and no one can blame them. He can definitely be dangerous and scheme his way through things, but has no real power to back it all up and stand on his own at the end of the day. Paulo and Miguel are running into trouble quickly. No one stays happy for long on this soap. It’s mostly drama over romance, and romance is most often also used to further more drama. There’s really nothing redeeming about Jacques. He’s dirty to the core. As for Marta, she’ll be all right. She’s gained an amazing friend in all of this. I’m ignoring the Rita and Afonso thing for now. I’ve noticed it the moment I started watching, but it’s just one of those things falling in the too fast lane for me. No judgment should be made on Rita for how she might seek comfort or just affection, but it’s still too soon considering everything for me. Josefa, seriously, when Rita says to leave it, just hang up the damn phone. No need to just blurt out that very expected question the journalist has as if it’ll make Rita talk to them, especially in front of a guest. That was just ridiculous. Well, now Ana has another excuse to have a freak-out. I know she’s justified in many ways to feel like she generally does, but there was no need for added reason for her to blow a fuse when she was finally coming around.

Anyway Romao is way smarter than Alice, Alice plan to blackmail Antonio was way absurd. Threating with Carlota's pics to a man like Antonio only means one thing, you end in jail accussed of child pornography, and Romao knew it. His plan is way smarter.
Jaques is an asshole, but his plan to blame Paulo is utter ridiculous. They finding the plane, so it's a question of time they find the black box, and with the black box no matter what he says or what he makes the copilot (what a jerk) says (and he is far from being convinced to lie). It's really a test to Miguel, with is far more comfortable with the whole thing that i expected. I don't think the storyline will last, they probably will move on on another thing soon. Showing Miguel's small problems to accept his feeling could give them something to do for a good while.
For Marta was maybe a shock, but it was what she really needed. She was really going to fall for the commodity to fall for Paulo, and it's true that he treated her better than any other man (even before asking her to lie for him) but that feelings only show her fear to be hurt again. Now she will be in Ricardo's orbit again.
And Natalia is really changed. In my opinon Romao is going to have a lot of trouble from her, and i doubt he really expects that.
The inspector is really annoying, she made a big big mistake (and a very obvious one). I don't know if she is pasionate or ambitious. The truth is she is not very intuitive and she is falling (and i think she will fall again) for all Alice's lies

There are some characters who just get ideas in their heads and immediately go along with them, with no regard for consequences or repercussions. Alice and Jacques fall in that category. Jacques doesn't even have the co-pilot in the palm of his hand yet and he's already making those big plans.
But as smarter as Romao's plan is, I still find it pretty amateur of them to get their hands dirty this way and with great potential to explode in their faces. This kind of manipulation leaves traces. And they won't have anything much to fall back on, with Natalia, Romao's lifeline, who's been getting out of his hold, even more so now, Henrique who's getting slightly closer to his wife and farther from Romao's way of thinking, and Rafa who's no longer Alice's go-to boy. Finally, the detective would then become more suspicious of Alice.
Miguel makes more sense when he directs his resentment in the right direction. Someone else making Paulo understand that the company and his job are not everything. Miguel doesn't see it as the end of all things like Paulo seems to have sometimes.
Carlota's friend needs to be developed a bit more, maybe with the apparent situation with her parents, because I really don't see anything to care for in her. But she's certainly not a rarity in real life.

Carlota's friend is danger with legs. She is lying to both her parents and she seems to have some taste for older men. She is not exactly what Carlota needs in her life, not at all.
Miguel is getting a rough coming out, but at least not in terms of sex, he seems to be more than comfortable with having lots of sex. Jaques is extremely stupid. Trying to blame Paulo (i suppose that's only an strategy to face them when they sue him) is the worst thing he can do. First, sooner or later the black box will appear and he will be on trial by then wich will explode in his face. But even without that, firing them he is putting the focus in his company wich is something he should avoid because they are not in a good position, and the publicity will be very very bad. First because he is putting people's life at risk (even if it wasn't true, the bad publicity will be there), and showing his homophobia doesn't get him new clients either. And he is stupid enough to be forced to confess everything by a good lawyer. The guy doesn't have filter, and a lot of people know about his politics. And of course, there's the fact that the copilot was more than happy dennouncing Miguel and Paulo, but seemed less than thrilled about lying about the accident. If he is smart, he knows that the truth in a case like that sooner or later is found.
I find Ana extremely annoying, i know she has reasons to be angry, but she is very judgamental wich makes impossible empathize with her. It makes me be on his husband side, he is stupid beyond belief, but not a bad guy. Maria has really a lot of patience with her parents.
Alice is simply not smart. Everything went well for her because Fernando and Andre didn't use their brains near her, and Rita was fooled for her sob story. But now her limitations are very clear. Her strategy should land her in jail in no time. Romao's plan is dangerous for them too, but he is going to use the inspector, and she is so focused in solve the case that she is not looking in the right directions. But their plan is going to backfire sooner or later, and i don't want to be in their places when the inspector discover that she was used.
I like the new Magdalena, she knows how to annoy Romao and Enrique without being frontal, and that strategy is working really well now.
I hope there's an explanation for the fisherman hate for Rolando, because right now all seems out of the blue

Miguel can be such a baby. All reason the guy might have flies out of the window when he drinks. Paulo might have to continue to keep alcohol away from him for a while, as it seems to be Miguel’s coping method of choice. If it continues to be a pattern each time they hit a rough patch, it might become less funny for Paulo over time. At least it’s not at Paulo that he lashes out this time. The detective can seem annoying knowing what we know, but she’s not so bad actually. There was enough to have someone at least interrogated after the gun was found, especially since Andre had been lying so much before. She might have mostly only circumstantial evidence, but it makes sense to follow every lead, as inconclusive as it might end up being. Eliminating suspects might be helpful in the process of finding the right one. I liked that Afonso told her to beware of Alice though. I continue to find that plan quite stupid and easy to unravel, and with potential to make Alice (and Romao) even more suspicious. Romao’s problems just won’t end, with Ricardo getting more involved in the business, lol. I hope there's an explanation for the fisherman hate for Rolando, because right now all seems out of the blue I was going to ask you what was up with that Ramiro guy, but apparently it’s all a big mystery then. He seems so vindictive though, something's got to give.

Yes, Paulo needs to lock the minibar. Curiously they seem to calm each other quite well. At least Paulo is very conscious that Miguel will need time to adjust. I think he will have some problems is social events, and i'm not the sure if he is accepting his sexual orientation, he accepted he is in love with Paulo but that's a different story. Anyway i don't think they will follow the Christian Mann style, or at least i hope so.
I really need that Alice and Romao's plan explode in their faces. The plan is very flawed (i hope they don't go to the delisional telenovela style complicating all things) Duarte knows the man who blackmailed Carlota, Carlota is not going to tell that Fernando was the guy, and when the police investigate the computer they are going to find that the pics are there only for a few days, way after Fernando's death. The inspector made a big mistake with the gun and i hope she will be smarter this time. Afonso prevent her about Alice, if she felt this time is because she is more stupid that i thought at first.
I hope they don't drag Fernando's murder till the end of the show. First because if we take Belmonte (wich is the following telenovela) as example, O beijo do escorpiao is very far from ending. They really had surprising and twisting storylines in the past and i hope they have a lot more surprises. I remember Ninguem como tu, wich was the only portuguese telenovela that i really followed (the actress that play Rita was one of the main characters there too). That telenovela had a murder mystery too, and it dragged till the end with a quite unsatisfactory resolution (yes they surprised with the killer but it didn't had much sense).
Romao motivations are not clear either. He has a lot of power right now, and i don't understand why he really risk his position at the bank. With Natalia more and more out of his control, if Enrique realizes that he is betraying him, he is done

It's so funny when your evil plans bite you in the ass. I think Alice is going to take what she deserves soon.
And Magdalena is becoming my favourite character, since the coma she is fantastic
As expected Miguel is not at his best. He is childish, and i don't think that will change soon, and as expected is way easier for him to accept that he likes sex with Paulo than accept any feeling. And of course their new situation requires go public to have any chance of winning a legal action, and he is far from ready

I think the show needs some light storylines, right now everything is quite heavy. I hoped the teens holidays will be light fun but no, tons of drama.
It's incredibly how stupid are polices in soaps. And frankly i don't get Rafa at all

Drama is the golden rule in this novela, it’s just how the tone of this show is; but at least it has pretty decent actors and fair stories for the most part to carry it. At the same time, for me a lot of novelas are hilarious because of the acting at least, so not much chance of that happening here. Humor, romance and fluff for themselves (not as conduit to drama) are limited or extremely short-lived. Tina and her family bring the very occasional lightness, but it’s mostly passing comic relief rather than actual lighthearted story telling.
They really seem to be stretching this murder mystery with all of the peripheral scheming and plotting while the actual search for the truth itself is kind of going around in circles. At least there are other storylines moving outside of it. Speaking of which, Romao’s isolation is getting sharper, I wonder if/when he’ll truly snap. There have been a couple of occasions already, but the calm and cool mumbling and threatening aren’t working so well now and he shows more and more signs of slipping out of anger.
