I thought it would be fun to have a thread about favorite and new gay movies as a kind of recommendation guide as well as just discussing them. A couple of favorites of mine, off the cuff: Latter Days Juste Une Question d'Amour Get Real Come Undone (French movie. Not a favorite but I did like it) Soldier's Girl There are more but my brain is farting right now. Time for more coffee.

Jeffrey (even if only to see Captain Picard as an interior designer) Sommersturm! I also watched Dirty Laundry after it was recommended by afterelton, mostly because I have seen the lead Rockmond Dunbar on a lot of tv shows and I have to agree with afterelton. It's a sweet comedy. It's true that it probably defines family friendly and it's probably more about black family life than it is about gayness, but I thought it was really sweet. I almost wish I would have watched it without knowing the big twist. It's a story about a writer being asked home to a family crisis and they only reveal he is gay about halfway into the movie. I also loved the scene where the family finds out the lead character is gay because his boyfriend shows up and his mother has a melt down not so much because he is gay, but because he is dating a younger white guy. "Sheldon, didn't I raise you better than this! A white guy! How could you.".

I actually watched the sequel first and loved it. When I later watched the first part I was pretty disappointed. Some other movies I like: Shortbus (<--one of my all time favorite movies!!) Boy Culture Dorian Blues (thought it was funny as hell) Mysterious Skin The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green (again, really funny) The Bubble (sad) Cachorro (touching)

I thought that Eating Out 2, was much better than the first film.
I've seen a lot of gay films, but here's a list (of what initially comes to mind) that I've throughly enjoyed.
Keiller's Park - Swedish film, very sad, but the performances were amazing. Brokeback Mountain - Whenever I hear guitar strings, I think of this film. Les Chansons D'Amour - I can't stop talking about this film right now. Possible Lovers - Spanish film Law of Desire - You can never go wrong with a Pedro Almodovar film. Seeing a young Antonio Banderas in any film of Pedro's an absolute joy.

Two that I thought were very good:
"Presque Rien" "À cause d'un garçon" Both of which feature the lovely Jeremie Elkaim
and also - a strange little movie called "The Wolves of Kromer" is very watchable

What about Wolves of Kromer and No Night Is Too Long? Both star Lee Williams... very cute. First one is kinda silly/out there but still sad and good... + the other dude is hot too.
Both movies are on youtube.

Wolves of Kromer is very cute - I especially like the scene at the end with the two boys and granny dancing in Heaven. **Updated after I search for some photos** James Layton is very cute: as is Lee Williams:

Shock To The System Third Man Out I liked these two as well... I loved that the stories were not focused on being gay; it's not about the drama. It's just about a detective solving a case and he happens to be gay. He's happy with himself and in his relationship with his husband. I loved the scene in 'Shock to the system' where Donald tells Sebastian about his past; I actually cried during that scene. Never thought I would be crying when I started watching that movie... Btw: Chad Allen is really .

They look so adorable together. And I love the part that Timmy was lying in the hospital saying something that when he died, Donald should find himself someone ugly and fat. Hahaha. I thought 2 of them look lovely together!

I agree... That's probably why I liked the movies. (But they aren't among my top favorites. I liked the stories, but it aren't movies I want to watch over and over again... Exeption made for the scene I mentioned before: that one I did watch more than one time.)

Who has seen Hellbent and/or In the Blood? ITB was on Logoonline for awhile, might still be there. I was interested in seeing what a gay horror movie was like. Might have been bad stories by Hollywood standards but it made for a hot cast and some hot scenes
