LOL. Do you think they've been pushing too hard to make Sonny out to be "manly"? I don't consider myself exceptionally masculine; I definitely have certain effeminate mannerisms (that neither Will nor Sonny appear to have) yet I've also done all the things Sonny has: traveled the world, triathlons and rock-climbing (okay, not the same as mountain-climbing, but still). I think it's more about him having a broader range of experiences than Will, who for the most part is stuck in Salem. That could, in fact, be an interesting conflict to play.

Maybe the show's going a bit overboard in their portrait of Sonny and his "manliness", but lots of people have issues in associating being gay to ONLY being effeminate/camp.

I don't think they are at all. He seems like a 'regular guy' who's gay.

They're simply establishing the character, who he is and what he's like. I don't think it's anything more or less than that.

No mention of Will in the TV Guide article on the July 4th special episode. But I'm pretty sure he'll be in it. In the show, the teenage characters imagine themselves and other Salem residents in scenes from recent Oscar-winning movies. Gabi's fantasy is The King's Speech. I assume she will play the Queen and Will the King?

We won't see much of them over the next few weeks, and I'm not surprised.. other storylines are more on the front burner right now. Anyway.. I know we'll have some more scenes with Will and Gabi, and that should be good. Hopefully Will can show even more of his nervousness and distantness around Gabi, and she'll probably freak out even more. lol.. at least it'll make for some good drama!  Oh yeah.. and I read the new spoiler saying Sonny will talk with Victor. It's about damn time! I am really curious as to how he'll react. I have no idea.. could go either way, but I have a feeling grumpy ol' Victor won't take it so well.. |

I think there is going to be a build up to it over months. We still haven't had Will show any signs that he might be gay or is questing his sexuality.

I think we have seen signs... they are planting seeds right now. Will wanting to take things slow,, delaying having sex with Gabi, resisting kissing her and confused about his future are all signs of what's to come when he falls for Sonny |

Thanks for linking the photo gallery, mrfixit. So it looks like Will is in The Social Network fantasy. But where are the photos pertaining to The King's Speech? If they're doing movies that were nominated for the 2010 Oscar for Best Picture, surely the WINNER deserves a mention?!?! Anyway, here's a sneak peek for the special episode. Sonny parents seems to think that Victor will have a problem with Sonny being gay.Their reaction and the faces they make when they mention Victor.So i can't wait to see Victor/Sonny scenes

On screen, Sonny and Victor have never interacted. Justin and Adrienne left town right after Sonny was born. But the show tells us that they have interacted over the years and Sonny apparently cares about his Uncle Vic.

I agree, it sounds really awful. Then again, it sounded awful from the beginning when I first heard what it would be about. I never really expected much of this episode, and I knew Sonny wasn't gonna be in it, so.. yeah. I am more looking forward to Sonny in the week that starts on July 11th

Given that it's a non-canon episode, it could have been shot at anytime. Maybe before FS joined the cast. Sami and Rafe aren't in the episode either, which is strange. It is silly since these people would never hang out together for starters.

Sonny is just too adorable for words and I cannot wait for his interaction with Victor and how he will react to finding out his great nephew is gay. Should be quite interesting to say the least.

Okay I just read the recap for tomorrow's episode (aired today in Canada). The Days Cafe link I posted earlier is still valid. Will/Gabi have a few short scenes. No development on the gay front. So I have to ask again, what exactly did Ken Corday mean when he said he was slowing this story down? How much slower can it go? The developments are tiny and spaced well apart. Unless Dena Higley actually wrote a totally random scene of Will/Sonny screwing each other's brains out with no buildup whatsoever, I don't see how and why the story needed to be slowed down. And come on, this should have been a summer story, when all the teens are (allegedly) tuning in. That's not the way it's playing out. No teen would watch all summer for this pace of storytelling.

I agree Justinate.This storyline is as slow as a turtle not even moving.I mean we do get to see Will and see that his starting to have problems with his relationship with Gabi.Sonny very short scenes with his parents.And very awkward scenes with others.I want to see more scenes with Sonny/Will

The information I've heard is that they changed scripts but didn't have to re-shoot.
We know what happens with Sonny next week, so that ball is rolling. Then we have to wait for Will to come out, so I doubt it's going to be a quick thing. Gabi has to find out and so does his extended family.
I'm hoping they take things slow but not too slow. I want a buildup of the couple, some romance and not just cheap roll in the hay. And with the new writing team trying to bring back romance into the soap, hopefully, that will work out to our advantage.
