the degrassi blog had a summary of the first episode of season 12. Here is the relevant part for Tristan: PLOT B SUMMARY: Tristan and Maya are in French class when Tristan notices Cam. Cam joins their group and Tristan stumbles over himself talking to Cam because he has a crush on him. Tristan tries to get the scoop on Cam through Owen, but Owen tells him Cam is straight and that a hockey player wouldn’t be interested in him anyway. Tristan talks to Maya about being bummed over Cam. After she walks away Tristan notices Maya left her Facerange page open and that Cam has left her a message, so Tristan proceeds to talk to Cam under Maya’s account. At lunch Cam approaches Maya and talks about lending her “Lost” dvds, which she is confused about at first. Eventually Tristan tells Maya about talking to Cam through her Facerange and she urges Tristan to go talk to him. Tristan approaches Cam, but is made fun of by him and the rest of the hockey players. Later, Cam tells Tristan and Maya that he had to play along with the rest of the hockey boys and apologizes for his behavior.
Tristan begs Maya to continue to let him talk to Cam through her Facerange and she reluctantly agrees. They tell Cam that they’re both auditioning for the play. Tristan tries out, but is disappointed when he doesn’t land a role and sends Cam a text as Maya saying she didn‘t make it either. Cam and Tristan bump into each other and Cam gives the advice to Tristan that he intended to give to Maya: that she shouldn’t accept no for an answer and talk to the director. Tristan does so and Eli offers him the part of Julia, only he’ll be playing a guy named Jules since the musical is now story between two guys. Tristan messages the news to Cam as Maya, which leads him to get caught and have to confess to Cam that he’s been using Maya’s account to talk with him. this was the channel that uploaded Adam's story for awhile: www.youtube.com/user/DTNGAdamIt looks like it hasn't been active in a long time and a lot of the videos are gone. The vimeo videolink that I posted a couple messages above this one is the only recent clip that I have seen that is actually focused on either one of them. I've looked every so often for Tristan videos, and have come up with very little. |

The ending of that trailer is ominous. Please, no more dead gays. I know it might be realistic and Degrassi is never one to shy away from real social issues, but ugh. I'm hoping the fact that they show it in the trailer means that it's a fakeout and won't lead to the otherwise obvious conclusion.

Nothing like cute boys kissing to start a season! But Miles is playing with fire - he is always at odds with his dad and seeking to hurt him, but this is a new low, and will totally backfire on him.

Wow, these boys are a mess, both of them. Miles has issues with his father, Tristan is quite desperate to be loved. To make things worse Miles is now in forced "insensitive mode" (which he learned after his needs were ignored by everyone). I'm suprised that Tristan forgave him so quickly when he saw a fancy car. Gold digger anyone? Miles has feelings, we saw it when he was talking with Maya but Tristan appears to be too self centeres fulfilling his own needs that he can't see it. I think they're both going to get hurt and won't end up together. Happy ending is very unlikely (I hope I'm wrong).

From what we've seen on the show of their past romances, I don't think either of them has ever really been in a healthy relationship, so I'm sure they're probably going to have a very rocky road ahead of them. Miles' issues with his father will only make things worse. Stefan Brogren (who plays Principal Simpson, and is also a producer for the show) does these weekly recap videos called "The Principal's Office". This is the one for the most recent episode: He suggests that Miles looked like a "bisexual Ferris Bueller" (starts at 1:20) when he pulled up in his car at the end. A lot of people seem to be taking that as confirmation that Miles is definitely bisexual, regardless of how his storyline with Tristan might turn out. I've been watching Degrassi for over 10 years now and if Miles is in fact bisexual, it will be a first for the show. They've done just about everything else, so it's kind of surprising to realize they've never had a male bisexual character before. |
