calaeb, I'm so sorry. Unfortunately, these people do everything that they can to pass on their bigotry, hate, and racism to their poor unsuspecting children some of whom will grow up and discover that they are gay. Hopefully, those kids will have other positive experiences that make them reject their parents attitudes.

I know it's been awhile since my last post! Life gets in the way sometimes! First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to do the English translation. It really means a lot to me. I'm glad the boys have made piece with Beni and they are living with him again. I'm also glad that Beni is back to his old comical self. I've always felt that Beni could come to love and care of Iago like a second son.

I see you guys and your translations have been put to work at Youtube where Alejandro has made good use to accompany the video of this episode. He thanks you and hopes you don't mind. I'm sure you don't as he has done so much for the Max,Enric and Iago fans. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j5-tW4W_moI know that I really appreciate the translations so soon after the show finished. It's so frustrating watching then waiting for days to know what they all said. Inakitxu75 began giving daily summaries of the action straight away but sadly he's vanished for the past 2 weeks. Anyway, once again thank you to you all for your work. I can only speak for myself of course, but I'm sure that dorothy won't mind seeing her work put to good use. I take it that alejandro translates from catalan to spanish, is that right? Take care, JF

Hey, everybody. More than happy to contribute. I've loved watching Max and Iago in Alejandro's videos. Also interested in the translation process -- I can only make sense of the Spanish subtitles. Does anyone out there understand Catalan?
Thanks neand48 and Alejandro0720 for making these videos accessible!
Cheers!

Hey, everybody. Well, I tried to translate episode 1613 from Friday, the 27th. There are some question marks to indicate where I'm really reaching, but this is definitely the gist of it. My Spanish isn't good enough to do this on a regular basis! Help!
Please feel free to correct me or make suggestions. Thanks!
B: And I made a sign that says “Beni and Max.” What do you think? It’s the name of my new churro stand. C: Very good. B: Good? Fuck, it’s fantastic! Do you know what happens? When one feels good, but from the inside, eh. When…when…when you are at peace with yourself everything changes. Dazzling! I don’t know if I can explain it. C: You explain it. B: It’s knowing how to do things. (?) Now at home it’s something else. And Iago, too. Because Iago, here, between us, is a good lad and he loves Max not even the way Romeo loved Juliet. (?) And you two? I mean, you and Max? C: Well, not as well as you. B: This can’t be. Clara. It cannot be. It can’t be that a mother and son are like that. You two have to fix things. Fuck. Listen, you know what? And you can’t tell me no. Tonight you come to dinner. Do you like gazpacho? C: I don’t know, Beni… B: If you don’t want gazpacho, endive with anchovies. C: It won’t please Max. And Iago even less. B: If you aren’t together for more than 5 minutes, how are you going to make up? By telepathy? What you have to do is to be together for some time, not passing in the kiosk or the café. C: Now isn’t a good time. Max just moved back and Iago and you are adjusting… B: Do you want to be on good terms with Max or not? C: Of course. B: Then let me do this. (?) My intuition tells me the time is right. C: OK, I’ll go to dinner, but with one condition: I don’t want it to be a surprise. I want Max and Iago to know, I want you to consult them. B: Done.
M: Do you want coffee? I: Yes, thanks. Without coffee, I don’t know how I’ll make it to work today. M: And you, Beni? B: If I have another cup, I’ll end up climbing the walls. At Peris’ I had a couple and here I had another one. I: I need several. B: Listen, Max, this morning I ran into Clara. We were talking and chatting, chatting…and you know how one thing leads to another and bing, bam…and we’re talking about life and you and family…and all of it, and bam!…it occurred to me to invite her to dinner tonight with the three of us. And so you can talk for a while and try to fix things. First we’ll have endive with anchovies and second, whatever you two choose. She’ll bring the dessert. What shall I tell her? At 9 or at 10? M: Why did you invite her without telling us? B: Yes. No, you’re right. What happened was something impromptu. I didn’t take the time to call and let you know or anything. The idea popped into my head and bang! It was out of my mouth. Do you know what I mean? M: Fuck, Beni. B: What’s wrong? Listen, she’s your mother. You should make peace and talk things over. I: It could be a rather uncomfortable dinner. B: What’s the problem? Max and I have had problems and we’ve solved them, right? And the same with you. Why does it have to be so difficult with Clara? M: Because it is, Beni. There are many difficult things to put behind us. You don’t get to decide when we should fix things. B: She’s your mother. If it was someone else I would understand and I’d be on your side. I don’t understand why you have to let all this fucking time go by. If you want, I’ll call and tell her you don’t even want her to come to dinner. Do you want me to call? You decide.
C: Good, I’ll bring dessert. Till later, Beni. Goodbye. Max said “yes,” or so be it that I’m going to go. (?) S: Are you sure? C: Beni’s right. Letting time go by isn’t going to fix anything. S: It’s one thing to not want it to go on forever, it’s another to go too fast. I know that Beni’s doing it with good intentions, but these things can’t be forced. And when a third person puts himself in the middle, they usually end badly. C: I know, but I’ve had enough of being so careful, do you understand? With Berta, by giving it time, by waiting too long… S: Clara, you can’t compare. C: No, I know, but I’ve already decided. I want to go to this dinner.
(doorbell) B: I’ll go. Hi, Clara. C: Hello. B: Come in, the boys are here. Clara’s here (to Max and Iago). C: Here, put this in the freezer. It’s ice cream. From the new shop that opened in palm tree plaza. B: Great! Come on, sit at the table. In the end we made something to nibble. Yes. To start, eh? A beer? C: Sure. B: Come, come. Let’s sit at the table. C: Pass me a napkin? B: Sure. Napkins… You got here ok? C: Yes, on the metro it’s just a minute. B: Do you like olives? They’re in ginger and garlic. They have a distinctive flavor that tastes rich to me. They’re good. C: It’s curious, a customer gave me a recipe that has a salsa of olives with ginger. If you like, I’ll make it one day and you can come and try it. B: Great, right! I’ll stuff myself (?)! M: It will have to be after exams. I have a lot of work right now. C: As you like. B: To me, ginger always reminds me… Do you know those books of 5 or “7 secrets?” About those that pass the day eating meat pies with ginger beer? I was mystified because I thought “They let them drink beer?” And the outcome was that it wasn’t beer, I don’t know if I’m explaining myself. (Big ? here) C: Sergi loved those books when he was little. B: That’s why he dedicated himself to the police force. That group always going around solving mysteries and all that. C: I don’t know. Maybe so. B: I think those things, I don’t know, always correspond…it’s something like a calling. Like Max with his studies, and me with the churro stand. It’s something that we do because we know how to do it. C: (to Max) How are the exams going for you? M: I think I’m going to stay behind. (?) Because this year I couldn’t focus on school. C: Sure. (to Iago) And how goes your job? I: I’m sorry, but I can’t. C: Pardon? I: Max, I thought I could go through with it, but I can’t. I’m sorry.

Thanks for the translation, Dorothy. The whole situation is very sad. It will take time for Iago to make peace with Clara.

Hi everyone, I'm Dani. Nice to meet you all. Dorothy, I want to greet you especially and tell you I'm sorry we couldn't coordinate our efforts with that last translation! I didn't know this forum existed until Art told me about it yesterday, and I wasn't able to get my account activated in time to tell you that I'd already sent mine to Alejandro. Anyhow, wonderful job with yours. In the future, hopefully we can work together I don't normally translate things for alejandro except when his usual translator (rascalbit) is busy, but I think he may in fact be busy next week, so we'll see.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. It was fun to do the translation, but it took me a long time because I'm just not fluent in Spanish (not even close). My Italian is better (and Catalan sounds more Italian than Spanish to me), but the subtitles are in Spanish so that's what I work with. I love the Max and Iago story (and the actors!) and would like to see it get more attention, so maybe Dani and I can work something out (Hi, Dani!).
Hope you're all having a good weekend!
P.S. Beni...a fun character but a pain to translate.

Thanks dorothy This ep was an absolute gem... It took a while for it to load (probably because time of day)... Going to watch it again... like now.
When Iago tells Clara that they both love Max... how sweet. As long as Max and Iago continue working through their problems the way they did today... I'll be a happy camper.

I didn't understand a word of it, but I got the general jest if it. I love how Iago knows how much Max loves and misses Clara. In order to make Max happy, he was willing to take the next step with Clara and make peace. Now on to the sexy stuff! Iago in the morning. . . and in boxer shorts. . .need I day more! Then Max/Iago couch scene! Right now I'M the one mad at Clara. . .how dare she pick that moment to interrupt our boys! Can't wait to read the translation.

Here's a summary at least:
Well, Max is clearly not too pleased with Iago this morning. Iago offers to go to the market to refill the fridge, Max claims it’s not worth shopping on Monday; nothing is fresh. Iago asks if Beni is sleeping and Max tells him he’s working at the churro stand which he’s told Iago “a thousand times.” Iago asks Max what’s wrong and Max tells him he doesn’t want to argue. Iago says he’s apologized for what happened on Friday but found the whole thing too hypocritical. They bicker. Iago says Max is being unfair to him; Max says Iago is doing the same to Clara. Max says Clara made the effort to come to dinner even though it wasn’t easy for her. Iago reminds Max he’s just agreed to live with Beni and that wasn’t easy for him. They continue to bicker.
M: You’re right. I’m asking too much of you and I have no right. In the end I’m only your partner, right? I: You’re going? M: I have an exam within half an hour.
Iago meets Clara. He tells her that they’re in the same boat because neither can really forgive the other for the past. He tells her that he loves Max too much to stand in the way of their (Max and Clara’s) reconciliation. He tells her that as Max’s partner and mother they will be part of each other’s lives forever and that they need to put up with each other or risk losing Max. They both agree that neither wants to risk losing Max.
Back at Beni’s… Max is still in a bad mood. He can’t study; the exam didn’t go well… Iago offers to make him something to eat. Max wants to go out and take a walk. Iago says to wait for him to shower and he’ll go, too. Max says Iago takes too long to shower and he wants to take advantage of the daylight. Iago says he won’t shower then, and tries to coax Max into making out on the sofa (while Max grumbles that Beni could come home any minute).
Clara comes in and tells Max that Iago came to see her that morning and made her realize she needed to talk to him. She tells him that when she was in danger (someone from her prison past was trying to kill her), Max was all she could think about. She thought that at least if she was gone, Max wouldn’t be alone. He would have Beni. And he would have Iago. Max agrees. She says she knows Iago will be with him all his life and that pleases her, too. She hopes they can both forgive her for all that happened. She says that’s all she wanted to say and is going to leave when Max stops her for the hug.
Clara very happily tells Sergi that she and Max have made amends, but he interrupts her to tell her that Chus (the prison enemy that wants Clara dead) has escaped and Clara is in danger.

Hello everyone,
I sent my translation to alejandro about an hour ago, so hopefully he'll put it up soon. I'm going to post it here though because I know people want to see one.
By the way, in the future, I'm probably going to leave it to dorothy to do the translations. She does a great job and it'll be easier for everyone.
Well, here you go:
ago: Good morning. Max: Good morning. Iago: Max, if you want, I'll go to the market and fill up the fridge. I have an afternoon shift today. Max: The market is a nightmare on monday morning. There's nothing fresh. Iago: Then I'll go to the grocery store and get what I can. Is Beni sleeping? Max: Beni hasn't gotten back yet. He's taking all weekend to open the churrería at night, Iago. I've told you that a thousand times. Iago: Max, are you not over this yet? Max: Look, I don't want to argue. Iago: I've already told you that I'm sorry for what happened on Friday, but it's a little difficult for me to be such a hypocrite. Iago: You're being unfair with me. Max: And you with Clara. Iago: Max, let's not start this again, okay? Max: Iago, it wasn't easy for Clara either to come here and have dinner with us, but she did it. She forced herself to. Iago: And me, I'm not forcing myself at all? Max: On Friday, absolutely not. Iago: Max, four days ago I agreed to come and live here with Beni, which I didn't find easy at all. It seems like you don't remember that anymore. Max: Of course I remember, Iago. Iago: Well think about it a little before you bother with me. I can't do everything at once. Max: I see. Iago: Max! Max: No, you're right. I'm asking too much of you and I have no right to. After all, I'm just your partner, right? Iago: Are you leaving?! Max: I have an exam in half an hour. Bye.
********
Clara: What do you want? Iago: Max is a wreck. Clara: That's not my fault. Iago: I didn't come here to argue. I just want you to listen to me for a minute. I know you can't stand me and you never will. And I don't blame you for it. I've made Max suffer and you'll never forget that. Beni has been able to, but you won't. You're different. Clara: Listen, where are you going with this? Iago: That in this, we're the same. I can't do it with you either. But you're Max's mother, and you two have all the right to rebuild your relationship, even though we don't get along. Clara: On Friday you didn't feel that way. Iago: On Friday I was wrong. And because of that Max is suffering. Clara, I don't want to be an obstacle between you two. Clara: And how do I know that you won't change your mind in a few days? Iago: Because I love Max too much. I'm his partner, and you're his mother. We'll always be part of his life. And if we don't want to lose him, we have to learn to tolerate each other. Clara: I don't want to lose him again. Iago: Me neither.
********
Iago: Hey Max: Hey. You've finished pretty early. Iago: You and your stuff, I'm not going to bother you. Max: I don't understand any of what I'm reading. Iago: Well rest a little, Max. How'd your exam go? (Max shrugs) Iago: Are you hungry? Do you want me to fix you something to eat? Max: What I want is to get a little bit of air. I'm going to take a walk. Iago: Now, Max? Max: Yes. I'm sick of being closed up in here all day. Iago: If you wait for me to take a shower, I'll go with you. Max: No Iago, you're slow in the shower. I want to take advantage of the daylight. Iago: Max, then I won't shower. But come here a minute... (They kiss) Max: Come on, Iago, Beni could arrive any minute... (Doorbell rings) Iago: Wait, ok? Clara: Hello, Max. Max: (to Iago) Is this your doing? Clara: Max, Iago came to see me this morning, and he made me see that I should come and talk to you. I haven't stopped thinking about you all this time that I've been in danger. I thought that if I disappeared, at least you wouldn't be alone because you have Beni, and you have him. Max: Yeah. Clara: I know that he'll be with you your whole life, and I would also like to be. I want us two to be, and I want you guys to forgive me for everything I've done to you. Alright, well I just...I just wanted to say that. See you later, ok? Max: Clara, wait. Clara: What? (Max hugs her.) Oh Max, son...thank you.
********
Clara: Sergi, Hi. This afternoon I went to see Max and we've truly made peace. This time we've really fixed things. I promise you. Sergi: Clara... Clara: I've invited them to dinner on Friday because I don't want things to grow cold... Sergi: Listen to me for a minute, please! Clara: What? Sergi: You're in danger again. Clara: What are you saying? Sergi: It's Chus. She escaped during the transfer.

I really like it when Max and Iago refer to each other as their "partner." It reaffirms the strength and depth of their relationship and commitment to each other throughout all their trials and tribulations.
