I really like it when Max and Iago refer to each other as their "partner." It reaffirms the strength and depth of their relationship and commitment to each other throughout all their trials and tribulations. I agree with you... it brings something refreshing to the world of soapland.

I was going to comment that the use of "partner" (multiple times last episode!) seems to be a new thing for them. There was a particluar emphasis on the lifelong nature of their relationship in yesterday's episode. Everyone now seems to see them together permanently. It's been great to seem them work through some problems. Their relationship seems very strong. I don't like to read spoilers so I'm wondering where they're headed next. Someplace happy, I hope!

So, the season ends in a few weeks? What does that mean -- how long a break between seasons? Now you have me concerned...

The first time I remember Max referring to Iago as his partner was when they were moving out of Beni's. Beni didn't want Max to go with Iago and Max told him that Iago is his partner so he goes where Iago goes. It was wonderful to hear even under the difficult circumstances.
I do find Beni's acceptance of Iago and even being his advocate with Clara to be a sudden development without a lot of build up. However, I glad that Max and Iago's lives seem to be coming together after all the instability. Of course, this being a soap all this happiness won't last long. LOL!

I agree that Beni's change of heart is pretty sudden - but I think it's also in character. He's an impulsive kind of guy, and plus he's realized that accepting Iago is what it will take to get Max back into his life. I think he also remembers how well he got along with Iago in the beginning, and hopes they can build back to that.

Dorothy and the rest of you Iago fans...just to let you know, from what is being said on the official El Cor forum, it's pretty certain Marc Clotet has resigned his contract and will be featured prominently next season. In particular, there are rumors of a storyline involving Iago's father, but I'm not sure if that'll turn out to be true.

Great news that Marc has re-signed. We are certain that Bernat is also back next season, right?

Great news that Marc has re-signed. We are certain that Bernat is also back next season, right? Unfortunately no...that's the big question mark right now. No one's sure at this point, and it's causing many of of his fans (like me) a lot of stress.

Yikes. Not good. While I would love Bernat to return, he is so talented that I would be excited if he decides to pursue his acting career in the movies.

Here's a translation of today's episode. (Sorry, no Max/Iago.) Alejandro has the video up on youtube; he'll post the translation there, too. (Translation by gwanwyn and me.)
S: You should try to sleep for a while. C: I can’t sleep. S: We’re going to catch her, Clara. C: I don’t understand how she escaped. S: I told you. It was just before getting on the plane. C: They have to transfer a convicted criminal and she escapes them? S: In the police station at the airport they were working on some things. They locked her in a room… C: It doesn’t make any sense. S: Chus had an accomplice that helped her. They had it planned. C: And now what? S: The security cameras caught her while she got in the car. They have the license plate. C: And if they don't catch her? S: All the police are on alert. She can’t escape. C: She wants to kill me, Sergi. She wants to kill me. S: You’re safe here. There are three agents in front of the house and we have your phone tapped. Within a few hours we’ll have found them and it will all be over. Now you should try to sleep. C: You’re going? S: Yes, I have to go to the station, but I’ll be back as soon as possible. I called Remei and told her that today you wouldn’t go to work. That you were sick. C: OK. S: Try to sleep. C: Bye.
********
(Doorbell rings) Max: Clara, it's Max! Open up! Clara: Hello. Sorry, I was in the bathroom. Max: It's just that I ran into Sergi and he told me what happened with Chus. Clara: Yeah, now you see. We're going to be in the same situation all over again. Max: Nothing's going to happen, Clara. Sergi knows what he has to do. Clara: Yes, yes of course. Max: If you want, I can stay until it's time to eat and keep you company. Clara: No, it's not necessary, Max. You have your work. Max: I've asked for a day off from the copy store. Clara: You've asked for a day off in order to study, not to be here. Max: It'll only be for a little while. I'm sure they'll catch her soon and take her away. Clara: First they have to find her. (Phone rings) Max: What, aren't you going to get it? (Picks up the phone) Clara: Yes? Ah, hello Sergi...yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Max has come to keep me company for a bit. Oh, really? Wow, that's good news...yeah, me too...a kiss, talk to you later. Bye. (To Max): They knew the license plate number of the car that Chus escaped with, and they just found out that that car's been seen being filling up with gasoline on a secundary highway near Girona. Max: Do you see how I was right? Clara: Yes. Max: That's very good news, Clara. Clara: Yes, yes, yes it is...yes it is...
********
TV: “And in Baghdad and other parts of Iraq…” S: It’s me. C: Hi. S: Hi. I’m sorry, I wanted to come sooner but things got complicated. C: That’s OK. S: Have you eaten? C: I can’t. I have a knot right here. S: I ran into Remei...she says you've gotten better. C: Yeah, she called me, but I told her that it was better that she didn’t come. S: Sure. C: I made pasta salad, but if you want something else… S: No, the pasta’s fine. We’ve combed the area where they saw the car. We've found it near a rural house. C: And Chus? S: We still don’t know. C: You’re telling me that she’s out there and you don’t know where? S: We’ll find her, I promise you. C: First, she escapes from the police station and then you lose her trail! What good are the police?! Shit! S: She can’t get far. We have the area under surveillance. C: Chus is much more intelligent than all of you put together. She’ll come and she'll do whatever she pleases! S: You’re safe here. The house is watched. You have 24-hour protection! C: I had protection before and that man got in the house! If it hadn’t been for Xavi I’d be dead! S: Don’t get hysterical. Everything will be okay. C: Yeah, Chus will get in the apartment and all will be finished! S: I won’t let that happen. C: Don’t make promises that you can’t keep.

Dorothy, thanks for the translation. Chus' escape is ominous. I wonder Sergi will die at the end of the season.

Here's my translation of today's episode. Dorothy's computer isn't working, but hopefully she'll be back soon Eli: At another moment I would have told them not to leave. Max: And why didn't you do it? Eli: I don't know. I suppose I don't know anymore what's important to me and what isn't. Max: That's not true, Eli. Can Sarró is important to you. Eli: Yeah, that's why I got involved with Ivan... Max: Yeah, but that doesn't mean that he's changed your way of thinking. You've never agreed with him, right? So there you go. It happened, and you enjoyed it...look, these things happen, we don't decide for them to. Eli: The same thing happened to you and Iago, right? Max: Yes, at the beginning no one understood it, but now we're great. Eli: Yeah, but it's not the same. I fucked it up. I shouldn't have let myself be pulled along. Max: We all fuck things up, Eli. And if you doubt that, think about the people around you and see if you find anyone who hasn't screwed up at some point. Besides, now...it's over with Ivan, right? Eli: Yes, of course. It had practically never begun. Max: Then forget about it, Eli. Right now Can Sarró needs you, and you know that. And if you don't do anything, you'll have fucked up twice. ******** (Paquita & Clara. Sergi walks in) Clara: Hey Sergi: Hello Paquita: Hello, Sergi. Clara: I didn't know that you weren't going to come to eat. Sergi: I didn't have to come. I want to talk to you. Clara: What's happened? Sergi: Good news. Clara: They've caught her? Sergi: We've received a call from the French police. They're sure that they've seen Chus. Clara: In France? Sergi: Near Carcasona. Clara: But, are they sure it's her? Sergi: The description was pretty precise, yes. Clara: Yeah... Paquita: It seems like good news. She's fleeing, right? Clara: That doesn't change anything. Chus made it very clear what she wanted. Sergi: Do you think she'd jeopardize her liberty in order to come back to hurt you? Clara: It's that she doesn't need to put her liberty at risk! If she wants to, she can send someone from the other end of the world. She's already shown what she's capable of. Sergi: At the moment she knows that there are a ton of people looking for her. If she really wants to take revenge, she'll let a lot of time pass until things calm down. Then she'll let her guard down and we'll catch her. Clara: And meanwhile? Sergi: Surely you'll be able to return to leading a normal life. ******** Sergi: Excuse me. Just a minute, okay?...Marino, hello. So what? Fuck... (Clara sees Chus) Clara: Sergi! Sergi: What's wrong? Clara: I saw her! Sergi: Who?? Clara: Her! Chus! Sergi: What are you saying?? Clara: On the other side of the street! Sergi: Are you sure?? Clara: Of course I'm sure! She was right there! Sergi: We'd better go home. Clara: Yeah.

Hi! I'm new to this message board, though I've been lurking for awhile.
I've finally decided to join, once I saw the lack of love El Cor seems to be receiving. Which is such a shame, because it really is one of, if not the best soap to prominently feature a gay couple.
While I am a fan of all the soaps featured on here, Max's story was the first one I started to watch, way back when Enric was first coming out. I remember getting into those clips on youtube even not knowing a word of Catalan. I came back to the show with the addition of Iago, and I have to say it's better than ever. What sets this show apart from all the others is Max & Iago are just gay. Period. There isn't anyone in the closet, noone coming to realize their sexuality, none of that coming out drama that seems to be the only storyline that exists with a gay couple. No, Max and Iago love each other - everyone knows about it, but thats the end of that. They have real lives that have other big problems and those problems don't revolve around them being gay. And of course I love the chemistry between good boy Max and reformed bad boy Iago. It's hot!
I think it's a shame it seems to slide under the radar, as these other shows get constant coverage. I suppose it must be the language barrier.
And now - why does the El Cor thread only have a photo of Max? If anyone is able to change the photo I can make a screencap of both Max & Iago to replace it. Thanks, just had to rant~~

Hi Dalia, welcome Thanks for your thoughts about why this show isn't getting as much attention as others. Meidocfan and I have discussed that subject a lot, and like you, we've come to the conclusion that it must the language barrier. I, along with Dorothy (and all the other translators who aren't on this forum, of course!), have been trying to get out quicker translations of the max/iago parts of this show to try to overcome the language barrier a bit. It pains me that this show isn't as popular as others, since it is hands down the best! Not that I've ever seen any of the other ones, mind you, but how could they be better than El Cor?? Anyway, what I'm getting at is, if you have any ideas for how to increase access to the show, let us know! Meidocfan has suggested to me a few possibilities, but of course, all of this will unfortunately have to wait until after the summer break! And this is assuming Bernat continues with the show, of course...ahh so many obstacles! At any rate, let me say in closing that I also think we need a new picture for this board. There are so many gorgeous pictures of Max and Iago! Hopefully someone can figure out how to put one up.

Welcome, Dalia. It is always great to have another Max and Iago fan. Feel free to send your picture of Max and Iago to the mods. I'm sure they would be happy to change the picture.
Max and Iago do rock! IMO, they are the best gay couple in Daytime. I love that that El Cor writers have moved past the usual coming out drama and given them a real soap story without always sending a message. Their love and devotion to each other speaks louder than words and demands tolerance.
ygwanwyn, I hope you and Meidocfan come up with ways to make Max and Iago more accessible. Let us know if we can help in any way.

[glow=red,2,300]Welcome aboard dalia[/glow]
Agree with you wholeheartedly.
To a certain extent, it is a shame... yet at the same time a good part of me would like it to remain that way a while longer. We all have at least one favourite vacation spot where we know we can go and totally relax, a place that has not yet been invaded by thousands of demanding, and often obnoxious tourists. El Cor is my ideal 'vacation spot'.
Excellent point. It should be changed. I wish I had the technical know-how... I'll see what can be done.
Trust me... that was not a rant. ;D

dalia I contacted GayTime and his answer follows:
Hey JF!
I admit that EL COR probably doesn't get the attention it deserves. As far as changing the board picture- that's easy! Just sent a picture of Max and Iago to gaydaytime@gmail.com. Look at the other pictures on the board to see what 'fits' with the general style (both boys either kissing, hugging or standing close). I will gladly replace the current picture!!!!!
Best,
Wolfi
So since you can screencap (something that puzzles me no end), I guess we should have a photo of our boys adorning the message board in the near future, right?
Take care,
JF

Excellent work dalia.
But that's not fair... I like them all too... But I have to pick one, right? Either #3 or #4... OK! let's be honest... I'm partial to a longer-haired Marc (Iago), so I'd go with #3. Talk about wishy-washy...
It'd be nice to have the picture up in the next few days...
Thanks again dalia.
