Thanks for today's episode recap, Carmela. I can't wait to see it with english subtitles. I went to TV3's website and watched today's episode, sorry bernatfan1, but I couldn't wait to see it! I love the fact Beni is now looking out for Iago. Beni knows how much Iago loves Max and how hurt he is by Max's leaving. The people who supposedly loved and cared about Iago, have all eventually left him. His father left home, his mother was killed, and now Max. Over time, I think Iago and Beni will become close and will form a father-son bond. Something I think Iago needs, even though he won't admit it!  I think right now the writers want us to feel what Iago is feeling. . .hurt, betrayal, anger, rejection and a sense of being alone. I can tell you, right now, I am feeling all those things! |

I think that Max will be back. Have they ever re-cast a role with a different actor?

Thank you Benefan1, Michelle and Danielle for all your hard work. The subtitles put a whole new spin on the scenes. My heart tore apart for Iago! The tears were literally running down my face when Max was telling Iago good-bye.
I liked how Max and Iago talked about Max talking in his sleep. Along with Max, Iago's comment about him not minding Max talking in sleep because he would know when Max was cheating on him, but a smile on my face. I also liked Iago's comment about how nice it was to see Max smile. . .it had been awhile. Yes!
I like what Beni said to Max about Iago. "Iago loves you, let him help you, he's a keeper and handsome, too!" Beni is one smart man! lol
I can't comment on Max and Iago's last scene right now. I'm still trying to process what Max said and his reasoning behind it. After everything they went through together, I can't believe Max would just say so long to Iago without a backwards glance. Something just doesn't add up.

Thanks, Bernatfan, Dani, and Michelle! Wow, that's hard to watch (I've only watched the Catalan-only version about 20 times!). Max's behavior is certainly a bit strange. I guess we just have to wait and see where the story goes.

Today (epis 1635), there was a short scene with Iago and his boss at the fruit/veg. stand. I know Max's name was mentioned; however, I don't know what they were saying. I'm assuming Iago went to apologize for his behavior yesterday and his boss let him come back to work. At the end of the scene, a man came to the stand and told them something, both Iago and his boss looked very intriqued!
As the credits rolled, a short clip is seen of Iago and Beni eating at Peris.

Yesterday episody, he talked with Beni (as Beni said to Iago afterwards, in the "churreria") and express him his simpathy for Iago, because he knows how much he loves Max and how hurt he feels now. Rafa offers Iago holydays during the days he needs to feel better (and do a good work!). But today, Iago is working (he seems fine) and talks with his boss about to leave his job because he wants to move away from all what makes him remember Max. He tells his boss he will stay in his job until Rafa gets another person. So, now Iago is leaving Sant Andreu. And the end of yesterday's conversation with Beni, he told him he's leaving Beni's home because he can't stay there if Max isn't (but Beni wants him to stay!, and perhaps tomorrow episody talks about this). For Beni, Iago is like a second son and he knows how much he loves Max. But we know, for this monday's tv program "Tvist", that Iago will retorn with squatters. The man at the end of the scene is talking about a sport jornalist, Johan and Hristo's father (the children that broke with a ball the Peris's window glass that hurted Iago's hand). This jornalist had robbed the personal computer of the Barcelona F.C.'s president. That's what Iago and his boss are listening. I wonder if Iago is thinking about! NOOOOOOOOO to retorn to crime! But, if Max didn't go to Mozambique "to do the imposible" with Iago for Clara, and now is hidden somewhere in Catalunya? Dkellergrl , yes, I think Max will retorn, but nobody knows when, where and another questions like these. And yes, they re-cast with another actor David's role (Peris's son). But I think the original David was the first, and Bernat Quintana is irreplaceable. In fact, it seems they had created a character like Juli who is similar to Max in his beginings. It seems that now Iagomax story is open because producers & Bernat Quintana are talking about his contract. It's said that Bernat is tired of his 8 years' role Max, and it's posible he feels not apreciated by TV3 (his speech in the Nit del Cor Gala). In the oficial message board of TV3 there is now open a fan's post to pressure for Bernat Quintana staying at the series: "Demanem que torni el Max (Bernat Quintana", "We ask the Max (Bernat Quintana)'s retorn". You are invited to register and send messages. |

I do hope Max returns. Partly because so many couples seem to be leaving shows I love at the moment. Also, if this were the end it seems too rushed and not at all fitting.

On the one hand we want to see our favorite characters and stories go on forever, but we also want good things for Bernat Quintana and his career. I'd still love to get another season of Max and Iago!

I loved so much last year Max & Iago story and I'm still angry about how the writers had planned Max exit storyline if that one could be called an exit storyline, cause in the end was like "blah we didn't give a damn about how it ends". I think it's unfair to ask for Max return above all after we knew how Bernat Quintana felt, it's perfectly understable that after 8 years in the same place and in the same role, an actor would like to try something new and I wish him the best. But, what we could have demanded was a good closure for the Max character and his storyline and we would have deserved it and we didn't get it at all.

I hope there is a signature campaign or something that will compel Max to return and for the producers of the show to talk Bernat about another contract with them.
If there would be a Max storyline exit, it should be with grace not in haste.
What we have witnessed is a fast-tracked exit of Max that is senseless and with no believable explanation.
And Bernat should at least be recognized for his work in El Cor. He has gained fans throughout the world for his Max character.
And I pray Carmela that what you told us is true that Bernat will come back even though it is still indefinite. Thank you for sharing that info.

Hi everybody!!! I just received a reply to an email i've send Marc Clotet this morning asking him if we would be able to see again Iago & Max together. He expressed me his own dissappointment about the sudden way Max was leaving Iago, but he assured me that this will not be the end of the relationship at all. He was very clear about the everlasting love of Iago towards Max, even in his absence. On the other hand he told me too that we will have to wait a very long time to know what will happens with the couple. But without entering in too much details, he suggest me some possible "brilliant" final for this two. If the writers doesn't change in the future what he knows for sure at this very moment. Like my fellow Carmela suggested you before, we've open a post demanding the return of Max's character and Bernat Quintana (the actor who plays it) on El Cor's official fórum. So, if you want to put pressure on TV3 and the creators of the show, please log in the official fòrum and support our demand. It doesn't matter at all that you'll write on english. What really counts is to demand the return of one of our molt beloved characters!!! Thank you so much, Carmela, for your recap! iamax, thank you for sharing Marc's e-mail with us. There is hope on the horizon! Unfortunately, we may have to wait a long time! In my heart of hearts, I don't think this is the end of their storyline. There are too many holes in the last Max/Iago episode. I think the writers did it for a reason. . .maybe to give Bernat time off to do his play? I may start a thread to tell everyone how I think their storyline may evolve. I'm going to register at the forum and show my support for Bernat and Max/Iago's storyline. I didn't join before, because I can't speak or understand Catalan. Thanks for the instructions. Loah |
