nothing lasts forever...
too sad though, but I have accepted it.
Although I've found it strange, but the rumors in entertainment industry are about 70-99.99% true. That is what I believe in. It needs further evidence like pics, videos and media announcement to make the rumors 100% true.
But still... I am sad for Bernat leaving. I love this couple that much.

Yes it really seems totally out of the blue Can you explain this Juli guy? Will he be a gay character too or will he just take Max's place as a cute young guy?

Wow. The past couple of clips have been utterly amazing. Max's losing his shit over the frustration of seeing and having Clara in prison and he can't do anything to solve the situation. He always seems to be able to "solve the problem" and he can't this time. I'm glad that Iago's there to help him through this, because he definitely needs the love and support from him.
Thanks for posting the clips.
ETA: Wait a minute...Bernat's leaving the show?! Wow. I'm in shock. Did anyone expect this to happen? I wish him all the best in his future roles.

Hi everyone,
I only participate briefely here to support almost everything meidocfan (ART) has said before. I think that the writers of El Cor suck nowadays, and i don't understand any of their storylines' choices. It's the worst season premiere i've seen in years.
And unless there's something behind his decision, Max is acting like a selfish stupid fool in the last episode (sorry Dani, i have to tell) Even i don't like at all his performance in that scene, for me was totally forced and unlikely. I only save Marc Clotet's, even when he has to tell such idiotic lines. But Bernat's were even worst.
What a shamily waste of a beautiful love story!!! I would preferred the end of the relationship by death of by mutual consent than by the abandon of one of them!!!
Art, last night i was thinking exactly the same thing that you said before. I also remembered the words of Bernat at El Cor Night Gala and how he wasn't feel recognized by his work at the series. In my opinion this has to do a lot with his decision on leaving the show. I only hope that is not for good! And don't worry, all your thoughts and even more are expressed right now on El Cor de la Ciutat official fórum. People are really angry there, well at least some of us. Some others seemed to be very optimistic about Bernat's return.
I don't think the writers are aware of the international following of this couple. They're only worried to do stupid decisions about important characters, and don't seem to be very concerned about the opinion of the audience. Shame on them!!!
Sorry for my bad vibes at the moment, but right now i can't be more optimistic,
Juanjo

I'm sad for Max's departure but above all I'm really angry and disappointed! I don't believe at all that the script writers were surprised by Bernat decision because it's at least six months that the rumour that Bernat Quintana is leaving the show is circulating. Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry because I didn't get my happy ending (even if that is always welcomed) but because it's been a missing oppurtunity to create a great exit storyline for an iconic character like Max, I would have preferred seeing Max going away to heal from Iago's death for example, but going to Mozambico now that Clara needs him more than ever and leaving the guy he said he loves so much, it made appear him like an idiotic selfish jerk. I blame the writers above all others and I'm not optmistic for the future either, especially knowing that Marc Clotet will probably leave the show soon too. And if this rumour is also true (which I believe it is) would it have been so difficult to write them out together? From my point of view they totally ruined the whole storyline making Max acts completely out of character and without any sense.

I don't have too much to add to what Iamax and Valso said so clearly, but I come to expected more from El Cor writers (specially after the brilliant written Iago prison storyline) even if they wanted to break up the couple there are better ways to do it and better script, just watch last year John Paul and Craig goodbye scene at the airport.
To Max exit story they haven't dedicated no more than 5 minutes and few lines. What a shame!

I have to agree this parting doesn't make much sense. Max has always been so devastated at the thought of losing Iago, it seems impossible that he would just disappear so suddenly and leave Iago behind. I'm certainly sad to see their story end (at least for the time being), I always found it very touching. I think I'll wear my rose-colored glasses and hope that they'll be reunited later this season.
Later, Dorothy

It almost looked to me that the writers woke up that morning and thought oh yeah, we have to write that Max character out today. Certainly was not a very good way to do it. The way Max was willing to give up everything for Iago and then Clara, kind of a pitiful way to end it. At least they didn't kill Max off, so there is always a chance for a return. Do you suppose Bernat will be invited to this seasons Gala, and get an award like Cinta did? Doubtful, I'm betting. What really concerns me is that there is no news about what Bernat is doing now. Is he still acting or doing something altogether different. Marc Clotet has already filmed for the Spanish police show, and said he would be on El Cor for at least a few more months. Finally, as requested, here are a couple of pics of the new character Juli. He's definitely not going to replace Max but I think will be a very sympathetic character. Talking to the girls from school. Being threatened by Jofre

Max's exit was definitely done on the fly. It didn't make much sense either. Makes me appreciate John Paul's romantic exit from Hollyoaks even more. Perhaps they plan to have Iago leave to be with Max eventually.
Juli is cute. Thanks for the pictures, Bernatfan1.

Thanks for the interview link! Bernat says the rumors are just rumors and that unexpected things will happen in this season. Maybe he is not leaving El Cor then? I think the writers are just messing with our heads

I'm reassured to read on her that not everyone brushed off Max's exit so coldly as did Dani. What? Believe me, I don't like the way the writers wrote out the character either. But I do think there are facts here that we aren't privy too, and we shouldn't be all that quick to judge. For example, when did Bernat tell the writers he was leaving? IS he even leaving (I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but who knows?) How long did they have to write out his character? What were the circumstances of his departure? etc. As a huge fan of Bernat, it pains me a lot that he's gone, but I do think he did a wonderful job in his final scene. And I understand that he has his reasons for leaving the show, and I also understand that I don't have a clue about those reasons. So, I'm just saying I'm glad he did a beautiful job in his final scene and I'm glad the writers included that line, "no sé quan, pero un dia tornaré" - "I don't know when, but one day I'll return."

What i can assure you is that Iago will keep loving him for a long time!" That made me feel a lot better about the last episode.

So, Bernat is leaving? But he's the one who got me interested in this show in the first place, long before all the Iago SL even. I've also enjoyed the interviews I've seen of him. Cool guy. What is it with all the good young actors deserting the more decent (IMO) soaps lately? Anyway, I hope it's not permanent, and if it is, I can only wish him the absolute best. I've always thought that he's a great, multi-layered talent, regardless of the few imperfections - and thus humanity - in his character.

Thanks, Bernatfan, for the clips and the message!
That last scene of them together is heartbreaking. Poor Iago. Max leaving doesn't really make sense to me, but I thought the performances were wonderful. And I still hold out some hope that Max will be back (even if only for a little while), and sooner than we think.

I felt numb for one day after knowing Max's departure. I thought I accepted it but sometimes when you really love the couple and their stories, it is hard to accept if the storyline has gone awry. Has Max had a good exit? I think not. Although the kiss was gorgeous, it was still heart-wrenching for Max to announce his plan to go to MOxambique. For what? His departure has been really vague. But I don't blame the actors. I blame the writers. Max' departure is senseless, pointless and.... And yeah, I have recently discovered the couple. But when they came back on air, I have already sensed negativity. Do I still love them? I still love the actors. But I thought their storyline was really great until...

I still feature them in my new blog. But I opt for now not to place comments on the new added clips. I plan to update my blog weekly. I might feature the new guy of El Cor if I find him interesting and satisfactory. catursefaves.blogspot.comAnd oh... I almost forgot. Thanks evama for the wonderful clips.

So, there were some scenes with Iago today -- with Oscar and with Beni. Also a brief Oscar/Beni scene. Can anyone summarize?
Thanks in advance!

Oscar & Beni: Beni tells to Oscar he doesn't believe jet that Max leaved. And asks him to talk with Iago, because he needs to and he thisks that, being father's Max, isn't the best person to do it. Oscar agrees.
Oscar & Iago: Iago says Max doesn't love him if he has done him "una putada" (dirty trick?). He feels Max has leaved him, has broken their relationship. Oscar tells to him that Beni is also suffering. Iago answers he feels bad and he won't put a good face because other people want to feel good with him.
Iago & Rafa, his boss: Iago doesn't do a good work, has bad humour and goes out early form his job. He says he has a low wage "salario de mierda". His boss tells him he will fire him if he isn't the Max's boyfriend. So, Iago answers that Max has leaved him, so he can fire him.
Keep atention: Isabeleta visits the Rafa's shop; she was married with him, but, like the girl from de flower shop remembers, afterwards she became lesbian and now has a relationship with another woman, Clarlotte, and they have discussed also. Isabeleta is now as bad tempered as Iago. This is one of the stories now in El Cor. GL couples in el Cor are now broken!
Beni & Iago: Iago tells to Beni that his boss has give him some days of hollidays. Beni says Max loves him, but Iago doesn't believe it. Iago remembers when Max visitated him in jail, and how he now feels alone at night in Max's bed. He doesn't mean to continue living at Beni's home.
