I'm a bit confused. Has the character been written off the show? Or, is the actor just not appearing on the show for a while (which is different) That's what I was trying to figure out. If a character leaves a show, any show, usually there will mention in television press (even after the fact) if the character is a lead character. They have to explain it somehow if the actor has left the show permanently otherwise the story doesn't make any sense.
Mane came out then disappeared so are we meant to believe he has left the show for good and there will be no more mention of him or is he just on a break and will return for sure at some point in the future?
That's what I'm unclear about.

I've loved Josh Thomas for years so I'm excited to see he has his own show. Looking forward to watching. He's hilarious and very smart.

If there was ever a time for EJ to be standing there behind Sami looking bemused and menacing, it would have been when she was talking to Nick. That would have sealed the deal. Why the F wasn't EJ there? He usually drops everything when Sami calls. UGH!! Lucas is useless!

Will is not going to lose rights to his baby. That is fact. It's just not gonna happen not matter what Nick does or what Gabi is willing to go along with.
I think calling Will spineless just because he isn't handling the situation the way you want is kind of overkill.
He's a good man with a good heart who is trying to do the right thing and not always sure what that is.
And if his family REALLY cared, they would all be there supporting him instead of stroking Nick's ego. The only people even TRYING to help him are EJ, Sami and Lucas and they aren't really doing anything except yelling at him or trying to tell him what to do.
I have never had a pregnant woman in my life who I loved who was carrying my child but I would imagine it clouds one's judgment. There is a lot that Sami, EJ, Kate and Rafe COULD be doing to help protect Will's right since they all know what Gabi is capable of and they also know that Nick is not trustworthy.
But they aren't doing anything and they have a lot more power than Will (who is basically an unemployed college student). Short of violence, there's not a lot Will could do to Nick. But it would take ONE conversation with Hope or Maggie telling Nick to back up and stand down and he would have not choice.
That is what I find frustrating. People seem more angry with Will for not being as calculating as Gabi and Nick and not being able to anticipate Nick's evil plans than they are at Nick for having the plans and Gabi for letting Nick run her life.
Gabi is not DELICATE. She's pregnant, not sick. She has no other health issues and the only thing that is stressing her out is her own guilty continence.
All Gabi would have to do is go to Sami and EJ herself and reassure them that she is happy to take the paternity test and she will happily sign something that says she and Will will share custody once the baby is born.
Instead, Gabi is suddenly unable to do anything but look for the nearest fainting couch and look woobie.
Gabi had plenty of energy when she was stomping over to CG to get up in Sonny's face. THAT is the real Gabi.
But if she was smart, she would nip the entire thing in the bud and ignore Nick because SHE KNOWS WILL.
Since when has Will let Sami rule his life? Never. Nick might not know that but Gabi does.
I just don't think Will is really at any risk of losing custody of the baby at this point. Papers or no papers, it's just not going to happen.

Gabi is evil. Period.
If you happen not to watch those episodes where Gabi was at her FINEST, allow me to RECAP
She didn't just do that stuff to Melanie but she also put Chad on blast (when he was trying to protect Melanie from the horror of knowing her "good" friend had left her kidnapped by a psycho) just so she could bust up Chad and Melanie's relationship and she immediately took Nick's side even though she'd known Melanie for years and had only known Nick for 5 minutes when Chad hit him thinking he had abducted Melanie again.
Melanie and Chad were BOTH traumatized by her kidnapping (as was Daniel) and it's weird that DOOL never really dealt with that fact and how it effected Chad's psyche in terms of how he dealt with Gabi and Nick when Nick first got released. Also Melanie and Chad has already been kidnapped and threatened with death earlier in the year so it's not like either Chad or Melanie were at their best emotionally.
So Gabi is not only evil, calculating, selfish and stupid, she is heartless and bitter. She couldn't just let Chad and Melanie be happy.
Chad never wanted Gabi and long before she hired someone to pretend to stalk her, Gabi had been doing all these little thing to try to break up Melanie and Chad like erasing messages from Chad's phone, leaving her earring under his pillow so Melanie could find it, she tried to go on vacation with them because of her "stalker". She MOVED IN with Chad so he could "protect" her and had all of her friends terrified that she was being stalked. She also broke into the Mad World website and wrote mean things about Melanie on the message board.
People always play down what Gabi did to Chad and Melanie but it was months and months of calculating that culminated in Melanie being kidnapped, Gabi knowing who had her and yet she didn't tell anyone. Ever. A week after Melanie had been gone, they tracked down Andrew's house (where Gabi was) and she hid in the room Andrew had held Melanie in and when they stormed in thinking they'd find Melanie, they found Gabi "passed out" (faking that Andrew had taken her as well). Then there was another week of folks looking for her, the police, David, Brady, Chad, Victor, Maggie, Will, Abigail, Sonny et al with Gabi knowing the entire time where Melanie was. Gabi knew that Andrew was psycho and intended to hold Melanie indefinitely and she literally talked to herself about how that could work out for her because now Chad had to fall in love with her.
Those are not the actions of a "good" person. And she never admitted what she did or paid for her crimes. Instead, she let Nick blackmail Chad into keeping quiet about it and she got her brother to hire Justin to cover it all up.
That is what Sonny and Chad know and aren't telling Will. Gabi had never had any remorse for what she did. She actually BLAMED CHAD for making her think he wanted her (he never once even gave her the slightest notice).
Evil. She and Nick are as bad as each other.
I think that everyone's actions should be viewed in context. My question is always "Why did they do that?" "Does it make sense in context"
A good person can be pushed to do something "bad" if they are scared or desperate enough.
Marlena tried to kill Stefano. I love Marlena and understand why. Will tried to kill EJ when he was 14, even EJ understands why. Will trying to blackmail EJ just feels like a nothing crime to me. EJ has sex with Sami, that is fact. EJ and Sami are responsible for ruining their marriages and they should have told their spouses the truth immediately.
I have a sliding scale when it comes to blackmail because I feel like folks always have a choice. It might not be a good choice, but unless someone's life is at stake, they have a choice. So for me, blackmail is always about choices. 1)Don't do anything you could be blackmailed for 2)If you do, know that someday you might have to make that choice and have a plan for it (that just seems like common sense to me)
LUCAS Instead of freaking out, Lucas should have immediately went to Justin and hired him and talked to him about what to do. He would be protected by confidentiality and he and Will could come up with a plan. Instead, they just run around town having loud whispered meetings about it but don't actually DO anything. It's not like Lucas has anything else to do I don't understand why Lucas is suddenly so passive. ;D

Being gay would not prevent Lari from playing hockey in Canada which is where he wants to go for the camp so he should just focus on that. Also, do these kids not have Internet access? Has he not read about the gay hockey players in Canada? It's not like he's going to Afghanistan. Lari needs to use some of that moxie he was using to bully Elias and Talle to stand up for himself and not back down. That is the only way he'll ever be happy.

I think Will doesn't want Lucas to go to prison and it is very likely that he could if the court finds out that he perjured himself and obstructed justice. I wouldn't want to see my father go back to prison, again for a crime he didn't commit. I don't think in any way, shape or form that Will believes being raised by Nick is what's best for his daughter. I'm just hoping it all gets resolved before the kid pops out. They can't have a custody battle over a baby if Gabi and Will agree to raise her together with shared custody which is what Gabi wants (regardless of Nick) If Gabi isn't going to die or leave the show, somehow they have to redeem her so maybe she will come to Will's side. Because no one else seems to be doing anything about Nick. Sami was ready to tear Adrienne's hair out just for saying Will shouldn't date Sonny. I'm kind of shocked that at least the Bradys aren't rallying around Will at this point. Jeez. I thought Kate and Rafe had sussed Nick and that EJ was ready to send him back to parole so why is he still just rolling up in Will's room like he owns the joint? The pacing of this thing with Nick is bizarre.

Was Will actually trying to get T's prints on the gun or did he just let T shoot the gun because they were teenaged boys and teenaged boys like to shoot? I can't imagine Will wanting to set up T. T was his best friend. Kids who have access to a gun pass it around, it's exciting to them.

Nick does not know that Sonny knows about Gabi. Nick only knows that Chad was generally bad mouthing Gabi to Sonny and Sonny doesn't like Gabi. Sonny never admitted to Gabi what he knows, he just said "I'm watching you" "Don't hurt will" "I don't like you".
But even IF Nick knew. Nick believes that Chad would never risk going to jail for hitting him so he thinks Sonny, Justin and everyone else is "bound" to this secret.
This is why I really, really wish Will or Sami knew what Gabi had done because it would tie Nick's hands but good.
Even IF Gabi could escape jail time, Rafe would definitely lose his job and possible be brought up on charges and anyone who knows what Gabi did and didn't report it could be brought up on charges.
Andrew is dead and unless they have his phone or some other proof that Gabi was involved, it's heresay. However, it would be enough to create doubt and lead to an investigation.
I don't know how the law works in fictional Salem but it seems to me the only thing Nick could do would be to get Lucas sent to jail for perjury (but only if there is proof he didn't shoot EJ and since he confessed and there is no proof he didn't shoot EJ, I can't see Nick having anything to stand on)
Chad and Justin have the power to shut all of this down without question. Nick isn't willing to risk Gabi going to jail and if ANYONE gets a whiff that Gabi is responsible for Melanie being held against her will for 2 weeks, there won't be a whole deep enough for her to hide in even IF she gets acquitted.
I guess that's enough conjecture from me. I'll just have to wait and see what happens because obviously there is more to this given that Nick doesn't seem to be leaving any time soon.

I don't know why Doug would need to know all of JP's past lovers and their stories before they have even started dating. That kind of information usually comes out as you're getting to know someone. Craig is JP's ex boyfriend. They broke up. JP is working on getting over him. Other than that, what else does Doug need to know? It's not like JP and Craig were robbing banks or running a meth lab. Both JP and Doug have recently broken up with someone they loved very much and didn't wan to let go of. That's not uncommon. Doug and JP should get to have a chance to get to know each other as they are now, not through the filter of what happened to them a year or 5 months ago. I'd rather here JP talk about Matthew. We know Doug loves kids but it's one thing to fall in love with someone who is already a parent and you know that going in. It's another to start dating a new dad with an infant. I think that conversation would be more relevant to their potential relationship. I'm just not understanding why folks want Craig to figure so heavily in everything JP does when he's clearly trying to get over Craig and move on with his life.

Will told Sonny yesterday. As I was trying to say, Will didn't have any other secrets that Sonny didn't know about so it just made sense that he would tell him about shooting EJ since 1) Sonny wouldn't really care since EJ doesn't care 2) Will wanted to not have anything that could come back to haunt them and the shooting is the only one.
I'm still confused as to how Nick (a convicted murdered and kidnapper and former addict) could think than any court is going to take away a Horton's kid based upon something he did when he was 14 (not a legal adult, not accountable for his actions). The only person who MIGHT suffer is Lucas and that is only if Nick can prove Lucas didn't shoot EJ (for Sami and Will's sake, EJ would never admit to it). So it just makes Nick seem desperate and crazy. EJ could easily make the entire world think Nick is using again and obsessing over Gabi and that Gabi might be in danger (just like Melanie) Also, there are too many people on Will's "side" Kate, EJ, Justin, Sami, Lucas, Roman, Marlena and John (when they aren't involved in Krazy Kristin Land). And if Hope finds out what Nick is up to, I just can't imagine her standing by him. She would never want to see Will's child taken from him.
So I don't understand Nick's long game.
It's true that just the suggestion of the truth could negatively effect Will. But one press conference with Will and EJ standing side by side and no judge is going to side with Nick. It just all makes no sense in the long run. Nick can't get what he wants.
And if Chad decides to take his chances on the assault charge, Nick is literally out of luck and he'll be back in prison before he can say "Boo."
So how can a genius like Nick not see how flawed his plan is?

Meth Head www.imdb.com/title/tt1709694/Staring Wilson Cruz, Lucas Haaz and Blake BerrisKyle Peoples (Lukas Haas) never wanted to be the man he has become in his 30's - stuck in a dead end job, engaged to a lover who is more successful than he, and saddled with a family that doesn't get him at all. When an innocent night of partying leads to a new family of friends and fun, Kyle sees an opportunity to escape from his reality. But Kyle's new friendship with Maia (Necar Zadegan) and Dusty (Blake Berris), and the trio's love of crystal meth eventually cost Kyle everything - his job, his lover, his family and his home. Kyle and Dusty rent a room from Maia in the house owned by her grandma Nora (Edith Fields). As any true user does, Kyle embraces denial, diving headlong into his addiction. Life seems pretty fucking awesome. Kyle, Dusty and Maia redecorate Kyle's apartment. The walls change color as often as Maia changes outfits. They share thoughts on life and God. They spend hours in thrift stores, vow to get off the meth then get high. But Kyle's escape becomes his trap, the party is an illusion and the crystal is slowly killing him, physically and psychologically. When he finally bottoms out, no longer the kid his father once spoke of with pride, Kyle must choose: life or meth.

I think Will did tell Sonny about shooting EJ (he doesn't have any other secret to tell, Sonny knows he slept with Gabi, that's not a secret. Sonny also knows about him agreeing to have Nick raise the baby as his, that's also not a secret)
I think what might be devastating for Will is `1) Nick threatening Sami or 2)Nick threatening Lucas with the EJ shooting secret.
Also Nick doesn't know that Sonny knows about his part in covering Gabi's crimes (which is obstruction of justice at best and blackmail at least and both would violate his parole)
So it seems to me that Sonny will comfort Will to say that he shouldn't let Nick get to him.
Obviously I'm just guessing. But I feel like Sonny wouldn't actually care that Will at 14 shot EJ (given that his family has been forgiven for much worse I'm sure)
I'm assuming we didn't see it because we've heard the story like 5 times and it wouldn't exactly be interesting to watch Will tell it again. But seeing Sonny's reaction to it is crucial to the storyline and their reunion.

I think Sonny just wants Will to know that he wants to live with him and they will make space for his daughter when she is with them. I don't think Sonny is thinking of the baby as his or himself as a dad. If you're dating someone who has a baby and you're living together, of course you want their child to feel comfortable in your home. But the baby has parents, Will and Gabi and I think assuming Sonny will be a "dad" is the same as Nick assuming he is the dad. Nick and Sonny are not the dads, they are the partners of the parents, in my opinion that is very different. I also think it's way to soon for Will and Sonny to be thinking about any kind of legally binding relationship when they haven't even been together for 6 months consecutively. They don't even know if they will be able to live together. I hope the show will handle that aspect of their new relationship realistically and hit all the beats and give them time to develop as a real couple, united but still individuals. Plenty of happy, well adjusted kids grow up with their parents not living together it's all about how the parents and their partners handle things. I think it's much more confusing for kids when every time their parents get a new boyfriend or husband, they are expected to see that person as a father figure. Obviously the baby hasn't been born and wouldn't even be aware of the arrangement for a long, long time. But I just think, hope, DOOL will not just turn Sonny and Nick into automatic parents.
Part of what bothers me so much about Nick and how he's being treated by the Hortons is that they are acting as though HE is about to become a father when he's not really. Step father MAYBE (if he and Gabi ever get married) but at most, he is Gabi's boyfriend.
Nick's sense of entitlement regarding the baby, and the complete lack of anyone besides Sami actually calling him out on it is very frustrating to me and I think sends a very heterosexist message on the part of the writers.

Well at least Gabi and Nick interrupted them AFTER they had already had some sex. Technically they weren't interrupted, just bothered during after glow. I am struggling to understand how Nick thinks that Will who has the back up of Sami, Kate and EJ would ever be vulnerable to him? I get that he thinks Will and Lucas wouldn't want to risk the storyline coming out. But I don't get why he thinks that EJ wouldn't IMMEDIATLY retaliate? His threat can only be powerful if he thinks he can scare Will and Lucas into submission without him actually acting on it because the second he acted on it, EJ and Kate would have his behind underneath the jail so he'd never get to have his happily ever after even IF Lucas wound up going to jail. Plus, he obtained the information by illegally bugging Will which is a crime. And he's on parole so he can't really risk being send back for illegally taping someone's conversation and the only evidence he has is that tape.

I think that is the problem Ste loves his children. I think folks are wrong to think he doesn't He has been an amazing dad and he has been there for his kids actually much more than Amy has. Just because she's female doesn't mean she is a better parent or that the kids belong with her and her new husband.
However, I think that Ste is not thinking clearly about what it means to live with Brendan. Part of is is because he doesn't exactly know everything that went down with Walker, he just knows Walker wants to kill Brendan and killed Riley by accident when he was trying to kill Ste.
That should be enough to wan Ste off of Brendan for good. But I also think that Ste loves Brendan and normally people applaud that kind of unconditional love right. That is what a real relationship is supposed to be, unconditional love, forever. LOL
So on the one hand, I do think the way they love each other is kind of amazing (horrible, insane, troubling, but amazing) and I don't think Ste belonged with Doug. Doug would never have trouble had Ste for real, he would always have been second best.
Ste and Brendon belong together if for no other reason than no one else has to suffer being with either of them while they are still in love.
And that is what is so troubling. I do believe Ste is genuinely torn between wanting to be with the man he loves and wanting desperately to be with his children and knowing in his heart he can't have both (no matter what he says about working things out with Amy)
I do think Amy could have been a bit less harsh about how she came to get the children. Her hatred of Brendan is justified (even he knows that) but Ste should have had a chance to say a proper good bye and I didn't like her implication that she is a better person than Ste , generally speaking.
So while I can never understand how someone could love someone who beat them and murdered people and sold drugs to teenagers and intimidated other teenagers into selling drugs for him, I do believe that Ste genuinely loves Brendan and vice versa.
A sick, twisted, destined to doom love.
I think I would just rather see Ste and Brendan leave together than have anything bad happen to Brendan and Ste left in the village in bits.
I also don't want Doug being drawn back into that orbit again (though I know it's probably inevitable)
I'd just like to see at least one young gay couple who are happy and in love without the extreme circumstances. They don't have to be vanilla and boring, just not existing permanently under a cloud of impending doom.

Sonny knows more about Gabi than Will does. Before he knew what Gabi had done, Sonny was DEFENDING Gabi against Chad and his accusations and general stank attitude.
Will is not weak, he's empathetic and kind.
If Sonny was in the same position, he would do exactly what he did with T, try to REASON with them.
Sonny's response to the war between his family and the Dimeras was to try to make peace and get everyone to compromise and the stakes were MUCH higher then because folks were getting shot and someone was gonna get killed. At the end of the day, Sonny is a diplomat.
But if Will KNEW what Gabi had done (regardless of Nick's attitude) Will would be able to make better choices because he'd have all the information instead of vague hints form everyone around him that they know something he doesn't
Even if Nick wasn't plotting against Will, they still wouldn't like each other but Will would never go after Nick just because he's a jackass because he's his cousin and he's in a relationship with Gabi who is carrying his child.
But the two times that Nick got in his face with the "gay boy" comment and trying to continue with the stupid plan, Will stood up to him and made it clear that he was not backing down, was not giving up his child and intends to raise her with Gabi whether Nick likes it or not.
If Nick thought he had any saw over Will, he wouldn't be desperately scrounging to discredit Will and he wouldn't be so panicked.
Will has allowed Gabi to decide what she wanted to do because she is carrying the freaking baby. Will can't lay claim to a baby that isn't born yet and how he treats Gabi and his relationship with HER is more important than whether or not he's friends with his cousin or he and his cousin like each other.
It's not Will's fault that Gabi is ridiculous and useless when it comes to anything other than her own self preservation.
Right now, at this moment, Will can only act on what he knows for sure, not what he thinks or suspects.
Nick doesn't have a leg to stand on as long as Gabi and Willa re on the same page and right now, as far as Will is concerned, he and Gabi are on the same page.
Yes, he shouldn't trust Gabi but he has NO EVIDENCE to show that he shouldn't because Gabi has actually made an effort to include him in the pregnancy since even before the truth came out.
I agree that Nick and Gabi are manipulative and sly but that doesn't mean Will has to respond like a cave man.
Until Nick plays his hand and shows his true colors, there is nothing Will can do. I mean his own freaking grandmother who doesn't trust Nick is working with him.
I just think folks need to see things from the perspective of Will, not from the perspective of a viewer who has been shown Nick and Gabi and their horribly private conversations.

If only Brendan and Ste had figured out the whole "Let's talk to Amy" thing before it all went pear-shaped. Sigh... Still grooving on JP and Doug and I love seeing George all confident and sassy in their orbit. I wish Jen wasn't a horrible person so I could root for her friendship with JP but I can never forgive her for what she did to Tilly. The entire Doug and JP flirting was fabulous and the scenes at The Dog were great. Nice to have less darkness and woe.
