"Brothers & Sisters" Pic Post! What's Scotty's Life-Changing Discovery? Posted by snicks on April 12, 2011 We're winding down to the last handful of new episodes of Brothers & Sisters for the season (and maybe the series, as it's still on the renewal fence).
This is usually the point where the show starts setting things up for a dramatic end to the season, and that looks to be the case with the next two episodes, especially with the characters of Kevin and Scotty.
We've got the show descriptions and preview pics for the next two episodes, and we think we've pieced together what might be happening. And if we're right, it really will be a game changer for the couple.

"Brothers & Sisters" Pic Post! It's Double The Walker Drama, Including a Funeral! Posted by snicks on March 28, 2011 AfterElton.com We've been without a new episode of Brothers & Sisters for a few weeks, but it'll return on Sunday, April 10th at at 9 PM EST with back-to-back episodes.
Here's the synopsis for the first part, "Olivia's Choice," and it's bad news for Scotty and Kevin.
When Olivia's brother shows up and sets out to gain custody of her from Kevin and Scotty, the Walkers struggle amongst themselves to determine what's best for Olivia. Well, at least Kevin, Scotty, and Olivia got one episode where they were a happy family. BTW, Olivia's brother is played by actor Douglas Spain, who played a memorable young hustler in the movie Star Maps.

Exclusive Clip: Ewan McGregor Talks "I Love You, Phillip Morris" Posted by AfterElton.com Staff March 28, 2011 Our friends at Lions Gate sent us this exclusive behind-the-scenes I Love You Phillip Morris clip to get eveyone interested in the upcoming DVD release for the movie. In this excerpt, actor Ewan McGregor explains how he prepped for his role as a mild-mannered gay con. We were struck at how earnestly he wanted to nail the portrayal — even traveling to Arkansas to meet the real Phillip Morris. This only confirms why we already love McGregor so much!
Check it out!

Just caught "Christopher and His Kind" and I have to say it's really good. The story and the pacing. The acting is fantastic too. And the guys are really gorgeous esp. Caspar and Heinz. Watching these kind of period movies always make me wonder how will I fit in during those times. You too? I always think of how I'd have lived during different time periods. The movie sounds fantastic, I can hardly wait to see it!! According the AfterElton.com those of us here in north america will be able to see it on dvd later this spring. www.afterelton.com/meme-03-21-2011

I don't get how the production of the soap works. Checking the Chroll¡-centric episodes, a scene scheduled to be aired on May 2nd was recorded on February 2nd and then, a scene for the next episode, May 3rd was recorded on January 19th? Why they don't follow a chronological order in the recording? The only thing I can think of is that they might have decided to film all the scenes that take place on a particular set or location all at once for the purpose of saving money? (I know movies certainly do this as it takes time to set up and take down the lights etc).

Yes, I know, I've been missing in action and you have every right in the world to be angry with me. I'm working on getting back to translating more clips for you guys, but in the meantime I just HAD to share with you 2 things and didn't know where else (on the boards) to post, so I hope this is okay - . Oh hon, so glad to see you back!! Hitgaagati eleykha *blows kisses* I'm happy that life has allowed you to be able to translate again. OMG!!!!! *SMOOSH* I'm absolutely thrilled about this as I love Yossi & Jagger! Honestly I could watch Ohad Knoller read the phonebook and I'm sure there's bound to be some lovely emotional scenes. *happy sigh* Do you know if Eytan Fox or Avner Bernheimer will be working on this one too? Or if they have a title yet? Todah!! Wow that is very cool. Somehow I'd like to think he wouldn't have minded the compliments The few interviews I've read/seen with him he seems like a very nice guy. I know in a similiar situation I'd be stuffed full of things I'd feel like saying but end up being way too shy to go up to him. I hope that he will cross you path again sometime (cigarette-less) so you do get a chance to say something.

Mega Buzz: A B&S Bombshell and Baby Blues on Private Practice and Bones Feb 22, 2011 10:00 PM ET by Adam Bryant and Natalie Abrams TVGuide.com
What's coming up for Kevin and Scotty on Brothers & Sisters? — Amanda
ADAM: Something huge, according to series star Matthew Rhys. "No course ever runs smoothly, so unfortunately we have an enormous story line about to break," he says of an upcoming twist in Kevin and Scotty's adoption saga. Rhys, who also directs the revelatory episode, says the bombshell was crafted after ABC ordered four additional episodes for the end of the season. Any theories on what this bombshell could be? www.tvguide.com/news/mega-buzz-brothers-1029756.aspx?rss=breakingnewsoriginal link from: www.afterelton.com/meme-02-23-2011

'Glee,' 'V,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'Dexter': Find out what's next in the Spoiler Room Dec. 10, 2010 EW.com by Sandra Gonzalez
‘BROTHERS AND SISTERS’: THE WALKER WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS Moms are the greatest, aren’t they? Especially around the hectic holidays when they, you know, do everything. So, when Karl sees Nora fraying at the edges during her own quest for the perfect Christmas, he offers to take her to Santa Fe to escape the madness (because nothing says holiday cheer like paper bag lanterns) — and she takes him up on it! Meanwhile, the Walker children are left Christmas orphans. What results is plenty of campy Walker-ness, mostly between Kitty and Kevin as they battle for the right to host Christmas — and ownership of the village and train that come along with the honor. (Admit it; you do like the camp as long as it’s in small doses.) At the heart of the episode: some very surprising scenarios, like lucid Holly, Justin drunk off his a**, and Kevin with a rather disturbing mustache that falls somewhere between Clark Gable and Billy Dee Williams on the facial hair scale. Oh, I’ve said too much… insidetv.ew.com/2010/12/10/glee-dexter-v-leverage-spoiler/original link from: www.afterelton.com/briefs-12-10-2010

Newest clip from matan4il:
matan's notes on the clip:
It's the day of Deedee and Uri's divorce, so their kids, Aya and Harel, also get to spend some quality time together. It also happens to be Amir's first day at his new job.
'New face' - This is a term from Judaism, most commonly used in the context of the 7 days of celebrations following a wedding, but it is also sometimes used in the context of the 7 days of mourning following a person's passing away. Both take place within the intimacy of a home - the newly wed couple's or the deceased's - with guests coming and going while the couple or the deceased's immediate family remain there the whole time. This means that the people seen during those days by the couple / the mourners are those who came especially with the intention of sharing with them their joy / sorrow. A 'new face' is the term used to refer to a guest who has arrived at the home of the couple / the deceased for the first time during this period.
Ramat Aviv Gimel - This is considered to have been the first Israeli soap opera ever. Leon was the character of an openly gay man, who therefore became famous as the first "soap gay". The actor who played him was Yonatan Koniak, who is also openly gay. He went on to create a few more shows, including a comedy in which he starred about a gay man still living with his mom (played by one of Israel's first and most famous drag artists).
Corporal G. - Aya, Harel and Amir don't know this yet, but the high ranking officer mentioned by the news presenter is Eyal. His version of the events is different than the one being reported by the media. We, as the audience, never know for sure which version is true.
As usual, my health continues to be an issue, so I apologize for how long it takes me to upload a new clip. I am doing my best, though. Thank you for your understanding.

"I Love You, Phillip Morris" is The Gayest Movie Ever Made by Straight Men by Michael Jensen, Editor November 29, 2010 Given that I Love You, Philip Morris is one of the gayest high profile movies ever made, it would be easy to assume that gay men must somehow behind its journey to the big screen. After all, it took Gus Van Sant, Dustin Lance Black, Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks to get Milk, another passion project, made after years of work.
But that isn’t the case with I Love You, Philip Morris. It is actually two straight men – Glenn Ficarra and John Requa – who fell in love with the story and then persevered long enough to not only get the movie made, but to finally find a U.S. distributor so American audiences could see a love story about a gay con man and the love of his life.
But for Ficcara and Requa, who shared writing and directing duties on ILYPM, the gay part of their movie is almost incidental – which isn’t to say they try to hide the movie’s gayness in any way. In fact, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
It’s just that these two men live in a world where they don’t see a distinction between gay or straight. For them, ILYPM is simply a love story they had to tell. And that American audiences need to see.
AfterElton caught up with Ficarra and Requa to discuss their progressive view of the world, the movie’s tortured journey to release, that gay sex scene, working with Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor and much more!

Newest clip from matan4il: matan's note on the clip: Harel and Ziona are well on their way to starting their own business. This vid requires quite a few explanations, so please be patient with me. The Sudanese refugee - in the last few years, quite a few refugee, fleeing the massacres in Sudan, have made their way by foot to Israel, through our border with Egypt, knowing they won't be turned away here. Just this year (which isn't even over yet), more than 10,000 Sudanese refugees have come here. Shmaryahu village - it is a village indeed, just one that happened to be populated by some of Israel's richest families. Sandwich prices - just so you have an idea about the sandwich prices in Israel, a cheap one would cost about 8 to 10 shekels (and will be more bread than anything else), anything above 18 shekels would be considered expensive. So Amir certainly has a point. The birthday surprise party - Zameret is Aya's ex-roommate. Through her, she's also become friends with Harel and Ran, Aya's ex fiance. Now Eytan, her boyfriend, is throwing her a surprise party for her birthday and has invited all of her friends. It's just that she hates surprises and birthday parties, which is part of why he eventually gives in, tells her what's going on and why her "surprise" seems so fake. Eyal - he's the new guy Aya has been dating. They've met at university, where they both study Psychology. While there's a mandatory draft in Israel, which means all young people are supposed to be recruited into the Israeli army (the IDF) when they're 18, some choose to stay beyond that period and choose the military as their career. That's what Eyal has done, which is why he's well older than 18 and still serving. He's a commander in an infantry division. Up each other's asses - a common Israeli expression. It started out as military slang, referring to barracks where there are a lot of soldiers living together in the same, small quarters with little to no privacy. Since a lot of people who served in the army continue to use this expression after they're discharged as well, it's become common knowledge and also got a secondary meaning, implying that two people know each other very, very well (though not necessarily sexually or romantically). www.youtube.com/user/matan4il

Wow, you lot certainly didn't waste much time putting together another one!!! NYC was SO much fun that the thought of another is making me want to bounce off the ceiling *happy dance* (Although WHY do I have to be moving away from California now? Ah who cares!! There's gonna be another GOOL!)
Btw, if any of the organizers need help I know I overheard many people at NY GOOL who said they'd like to help in any way they could if there was ever another one being planned. Please let us know if you there is anything we can do!!

It would actually be helpful to me if, either on this board or by PM, people could let me know their thoughts on me continuing to post any kind of English overview on each full set of summaries. Be useful for me to try and at least roughly gauge the interest there is in me doing so. I mean, as I say, all 'relevant' stuff I'll continue to do proper translations for, anyway...it's just whether to also put anything down at all for everything else which is the issue. Actually, if anyone could let me know if they definitely would like Mirecca/Rebecca paragraphs to be included in my proper translations, too, that'd be great. Joanna, you are ABSOLUTELY amazing with all that you do for us!!! Speaking for myself, summeries of non-Chrolli stuff would be more than fine with me. I'm just so incrediably greatful to people like yourself who give so much of their time and effort to help out the rest of us. Thank you!
