there are many things I like about GTST, and I'm really grateful that I can understand a bit more of it by watching your subs, Mark. I do understand bits and pieces of spoken Dutch, and I understand the "main points" when reading Dutch, so it's a good way for me to get more used to the language. even though I'm very ambivalent about the current storyline in the way that I'm not sure whether I like it or dislike it, I think it's great to watch Raynor's acting. I also love watching the Bouwhuis family. Rikki and Sjoerd is the other couple (in addition to Ludwin) whose storyline I try to follow as closely as I can. while I'm not sure that the character of Ron has been given the chance to show the entirety of its potential, I think Kevin Hassing is a charming actor.

thanks for the input, kevvoi! I don't follow the entirety of "Neighbours", but I did follow "Home & Away" for quite some years. I think it's exciting that Chris and Aidan's storyline is a cliffhanger in the year end episode. also, I finally managed to check out how they spell Aidan's name (it's Aidan Foster). some people have been commenting on Youtube how Chris reacts to other people's comments about him being attacked - he reacts the way a rape victim would do (what the comments at Youtube said). this is interesting, because when there are people who have been attacked because they are gay, it often appears in the newspapers and on internet (at least in my country, not sure whether that is common elsewhere) due to the fact that they are courageous enough to point out the reason (sorry for the long sentence!). I'm thinking maybe Chris repeatedly tries to hide any pain or fear he's feeling because he's not yet being entirely accepted for his sexual orientation. so if his father only knows that he has been attacked, he won't have to deal with more of his father's reactions to the fact that he's gay.

I'm surprised at the pace Chris' story line is having now. I guess somehow I got used to the every third weeks to every second month-appearance from Chris. it's quite horrible to see Chris in such pain in part 30 but I'm happy that Aidan makes Chris talk when Lucas, Chris' father and the doctor were failing to convince Chris to talk. being a first time meeting for Chris and Aidan, I think it's pretty special how Chris opens up when they talk.

I've been so busy with exams this week so thanks for posting the videos and the spoilers, kevvoi! I still really like Chris' character. with all the spoilers that have been announced for the upcoming months it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how Aidan will be finding his place in the storyline.

the actor who plays Ron reminds me slightly of the actor who plays Danny in terms of looks. it will be interesting to see how the relationship between Ron and Edwin develops. I think Ron will give Edwin some much needed attention.
I have a soft spot for Sjoerd and Rikki. her anger comes with such a force and it makes for interesting situations. I'm so grateful that Mark actually translates this story line as well!

thanks for posting, kevvoi! I remember Bobby Morley from Home and Away. I think he and James make a good match in terms of looks. I'm curious about how this storyline will develop and will definitely be following it closely.

I like Chris, he's portrayed as an everday life kind of guy. or at least that is what he comes across as to me. I'm looking forward to be following this storyline, especially because of the things that are yet to come (and happen).

I just loved today's episode, I guess I have a soft spot for Rikki and Sjoerd's relationship. normally a straight couple's sex scene on TV wouldn't make me sympathize or feel as much as when I watch same sex couples' sex scenes. despite this, I really felt that Rikki and Sjoerd's moments were touching. I thought it was very nice that Lucas and Edwin were intimate as well, even though they weren't the main priority for this episode. also, I did notice that Nina and Noud weren't as intimate as the other couples.

thanks a lot for translating, Mark! I've been replaying the Sjoerd/Rikki scenes many times. I think it is very fascinating to watch the actress who plays Rikki, because she seems to embody the feeling of anger in a way that's very explosive - I can easily picture Rikki being one of those people who will end up throwing vases at the wall. and Guido, who plays Sjoerd, is just amazing with his face and expressions.

so I'm new to posting on this board, but I have been lurking since the start of Christian and Olli's relationship on Verbotene Liebe. I watched yesterday's episode twice at RTL's site yesterday, just to have a close look at Lucas comforting Edwin. and today, when Mark uploaded his translated clip, I watched that one twice as well - to see the same scene a couple of more times. the best thing about watching Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden is that I'm getting better at understanding oral Dutch (I think it's fairly easy to read the language since I had three years of obligatory German in school). thanks a lot to Mark for translating and subbing, it's great! I also enjoy all of the storylines - especially the ones of Rikki & Sjoerd, and Edwin & Lucas.
