Music copyright issues have been recurring for NRK for several years, as they have had difficulties settling an agreement with IFPI Norway and other music organisations. Today NRK published this article (in Norwegian: www.nrk.no/kultur/_alle_-vil-ha-norske-tv-konsept-1.13450305) which states that the US remake of Skam is expected to be released in the fall this year.

@cheerios: There are no official news about who the new main character is but the production team has begun filming. Source is this article from a Norwegian newspaper that has several spoiler pictures taken when the team was filming outdoors on March 15th: www.dagbladet.no/kultur/her-er-de-forste-bildene-fra-skam-sesong-4/67401640. "I started developing nine different characters who all are supposed to have the possibility of becoming main characters, and there is a possibility that all of these nine characters could become the main character for the duration of a season", Julie Andem has said in an interview which was published in Norwegian last year by a Norwegian film and TV website called Rushprint: rushprint.no/2016/04/nerven-i-skam-skal-vaere-sterk-og-relevant/.

As lovethetree says it will come. For now there are no official statements on when the trailer or the first clip for the fourth season will be published. Myself I hope the first clip will come this month. I haven't read any news about the planned US remake so far. Also, Isak and Even was a candidate for TV's Top Couple 2017 and reached top 2. This was one of the polls: www.eonline.com/news/833507/tv-s-top-couple-2017-vote-in-the-top-2-now.

Apology accepted, @overtherainbow. Thanks for giving me examples! I definitely understand that people feel mad because of this storyline. Personally I think all the small clips posted each day make the storyline go by slowly because the big things usually happen on Fridays. That's probably the downside of the instant posts and uploads on Skam's website. Also, this year there was a newspaper article (in Klassekampen, you can find it online by googling "Få lesbiske på norsk TV" ("Few lesbians on Norwegian TV")) in Norway about the fact that LGBT people are rarely being depicted on Norwegian television, and that there are fewer depictions of LGBT women than LGBT men as well. It was no problem, justinate. Ruckuses happen from time to time. I absolutely understand that you perceive the portrayal of Isak the way you do.

The actor who plays Isak is only 17. And the actor who plays Eskild is busy with studying drama at the Oslo National Academy of Art, so whatever they had planned for Eskild's storyline has probably been modified. I feel that the scriptwriter is making the most out of making a conflict everywhere that it is possible, which is typical for scriptwriting because obviously the characters would solve their problems faster if they dared to talk with each other. If Isak turns out to be asexual that would be a great way to create representation for a group that rarely is mentioned in Norwegian media and also rarely is represented in Norwegian literature and films. I'm sorry but NOPE. This sh*t doesn't fly with me. Yet ANOTHER asexual gay male character?!??! Are you kidding me? You keep making excuses for the show. Most gay male characters on tv are already neutered and asexual these days. I also think in 9 out of 10 times it's NOT because they want to portray an asexual gay character, but because they neuter them because gay sex is still taboo. IF the show does that to Isak too then well I'm done with the show. It's unacceptable in 2016 that they censor a gay character. Oh, and you can tell yourself all you want that he is supposed to be a asexual, but I think in this case it's more about censoring than anything else. Please read the comment that justinate wrote before me. I'm not suggesting that Isak is asexual, I'm merely saying that for me it wouldn't matter if he was an asexual gay male because it would give the show's target group a feeling of representation. It was justinate who wrote that he perceived Isak as more on the asexual side. It's absolutely fine that you don't agree with my comments, @overtherainbow! And it's fine if you perceive it as though I'm making excuses for the show. That's your opinion. Thanks for your response, now I'm going to pull out of this discussion until you have a nicer tone in your posts and can be a bit more relaxed about what I and others write. This is just an online community. You should be able to discuss what I write without attacking me for making excuses for the show and suggesting that I tell myself that Isak is asexual. Instead you could point out other shows where there is an asexual gay male character and tell me why the target group of this show doesn't need Isak to be portrayed as an asexual gay male. Have a nice day, @overtherainbow!

Obviously, Norwegian TV series rarely feature LGBT characters that have storylines outside of the stereotyped stories. Personally I can't wait to see what Even will do in the upcoming episodes. I also hope Jonas manages to communicate to Isak that there is no need to express homophobic views. And I think Isak is also struggling because his mother is religious (she has sent Isak quotes from the Bible). One of the actors who played the gay characters in Øyevitne was younger than 18 when they were filming the series (the filming started in 2012 according to this article: www.nrk.no/kultur/oyevitne-1.8016069). Hotel Cæsar is a soap, and all its storylines reflect that. That being said, it is lovely that the remake of Øyevitne hasn't downplayed the gay couple's relationship!

I definitely think there is a lot of foreshadowing going on! My friends have commented on how they think it's unlikely that the production team will create happy endings for the main character in season 3 when season 2 ended with a happy ending for Noora and William.
I'm not sure about Even's level of laid-backness either, but I surely wouldn't mind if he was laid-back about whichever label that fits for him. If he has no problems with his label and Isak finds out he has no problems with it either, then it won't be an issue (theoretically speaking, only my thoughts). I think that the scriptwriter is aiming to give a peek into the doubts that can follow for someone who's unsure about their sexual orientation, given that Isak was hesitant towards Emma and has discussed boys with Eskild.

Today NRK (the broadcaster of this series) announced that Skam has been sold to Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. The article states that Skam will air before Christmas in these countries. In Iceland the series is already airing, according to the production team. Source (in Norwegian): www.nrk.no/kultur/_skam_-solgt-til-flere-land-1.13172955 @overtherainbow I also think that death/dead main characters are significant themes or pointers to how this season might develop. During the previous season many were discussing whether Henrik Ibsen's plays were significant in several ways. I read a review in a Norwegian newspaper, where the reviewer described that the scene with Isak and Even in the toilets were giving off a romantic comedy-vibe, and that when they were outside on the bench, it seemed to be inspired by other significant bench scenes in Norwegian movies. Personally I would be very happy if Even had a laid back/relaxed attitude towards his sexual orientation. In the clip "Grindr" Eskild says to Isak that you would know that a guy is into men if he talks about blowjobs. In the bench scene Even talks about how they had to play a game where they had to touch each other, and if you could feel that you were touching a dick, you had to suck on it. Isak says "No?", and then Even says, "No!" and laughs. Isak seems to be written as a character who has the classical route to discovering he's attracted to boys.

They also talk about how 70,000 Danish people are watching Skam through the Norwegian websites. Many of them have begun watching after a big Danish newspaper wrote about the series.

justinate: Isak is still the new main character for season 3. The actor Tarjei confirmed to the newspaper VG (one of the big Norwegian, national newspapers) that Isak's sexual orientation will be a topic for season 3. Here's the article with a picture of Tarjei from the talkshow: www.vg.no/rampelys/tv/skam/skam-josefine-om-sin-nye-deltidsjobb-jeg-jobber-som-telefonselger/a/23794364/ Josefine, who plays Noora, told VG that Tarjei is a smart and clever boy who can handle the pressure of playing the main character. During the talkshow last Friday, Josefine and Tarjei talked with the host about things such as their passion for acting, and another Norwegian actor, Aksel Hennie (has played in Max Manus (2008) and The Martian (2015)), was also a guest. Tarjei was asked if Aksel is someone he admires, and Tarjei said that Aksel has succeeded 100 % in having a long acting career so far. The host of the show asked Tarjei about how they solve it when they're supposed to film that they're drinking alcohol. They talked about how they just fill beer cans with water. Tarjei also said that the creator of Skam, director and scriptwriter Julie Andem, would sometimes ask the actors if they thought she was going in the right direction with the manuscript. Josefine also talked for a while about how she was mistaken for being the character Noora when she was at a bar, so she had to explain to the workers at the bar very thoroughly about the fact that Noora is just a character in a TV series, and that she is an actress.

I don't know any more than what it says in the article, @overtherainbow. NRK (the broadcaster) is being very tight-lipped about it all so far, all they do is confirm facts after being confronted about content which doesn't air in a while. But one speculation of mine so far is that this new girl might get some of the screen time that girl Chris would have gotten (the actress started studying acting at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts this autumn). Or maybe it's due to the fact that the actor who played William quit, and then the new script goes in a different direction? Two guesses on my part that probably are incorrect.

justinate: It's a wardrobe scene - with Chris (the boy), William, Jonas, and other boys having a water fight. Isak sits on a bench in the wardrobe and is not participating in the water fight. Then Jonas throws a small carton of milk towards the lockers, it splatters on Isak's face. The splatter of milk is shown in a slower motion. Then it says "ISAK" in white letters, and then "autumn 2016". So I'd say that they would try to follow the autumn term and that probably they'll start airing it in September. They also aired the first episode of season 1 in September last year.

I'm happy too! On June 18th it was announced who it was that passed the entrance examination for the bachelor program in acting at the drama school at Oslo National Academy of the Arts - the actor who plays Eskild (Carl Martin Eggesbø) and the actress who plays Chris (the girl) (Ina Svenningdal) are two of eight students who will begin the studies this autumn. Here is the link to the announcement's content: www.tv2.no/a/8396941/. No one knows yet how this will be solved with participating in Skam - but what we do know is that Eskild has a part in Isak's storyline.

The broadcaster has been trying to promote Skam to buyers from other TV companies outside Norway, but have been receiving varying reactions to the series' content. In this article: www.nrk.no/kultur/utlandet-tor-ikke-satse-pa-_skam_-1.12987009 there is a trailer with English subtitles in it. So far no other TV companies have bought the rights to broadcast this series.

Yeah, I just saw it. I have a feeling Eskild and Isak have been seing each other in secret, hence the sheets Noora found in the basement. I thought it was odd how they greeted each other at the party, it was very awkward, yet they have great chemistry. Last season they found gay porn on Isak's phone. It went nowhere, the "relationship" with Chris was a red herring, it was just about some rivalry with other students (russ), and then there was that one scene with Eskild but he was being very coy when he said he talked to Isak on Instagram, and he wasn't gay. He never said how he found out. I think he's hiding something. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they hooked up, and have hooked up a few times since, either just sex or seeing each other as in they're boyfriends. I think Eskild is keeping it a secret because Isak isn't out. Anyway.. this is just pure speculation of course. Hopefully they'll give them more screen time next season. Yes, there have been some clues that have been showed that hints to Eskild and Isak having met offscreen. Several people has pointed out that at the party Jonas is wearing a belt which he has borrowed from Isak, and it's the same belt that Noora had spotted in the stack of clothes that she picked up from the basement before the party. Eskild avoided the topic of the clothes and the neighbours' complaints when they talked about the clothes that she had found. justinate: The guy Nico is William's older brother. Noora went to the apartment that William lives in, because he didn't answer his phone for a while, and Nico was the one who was home. William was at a big gathering for the russ who celebrated, and somehow Noora wasn't aware of that. So Nico gave her wine that was probably containing drugs, and then she blacked out. After this she spoke with a girl who was at the party, who was sleeping in the same bed as her and William. The girl said that Noora had been throwing up and undressing by her own choice and then passed out on the bed. Nico passed out on the bed too, according to her. But Nico managed to take a nude picture of Noora and keep it on his phone - so that's the bad thing that happened. Many of the elements/topics are used to tell the viewers a little something about what you should do and how you should behave properly. When Nico had a nude picture on his phone, Noora told him he had committed a crime, and exactly which sections in the law stated something about those crimes (nude pictures, serving alcohol to someone under 18). When Noora told her friends that she believed she might have been raped, her friend Vilde told her about the most common advices for someone who's been raped (see a doctor or go to the ER immediately, don't remove evidence by taking a shower). So basically those kind of scenes are adding to a long tradition of TV series for children/young people being educational. And yes - it has been confirmed that there will be a third season (in Norwegian media). Here's a link: www.nrk.no/kultur/_skam_-skaper-bekrefter-sesong-3-1.12945950 (all in Norwegian). We have also been informed about the fact that the broadcaster had an audition for a new role that will be casted in season 3, they searched for a boy born between 1996 and 1999 (Link: www.aktivioslo.no/audition/skam-soker-gutt-fodt-99-96/). Some people have also pointed out that Noora faces the camera at the end of the last episode of season 1 and then became the main character of season 2, and another character faced the camera in this final episode of season 2. It was Isak who looked into the camera. Of course this parallel is just based on observations and so far the creators of the show haven't confirmed who will be the main character. Feel free to ask more questions. Sometimes I tend to ramble, so if anyone wants me to clarify something I'll do that.

This week the final episode of Skam (for this season) aired. In discussions I've seen, both on Skam's website and on another forum, people are gushing about how nice it is to see Isak in this last episode. People have also discussed about how it seems to be some interaction between Eskild and Isak offscreen, and maybe it will be explored further in season 3.
