Brownsugar, I've tended to agree. I also think that if one of the actors chose to leave, they'd want to give him a door back in. It worked well when they did so for Olli.
In this case, these actors are too valuable to kill off. If Thore left to explore other avenues, I would personally be waiting with an offer in a year if he wanted back in -- I'd even work to negotiate an exit contract that allowed him back in.
Plotwise it might work to kill off one, but in terms of wanting to keep assets, the show would do much better to arrange for a way back in.
However, I keep to my advice to Thore: don't leave VL until you have secured another line -- you have a base, don't abandon it. Work from VL -- negotiate time to do plays, build your acting skills. Don't leave with the hype of today as if it indicated what will happen outside of the show. (Sorry wrong thread -- I believe this belongs on the "intrusive, unasked for advice thread.")

I thought it would be better on the "I'm going to give motherly advice because admitting other feelings would just be way too pervy" thread ;D ;D I agree with what you say in essence, although, at the risk of having all Ollian fans hate me, I strongly feel that he needs to leave (if he wishes to leave- and who knows, some actors stay with the same soap for their entire careers- it all depends on ambitions and desires) sooner rather than later, since at the moment, ignoring any international hype, he's at a prime age to get other roles- when he starts tipping into late 20s and early 30s, if he hasn't got a broader experience than I think the options become more limited. And, on a personal note, I think he's got too much raw natural talent to just stay on one show- I'd love to see him stretch his acting chops elsewhere (and yes, I know Germany has a small industry, yes I know other actors have done it and failed, so please, I don't need anyone replying to this to tell me that! I stand by what I say, KNOWING all that!) I think, IF he ever leaves they wouldn't kill him off- the character is too young and it's useful to keep that window open.

I don't hate you flippa; however, in case Thore does read this, I think I need to quickly slide in with the CORRECT advice: Now is the time to explore your career, but do so while you are at VL. Work "double-time" and negotiate time off for other projects into your contract. Otherwise, you will lose your international base and all of the hype you are getting when you are just getting started. Most acting gigs go bust. Note: When you are at VL you are probably much more attractive. Once you leave, you lose a great deal of appeal simply because people find those who are employed more attractive than those who are not. Moreover, if you were working in a play/movie gig, you would bring your fame from VL with you as an asset to that. Movies may be a good thing to pursue at this time, as you could work production schedules into your contract. So unless something incredibly good turns up, I reiterate: stay on VL, work on becoming better at your craft, and explore other options with your fanbase and free-publicity in tact. Moderators: This is WILD SPECULATION as I am wildly speculating that I am Thore's Jewish mother and he actually reads this and cares what I have to say. However, I am certainly CORRECT and flippa's words are not. ;D

Do some sideline acting like Jo does with the theater. I even think Jo has voiced for an animated story of some sort, I'm not quite sure. Both Thore and Jo are two of the best actors on VL. They really do have some fine natural talent. Thore at the tender age of 24, soon to be 25 shouldn't be afraid or feel he doesn't have the acting chops to go beyond soaps. In five years time he will be 30, it isn't as far off as it seems, he should start to make the move now while he has a strong fan base. I actually saw an interview going back a few months ago, I think it was the one he did in Italy. Anyway, he really humbled himself and mentioned how he felt he wasn't that good of an actor, just yet, still learning and growing. I agree he is still learning and growing, but Thore is a much better actor than what he gives himself credit for. Both him and Jo have this natural and believable way in which they come across on camera, which is why they have gotten such a spectacular reaction from across the world. I think they both underestimate their acting skills. It isn't just fan hype, they really are very good at their craft. I would also Love to see Jo expand more. Try to make a jump into movies. I'm a huge Jo Weil fan and would love to see him graduate from SOAP land to acting in movies. I really think he is capable. Putting aside his movie star good looks, he certainly has the acting chops. He's already done theater, so I think he could make that leap to the big screen. One of those little independent films is a start. And as Jo often states...He can't see himself doing anything else but acting. It would be sad to see them go, but at some point they will be leaving. But I think they should really strike while the iron is hot.

I agree, Brownsugar: but they need to strike while they remain employed. That's the secret. How many actors or actresses can you name who actually made a leap from television to movies after leaving their jobs? Even Jennifer Anniston has had a rough time of it, and NO ONE else from Friends has been able to do it -- and they are so talented. (The guy who plays Chandler made a brief leap into a hit, and that was it.) Moving from television to something else is tricky. It needs to be handled very carefully. That's why I think remaining employed is vital. Once that is gone, a lot goes with it. I would suggest (as stated) that Thore work actively towards parts in movies -- perhaps those gem bit/character parts that can "make" people notice. His English is good - perhaps he can work in an American, English or Idie film? I'd add the same for Jo, I just don't feel he needs a Jewish Mother as he seems to know what he is up to -- Thore seems a little less open about his intentions. I think we could do a lot to help by storming American talk shows with raves about them on VL. For example, send Stephen Colbert clips and raves -- he's a comedian, but he could do a great job interviewing them. I've thought that five hundred messages to The Colbert Report would do a lot to get the guys an American interview. I suppose this is in the rhelm of wild speculation as we are thinking about the previews and the horrific notion that Christian could die and Thore leave. (EEK! ) I just don't think this a wise move for Thore yet -- so I am hoping that this isn't some very well-kept secret (i.e. he already has plans).

I looked up the disease that Christian is supposed to be getting. Its a virus that attacks the hear. Can cause heart failure if the heart is over stressed. The virus comes from tropical locations (don't remember). Question: Where could he have gotten this virus? Well, a myocarditis is not necessarily caused by a tropical virus, it can be caused by any virus, even the flu. If you have fever and don't stay in bed until you've completely recovered from that you always risk to get a myocarditis... I'll stop being a know-it-all now. ;D

I like getting this information! The discussion you both are having is interesting . . . I have been thinking about this myself. (So its myocarditis and not myocardian inflammation? They are different.)

I went with one of them for my story because one lead to the other on wikipedia and in my encyclopedia.

Well, a myocarditis is a myocardian inflammation. Myocardium means heart muscle and the ending -itis means inflammation so it's the same.

Lola...I honestly don't think the writers are going to kill of one half of this couple. I think if Jo or Thore wanted to leave they would most likely write the story as one of them having to leave town for whatever reason with the intension of the other following at a later date. That date being when the other actor decides to leave the show. I just don't think that death is going to happen. The death-potential of either Olli or Chris at this point is MINIMAL. I say this having seen the show's trends discussed at length here and on other forums. Major super-couple actors and characters generally tend to have a VL life-span of around 5 or so years. Usually unless the actor makes the choice to leave. Otherwise, when the character's time is up, or when the couple have lived through as many plausible stories as they can without becoming jokes, they ride off together into the sunset. (Jan followed Julia to Paris, and many other couples left town when their story-life ran its course.) As far as we can see, both Olli and Chris have a lot of story-life left in them at this point. Why do I say that? Lola and I had a great back-and-forth on AfterElton several months ago (maybe in March) about Gregor's future. (I'm too lazy to find it and link it.) More specifically, it was about his ultimate fate (death by air-ship). With all of the wild-spec and freaking-out that had previously gone on over at the spoiler pages about AJ's contract, etc, I'll bring this up over here. Lola had pointed out that Gregor had his first great romance with Max. The actress was presumably fired, so that couldn't be his GREAT LOVE story. Then he had Sarah. But Sarah was destined to be with Leo, for whatever reason. Thus, Sarah was not Gregor's GREAT LOVE. Luise is that Max and Sarah were not. Gregor is a romantic hero. Gregor is now a fairy-tale prince. Gregor is in the midst of his last big story on VL. Unless Mascha (Luise) doesn't stay with the show, but I don't see her leaving anytime soon--too much possibility for her character beyond Gregor. Thus, using that simple equation, Gregor will die. Lola warned on the other thread to watch for the warning signs of Gregor and Luise going thru a long period of being really happy and stable. I say, be on the look-out for that next summer. Luise will commit to Eduard this fall after the death of Prince Dad and honor her promise. She will be profoundly unhappy. blah blah blah. She and Gregor find their way back to each other, they become happy... and then he dies Heino-style. Gregor's death will give Christian at least a year of drama and angst to play. Especially if Gregor conveniently dies near to the time that Christian needs a transplant. Then Chris would take Gregor's ownership interest in NL, and he and Olli would be business partners. SPEC: If C&O happen to have broken up (temporarily) before then, it becomes the device to bring them back to being a couple. Gregor's death becomes more noble in bringing back the estranged lovers, and possibly heroic if his death by heli is somehow involved in some effort to rescue Luise from danger. (from Eduard?) (Heino's death was a surprise, he was just flying. He crashed while Ulli and his GF watched. Of course he died at hospital at midnight on New Year's Eve.) TPTB might be able to find another way of keeping Gregor around after next year, but that would really only happen if Gregor and Luise aren't truly meant to be together. And that would negate the entire fairy-tale story. (And that would be a shame.) Okay, there's my 2 cents regarding death and wild spec. Unless either Jo or Thore or AJ decide to leave the show, all of them are safe. Gregor's safety past next summer...I worry.

Gregor's safety past next summer...I worry. -Shit. Glad to see you're back , Zam. If Ollian did temporarily break up, Gregor's death would be a great way to bring them back together, but it would be strange to also add the Christian gets Gregor's heart idea into that particular scenario because I feel like if Chris was REALLY sick, Olli wouldn't be able to stay away.

if Chris was REALLY sick, Olli wouldn't be able to stay away. Unless Chris was suffering from the sin of pride at the time. too proud to accept help. Or if one or the other had found a temporary hole to fill in their lives. Flippa, I don't get it. There's nothing there. Just a main page and another with a McQueen quote. Does the second page mean it's under construction or something?

it's under construction- as I said it just appeared... and also a new FB page (with a lot of, shall we say, wild claims!)- either a bit of an elaborate joke/ hobby of AJ's or, maybe more???

It's important to note though that generally *couple* life-span is 2 years, while *character* life-span might be longer (5-7 years).
I can't really think of any couple that was together for longer than 2 years (together here meaning their story, from first meeting to end including the time when they weren't an official couple yet. Like Gregor and "Katharina" in the hangar). Maybe Vanessa/Felix except they weren't really a couple for most of it and I think he was even off the show for a while during it. Basically, she was busy in other storylines even if the idea of their coupling was sort of still at the back of the minds of the writers, kinda like Jan or Julia being with a multitude of other people during their story.
I don't think that that is a firm role though. I think by the time a couple lasts a while
(a) They either are popular and one of them tries to leave ("Julia", "Ulli", "Hanna", "Cecile") (b) They are not popular so there is no reason to keep them together that long (c) There have been multiple writer changes and the new writers are bored with them
In an odd way I think Jo's long absence and the long storyline drought could actually work in Ollian's favor and might help them last longer because they had such a long break in the middle. (for example Leo and Sarah were for a bit longer than 2 years but she spent about half a year in rehab)
Also, it seems most overarching supercouple stories (whether Leo/Sarah, Leo/Cecile, Lydia/Sebastian) seem to be calculated for two years after they are considered officially closed in some way or form even if the actors are still around. It could also benefit Ollian that they weren't planned in such a longterm overarching way, because there is less of a definite end which means that other stories can be stacked on on top of it.

Now there's nothing there but temporama.de used to have car reviews, some of them written by AJ. I was glad to know that AJ really likes my car (it's a new Cinquecento).

I think VL always had one "married" couple or like Ollian who seem married (I love the comments like Miriams "Ehekrise"). I read that some people read about Christians heart thing: Does anyone know if it's true that not following certain "rules" is lessening the medical treatment when it comes to the need of a transplantation because they somehow "see" if someone didn't rest like they said? (Could get tricky for Christian then)

I agree that they need at least three or four men, preferably five. If Andi returns, that's one, and this guy is now two...so that means they need, at the very least, one more. I vote for someone to show up in town as Olli's long lost brother! After all, he's got one, and they could drop him in for instant drama. I agree, Olli's long lost brother could come into play (of course his name is not Jorge and he isn't anything like I am currently writing him in my story "Who We Are") I would love to see who they cast and see how he would take Ollian and Gregor etc. Maybe he could live with everyone in the flatshare?

If Christian is overseeing the woods around the castle now, I vote for Eduard shooting him on one of his hunting exercises.
After the castle job that Christian was interested in went to David, I never thought we'd see him there. But Eduard going hunting and Christian getting a job that's close to Thore's real-life interests, it's so obvious these two could run into each other. And Gregor hates Eduard with a passion already.
Maybe Christian will go hunting with Eduard. Driving a wedge between the brothers would be fun and Eduard needs to be maneuvered away from Luise again, now that they're about to marry. And who mentions weapon enthusiasts on a soap and doesn't use that for something? Christian needs interaction at the castle beyond Stella and Gregor and Justus.

Didn't some people assume that Eduard coud find out that he's gay? Maybe he's interested in Christian soon But I agree. Christian hanging out in the woods could lead to him seeing/hearing things around the castle. Or get in the way with this.

I like the idea of christian finding out some dirt on the castle dwellers. It would be fun to test his moral compass.

Justus in normal clothes Justus/Olli would be cuter I think. After the spoiler pic where Justus is giving flowers to Elisabeth I thought he's more like Frau Keppler who was secretly in love with her boss Johannes.
