I think that Olivia knew better not to get offended when Christian wasn't exactly nice to her. For once she found an empathy to realise in what state Christian was.

I totally agree with you Lola! That's the same reason why it worked for me: it's in character. I loved it when Christian got on his soapbox and told them off. For me it worked better this time then it did when he came out after his victory in the boxing match. I liked that one, but this felt much more natural. Christian on his soapbox was great… that entire speech just oozed Christian!! I loved it how everything seem to fit today and how everyone stayed in character (unlike certain other soaps that are willing to sacrifice their character’s personalities for the sake of drama ).

That was some episode, wasn't it! Quite worth while the "happy but routine couple" scenes building up to it, I should say. After all, if you had christmas every day it wouldn't do either ... . Although I wouldn't mind some more Oli and Christian story lines in the future, don't get me wrong here ;D.. . Btw. I don't think it was coincidence that Oli woke up just at the moment when Christian told him his love . He just had to - reminded me of when Oli came to "the big fight" and only Oli's voice would get through to Christian ... . But then of course TPTB had to show the moment when Oli wakes up and they've got a timetable after all . Really good rapid eye movements of Jo- I keep wondering, if I could do this ... . On a side note: although it was so dramatic most of the time I had to laugh when Olivia said her line about how revenge makes things worse ("eye for an eye") - what an unusual insight for her ;D and then Christian said something on the lines of: you're the one to tell me. Would be really nice if he could "turn tables on her" some time in the future and tell her: Olivia, someone very wise ;D told me once ... and then quoting her ... .

Did you put the 'Ich liebe Dich so sehr' in there twice on purpose Ivan? ;D ETA: Not that I'm complaining; saves me some rewinding... ;D I noticed it when I watched the converted video ;D When I cut the scenes together I noticed that the last scene wasn't in it so I added it again. It turned out it was there but not complete. Take it as a bonus I’m with Amber… it saves a bit of rewinding!! ;D

I liked the scene in the hospital ... lovely to hear Christian say those words. Now he just has to say them again, when Olli can hear him. You don’t give up, do you?!! I loved today’s “Ich liebe Dich so sehr”, but of course, it would be great to have Christian say it one more time for Olli to hear (and enjoy) it as well!

I think it won't take long until he says it to Olli again. That's what I like about almost-death storys. The characters are more grateful after it.
The moment when he held his hand was really sweet. I love it when Christian is extra careful. The tenderness between them is special. Something I missed with Sülo and Mischa on Marienhof.

I saw the clips at school, and could not wait till I got home to see them again more enjoyably:) Thank you Dutchy for the recap and Ivan for the clip and snapshots!! I didn't understand a lot , but not much was needed misunderstand ( language wise) when it came to the hospital scene between the boys, totally loved it!! The scene at the gym seems really good, from the translations read on the board thank you dutchy and amber so i can't wait for the subtitles. Though I do agree I could have gone with the circling camera, got me a bit dizzy, but either way it looked good! Christian's face when he saw Kai come in, it was awesome how he went from happy to angry with the tears in his eyes....priceless!

Thank you IVAN for the videos and screencaps!!!Thank you *** dutchy and amber for the recap!!! I read your posts before I watched the videos!! I really really really this episode!! The spinning camera ..not so much..but it was fine Loved Olivia intervening, I know I am in the minority here, but would have loved it more if Christian would have come to his senses on his own.[/sub] Loved just about everything today..Christian, Olli, Gregor, Olivia, Charlie, Sigur Ros...can't wait for the subtitles....with Nanna and Tihkon's subtitling help, I can understand all the nuances!

Here is the English Subtitled version of today's episode. It's condensed into one clip. Enjoy! Thank you so much Nanna and Ivan! I'll confess, as soon as Christian started sniffling, my eyes got teary. And that is the first time I have gotten misty eyed for this storyline.

Thanks everyone. Great episode. Thore hit it out of the park. If it was an american soap, this would be emmy worthy, IMO.
Lolaruns, love your, "gay!Jesus preaches to the heathens" line, that sumed up my fears as well, but it worked for me too.
I'm so on cloud 9 right now.

Thank you so much Nanna and Tihkon! Your work is so appreciated, especially when you help us poor non-German speakers understand such a great episode.

I have to say just a few things before I carry myself on to bed! That was a truly Intelligent and Beautiful speech Christian made in the boxing club! I should really know since I have watched this Friday and Today's episode at least 5 times a piece!!! Some honorable mentions: Charlie, you lucky angel, Aunt or No, you got to lovingly rub Olli's arm and chest. I know it's inappropriate to be jealous, but I think I am.... Gregor, I'm advertising for a Big Brother, I need to be caught up in a big bro hug....Stat! Axel I don't know if you are on Jenny Craig, but if you weren't such a mean and clueless homophobe, Id tell you how good you look!! Constantine(sp), I'm a female, and I have been right where you are now...the forever friend...but I bet, your luck will be better then mine. Hang in there...Judith may finally get a clue later on down the road!! Olivia, woman of action, You are an excellent cousin and friend!! Olli, I know you've been in a coma, but your ears must have been burning, folks all over the world, have been talking and worrying about you for 2 days!! Not just for Christian, I'm glad you're awake.. just for us!

That was one of not the most superb episodes so far regarding the Ollian storyline.
Thore's acting today really was Emmy worthy. That speech at the boxing club was heart wrenching. Perfectly executed by Thore. Just so amazingly believable.
The hospital bed scene was one of the most touching I've ever seen on TV or in a movie. It appeared 100% authentic. And the "I love you so much" came loud and clear and it was beautiful.
Honestly, I'm one of those individuals who never cry during a movie or TV program. Heck...i'm not a very emotional person, full stop!! But today I was fighting back tears. The lump in my throat was for real.
These last few episodes have been amazing. Geez...what an amazing love story. My appreciation letter to the VL writers/producers of this show is in the mail tomorrow.
Thank you so very much Nanna, Ivan and Tihkon for all your dedication. So very much appreciated.

I love that Christian is such a 'soap-box' character. I'm pretty sure that he would annoy me to death if I knew him in real life, but on this show his tendency to assume the moral high stand and preach about it to all and sundry is highly amusing. It also, as has been pointed out, allows the show to point out some obvious injustices by having Christian rage against them, without it feeling as if the show itself is pointing its fingers. Of course it also helps that Thore is frequently hilarious when playing Christian as holier-than-thou.
That said, there was nothing hilarious about his speech to the boxers - it was, in a way, the pay-off for all those times when I've cringed and laughed at his soap-box manners, because suddenly it all fell into place, and it felt only right and proper that Christian would make such a speech. Somebody needed to try and make those thugs see some sense, and he was really the only one who could. I thought it was an incredibly well-played and well-staged scene. At first the boxers were all against him, but as soon as he mentioned the night-stick, the mood changed and Axel started freaking out. I wonder what would have happened, had Olivia not turned up...
Other things... I loved Olivia in this. Putting all her usual scheming and personal agenda away to protect and help her cousin. I think the way Olli put her on ice previously made her realise how much she actually cares about him, and that she needs him in her life. Not that that is going to stop her being nasty in the future, but right now she's incredibly sweet (in her own Olivia-way, which I love because it makes it so much more plausible).
And then of course there is the final scene. Gregor making sure Christian is okay (awwwwww), and Christian alone with his comatose love. There's nothing he can do but wait, nothing he can do to stop himself from feeling, and so his emotions finally break through his usual armour and he starts crying. Olli has broken through all of his defenses, one by one, and now he feels completely lost without him by his side. It makes so much sense for his character, which is what I love the most. Kudos to Thore (and the writers), not only for this episode, but also for portraying the entire journey from 'I'm not gay!!!' to 'lost without him' without losing the essential 'Christian-ness' of his character.

Thank you Nanna and Tihkon! This was an AMAZING episode! I swear that Olivia was channeling Olli! The hospital scene with Christian holding Olli's hand and crying and saying "I love you so much" :'(and then Olli opened his eyes and that kiss on the forehead with the happy gasp after the kiss was so endearing and poignant ...I also loved it when Christian saw Kai he instantly switched from pure joy to angry protective mode and he still had tears in his eyes! Thore's performance is worth an Emmy!
