^^ Couldn't agree more. I like your banner. thank you! it's a pity there aren't many gay couples on TV rite now. Yeah... A lot of characters have been killed off since I joined this board last year. Hope we will get a lot of new gay characters this year. And a new banner would be awesome! Sad to be reminded of all the characters that have passed away...

Thanks for creating the new banner Harmonium! Indeed it needed some updating. It sure has been quiet around here... And I'm also at fault because I said I'd come back and I didn't... *hangs head in shame* Doesn't mean I didn't miss the CT and especially it's regulars! I miss the old gang... momnoc, restenergy, louisa, Princess Ollian, aldebaran, mikey, aldi etc.... But we all have a life away from this Board. Wonder how they're doing. Missing you all as well and wondering the same thing. Some I do know about through FB, but others are a mystery to me. Have been thinking about you though Neand! Hope you are well... (No idea if you're still checking the forum, but part of me thinks you do) Life over here is still hectic every now and then. Still love my new studies, even though it's a bit time consuming in combination with work and a bit of social life. I often wish I could put more effort in it, because it really is interesting. Have become an auntie for the second time: a little girl this time. The happiest girl I have ever set eyes on: she is constantly smiling: even if you wake her up in the middle of the night. Quite adorable. <3 And she adores her 'big' brother. Him goofing around makes her giggle like mad: really funny to see. ;D I have never stopped checking the board for some spoilers, but I couldn't really stay away from the HO thread. 'Stug' drew me in again... (Thanks for that Tihkon! ) xx for all my old friends! And so glad to see new people over here! Hi Ómar and Nanii! So happened to all the this chat?? I never had the chance of participating in this, but I mean I guess it's time to bring it back. It's would definitely be nice to talk about something here. This is a chat thread after all, so why not use it?? True. It should be used. If used well, it can be lots and lots of fun. What kind of storylines are you following at the moment? O, and who it the guy in your icon? Haven't seen him before (I think) and since I am kind of curious....

Hi amber80. ;D Guess there used to be a lot more happening in this thread.

Yes, there was! Especially when you take in consideration that we had already been talking for 380 pages when this thread got deleted by accident. (As you can read in the first post of this thread).) So we have been talking for more than 500 pages and it was a lot of fun. We started when this forum started and everything was still new and exciting. (It surprises me that I'm still here- more or less- after four years. ;D) In the end I think it started to get a bit too much time consuming. That was the reason I started posting less and less anyway. I do have fond memories of spending half my night here though. ;D (Everyone was/is in different time zones) Which part of the world are you from?

I'm from Denmark. And I see you're from Holland. Nice. So what have kept you on this board for 4 years?

Denmark is pretty nice too. What kept me here? First it was all the lovely people here. So many people from all kinds of places and backgrounds: really interesting. And all of us have at least one thing in common: our love for gay storylines. Not something I can discuss with most of my friends (practically none tbh), so it's really nice to have a place where you can fangirl all you want and can have a nice conversation as well. When it started to get a bit more quiet I kept coming back every now and then to check the spoiler threads for the shows I was still following. And what brought you here? Any particular storyline you were watching?

That seems like a good reason to stay. I came to this board after watching ATWT (Nuke) and VL (Chrolli) on youtube. They were the first gay sl's I watched. I think I found a link someone posted to this board and the rest is history. ;D I never knew there were so many sl's and I think I've watched all of them (some are better than others). And like you, I really don't have anyone to talk to about the gay sl's, so I come here. Sometimes I join the discussion and other times, I just enjoy reading the others discussing. What is keeping me to this board at the moment, is definitely the Stug sl. The writers on Hollyoaks are amazing for giving their gay characters some great sl's. When I first got here, I was very interested to see the Will and Sonny sl, but that is dragging on and on and... I also loved Chrolli's sl, but for now they have been pushed to the background and it's a long time since they had a really great sl. And as I mentioned earlier in this thread, a lot of gay characters have been killed (or written) off in the last year or so, so that's disappointing. (I won't be missing Aaron though. )

Ah, a bit of everything then. I like that. ;D I haven't seen all of the storylines, but quite a few. I started out with Nuke and JP/Craig and I think it was Christian/Olli that brought me here too. Before I was already checking out two forums about Nuke and JP/Craig, but once I got here there was no need for that any longer. And yes, Stug definitely is THE storyline to follow at the moment. Really excited about that one... Like you I was interested in DOOL as well, especially since I didn't watch the whole process of Will finally getting to grips with his feelings. I started watching that SL once he came out for the first time. I really hoped they would put him together with Sonny but by the looks of it it's going to take forever. If it's going to happen at all... No missing Aaron here either. His coming out story was done in an impressive way, but the rest was simply not my thing. I do really miss Roman. Dero is and always will be my favorite. They'll always have a special place in my heart.

JP & Craig! Great sl and I just adore James Sutton. I hope it will help DOOL to get some new writers on the show. Sonny is the best character ever, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit to see him again. And I do think Chandler is doing an incredible job playing Will, they have just dragged the coming out proces for too long. It took a year from the rumours that the Will character would come out, to Will saying "I think I might be gay"... And I completely agree with you on Aaron's sl. The coming out scenes were incredible and very well acted. It just went down hill from there... If the writers ever think of bringing the Aaron charater back, I hope they will get another actor to play him. I skipped some big parts of Dero's sl. They had that 'dark period' in their sl (I think that was what the girls from youtube called it?) and I found that very dull. I do think both actors have done an amazing job with their characters, but after Roman's death I haven't followed Deniz sl. But what made Dero your favorite? Did you also follow the Stendan sl or have you only followed Stug? And what do you think about Lucas' (and Edwin's) sl?

Loved JP&Craig, but I was probably one of very few who hated the sunset ending. And most of all the horrible sunset picture at the end. *shudders* And I'll never forgive the writers for the horrible ending they gave poor Kieron. But then again: I loved the mess that was JP and Craig getting together the first time round. The Big Reveal was amazing. ;D Agreeing with you about Sonny. Really missing him. All this stuff with Lucas and Sami is not all that interesting... :S Feels like they're never going to stop talking. And yes, Dero had a dark period. The EKP girl called it the 'dark years' and I actually managed to keep watching during that period. Never lost hope that one day they would be reunited. And it paid of in a big way. Dero 2.0 was the best storyline I've ever seen. It had absolutely everything I love in a story: humor, angst, great love scenes, etc. And they had so much natural chemistry between them. Although I still miss Roman, I feel like it was one of the best goodbyes he could get. I do not cry often when watching a soap, but they made me cry so much it's almost embarrasing. I tried to watch some of the Stendan sl, but I stopped after a while. The violence part was such a big turn off... That's also why I really hope they'll never get back together. Plus I think that Ste has grown too much since he broke with Brendan: I would hate to see him take a step back. (I really, really do not think Brendan is able to change). I started watching again when I found 'Stug' clips in my subscription list on YT. I hadn't read any spoilers, so I was curious who 'Stug' was. One clip and I was hooked. Love Lucas! Plus it's a Dutch soap, so I have watched that show on a regular basis. Must confess that it's been a while now, because I hated the way they let Edwin die. Him and Lucas had so much potential... Their initial sl was lovely. Are you still watching Lucas' story?

There were a lot of problems for me with their sl. I think JP & Craigs sl was rushed at the end, so the sunset ending kind of fell flat... But I do think that their sl was very dramatic and different, all though the Craig character was very difficult to like at times. The big reveal was awesome! ;D And I love the scene in the aftermath when Craig went back to Sarah, only to tell her he was in love with JP. DOOL = Talking a lot!!! Hope to see Sonny very soon. The dark years, that's right. I first started watching after most of the sl had aired, so I skipped most of it. Can't believe you sat through all of it! ;D But I have to agree with you, the guys had amazing chemistry and they made a very unique and beautiful ending for Roman. Even I shed a little tear. I had big issues with the violence as well. The only thing that kept me watching was the characters as individuals. I think that both Kieron and Emmett are doing a great job and I love how they embodies their characters. I just looked away when Brendan was hitting Ste (but was cheering a little when Ste hit Brendan with a baseballbat ;D). Poor Edwin. That was so sad and I haven't really watched the sl since he died. I did see a couple of episodes, but it was with Lucas being arrested and having troubles with a cop. Very boring...! And I hate when Lucas is playing the cocky rich kid. I have watched Christian and Syed's sl. I think it's awesome that they show a muslim being in a gay relationship, but there is so much I dislike about their sl. Syed's wife and his mother especially. And there were so many times when he was just horrible towards Christian. That was some difficult episodes to get through... Haven't watched it in a while. Heard they have been off screen for quite some time now. What is it that you like about Christian and Syed's sl?

I've been (re)watching most of Brendan's story this week and I now understand better why there is so much love for his character. But I still can't get over the abusing part. Great character for a soap, but as a partner for Ste? No. Ste deserves way better than that. Although I must admit it is fun to watch them interact, especially since Ste has grown some backbone. What I like about Christian and Syed is - other than that they are both gorgeous ;D - that they are both flawed characters. Well, most characters on a soap are, but in a relationship it's usually one who is worse than the other. Between those two is equally divided I think. They both have their flaws, but they do love eachother so much and they're both willing to work on their relationship. Lately they've been doing pretty well. You really should catch up: it's been quite good lately. They haven't been on a lot, but the scenes they did get were pretty great. The other thing I like is that they are both interesting characters on their own. Especially Syed (and his family ). Oh, and Amira has gone now and Zainab has finally accepted Christian. That was a very touching episode. Beautifully done.

Hard to believe I still remembered my password after all these months... This is like a trip down memory lane... a very long trip as a matter of fact... wish we could re-capture the way it was... but so much has changed... gone is DERO (my favourite couple)... gone is KISH (so very sweet)... Kevin and Scotty are but a memory kept alive via YouTube. We were all discovering daytime TV gay characters from around the world. We cursed the writers when couples split, when a character died, or something horrible happened to him... yet we quickly forgave those same writers as soon as a kiss was shared... hoping against all hope that the love that dared not speak its name would conquer all obstacles. We spent hours discussing Ollian's flat floor plan. We were so naïve, but so hopeful. That's what made this Blog so wonderful. And this Chat Thread was our way of allowing real life into the Blog... our kids, our work, our loved ones, the weather... the jobs we loved/hated (MOMNOC loved/FLOATILLA hated), ... we applauded Obama's election together (I think)... we felt terrible when nature wreaked havoc on areas Board members lived in (Australia, Italy, Canada, Scotland, the USA to name a few)... LOUISA introduced us to Merlin (some of us became diehard fans)... SHEEPIE shared with us his sorrow at the loss of a little one, and we all cried with him... some wanted to learn German so bad (that's how enthralled we were by DERO and OLLIAN). Basically, we discovered the world... ALDEBERAN's Italy, SHEEPIE's Scotland, LOUISA's Wales, AMBER80's Netherlands, MIKEY's Toronto, AUSSIE54's Australia, ELDANESH's Nova Scotia, PRINCESS OLLIAN's England, LOLARUNS' Germany, MOMNOC's California, RESTENERGY's Wisconsin/Minnesota, Roddieb's Newfoundland and Labrador... and so on and so forth. To think that Sheepie is now but a guest, as is Nanna and that Roddieb is not even a blip on our radar screen. Hope you all have as much fun as we did.
Take care one and all, JF

Stug all the way! ;D Love Brendan as a character, but he has to change if he want to be in Ste's life. And yes, Ste has grown a backbone and Kieron and Emmett have amazing chemistry. I love scene where Brendan comes to visit Ste and Doug in their deli and Brendan says to Ste: Aren't you gonna offer me a drink? Ste: No. Not at all. Not even if you were dying of thirst. Brendan: He loves me really... Okay. And then Brendan walks out. Such a small scene, but I just thought it was hilarious. And very interesting to see the new spoilers about Stendan. Can't wait for their scenes! I have to agree with you - both guys are gorgeous! What have bothered me about their sl, is that I think Christian suffered the most. I know that Syed was finding the relationship with Christian difficult because of his family, but it was heartbreaking to see how tough it was for Christian. And I found it very difficult when he was beaten and Syed's father just walked pass him. But maybe I'm remembering things. I think it could be nice to catch up on their sl. Glad to hear Amira is gone! ;D Never liked her character (for obvious reasons).

Ha, I'm back! Had a test to prepare this week. So glad I didn't study really hard, because it was way too easy. I like easy tests: they make you feel smart. ;D On my program right now? I watched some of the old storyline earlier this week (not something you should do if you're supposed to be studying!) and I had to admit I just couldn't hate or even dislike his character. I hate how he treated the ones he loved or claimed to love, but other than that he's interesting to watch. Especially since some of the other characters can be quite boring... I get what you mean regarding Syed and his parents. I absolutely loathed Massood when he didn't help Christian. I don't think he could have gone lower. But especially Zaineb has redeemed herself (in some way) and now lets Christian in in her family. Which was groundbreaking!

Just finished my paper... Hate homework! I guess the thing about Brendan is that he doesn't really have any limits. You can't be quite sure what he's doing next - he's very unpredictable. And he just have some funny lines sometimes. ;D I just watched the last couple of episodes from the Chryed sl. I thought it was very sweet the way Christian and Zainab talked to each other. It was nice to see them talking without fighting (and very happy to see Amira leave. Finally! ) But talk about removing characters from the set... Are the boys coming back again or...? And sorry harmonium. I didn't see it (our country sucked anyway.) But I guess Sweden won... (danm it!)

Well, at least you finished your work. Mine is still a work in progress. I just can't seem to motivated myself enough. Once I'm busy working, it's alright. But to get started... *sigh* Are you in secondary school or are you studying? (No idea how the schoolsystem in Denmark works ) Ugh, Brendan is not on my list of favorite people today. I just watched today's episode and let's just say he has really bad timing. Well, at least they keep the story moving. (At bit too fast for my liking, but hopefully it'll work out fine in the end ) I guess the EE boys are coming back. Eventually. But it's really slow at the moment. Perhaps John Partridge (Christian) is working on another project again? Sometimes that's the reason why he / they aren't on a lot, but I'm not really sure. Just hoping it means they've got something bigger coming up later this year. ;D I didn't really watch Eurovision either harmonium. I didn't even listen to our own entry. Once I heard who they were sending to the festival and what she was going to wear I knew enough. And I understood that she was horribly off key, so no regrets there. I did hear the winning song though and it's alright. Quite catchy.

When do you have to finish your paper? I'm a mess too when it comes to self-motivation... I always finish my paper the day before... at night usually! ;D I'm not sure what secondary school means... but I'm studying to be a social worker. What are you studying? And yes, Brendan was not very nice! But Doug really messed up big time... I can understand why Ste would be hurt. A nice big sl would be nice for Chryed. ;D It's just always sad that the characters disappear for such a long time (it's the same with Chrolli - although Christian is on screen some times at the moment...)

I'm not sure what secondary school means... but I'm studying to be a social worker. What are you studying? I just looked up how the school system in Denmark is organized and I noticed it's a bit different from ours. Not completely, but I saw that what we call secondary school is still 'folkeskole' in your country. (Secondary school over here is between the ages 12 to 18). According to Wiki secondary school in Denmark is called 'ungdomsuddannelse' and is attended by 15 to 20-years-old, right? Being a social worker sounds interesting. How far are you? (How many years still to go?) I have a looooooong history of studying. ;D I started studying law, but after many frustrating years I decided it really wasn't making me happy. It was just not for me. Right now I'm stuyding to become a history teacher in secondary schools. Loving that; suits me so much better. When do you have to finish your paper? I'm a mess too when it comes to self-motivation... I always finish my paper the day before... at night usually! ;D It's not just one paper unfortunately... It's a whole bunch of assignments and they should have been finished a while ago. I'm just a notorious procastinator... (if that's a word ) But I totally get that finishing late at night. ;D And yes, Brendan was not very nice! But Doug really messed up big time... I can understand why Ste would be hurt. A nice big sl would be nice for Chryed. ;D It's just always sad that the characters disappear for such a long time (it's the same with Chrolli - although Christian is on screen some times at the moment...) It's really an interesting time for HO! I just love it that the spoilers are so vague: it keeps you guessing and enables you to be surprised. I was actually quite happy with how yesterday's ep turned out; much less dramatic than I feared. Ste is not nearly as easily persuaded as he used to be. Regarding Christian/Olli: I think it's just really hard for writers to keep writing interesting stuff for a couple that has been on long as they have been. But I really like that they have been around for so long; it's really nice to have a somewhat stable couple. Really hope they will not get separated again in the forseeable future: last time was pretty awful. It's just hard to see any of them with someone else: it just feels wrong...

Cool that you looked it up. ;D Yes, what we call 'folkeskole' is from when you're 6-16 years old (you can be a year younger or older). Then we have 'ungdomsuddannelserne'. There are a lot of different 'ungdomsuddannelser'. It can take from 3-4 years depending on what you are studying. When you have finished that, you can move on to a higher level of education and study law for example (if you have a good degree from your 'ungdomsuddannelse'). So I finished 'folkeskolen' and 'ungdomsuddannelsen' and right now, I'm studying for 3 and a half year and I'm almost finished with my second year (1,5 year to go! ). But I didn't know what to study either and started at other schools, but then ended where I am now. I hope I have chosen the right education, but I'm still not completely sure... Nice to hear that you found the right education. How long did you study law before you quit and how far are you from becoming a teacher? So the assignments you'r doing, is that only regarding history? HO is just blowing up at the moment! And I just can't wait for the next episode and the next and the... ;D I thought it was so awesome that Ste walked out on Brendan! Loved it! The only thing that bothered me, was that Ste signed the contract Brendan gave him and he didn't even read it first! Why would he do that? And I get why it's difficult for the writers to keep the story interesting for Chrolli (all the others sl in VL are not that great either) but I just wish they would get some help then... I just hope Chrolli will get a new interesting sl (without any of them cheating!) They have to stay together or leave the show together. As you said, they can't be with anyone else.

Memories, sweet memories! I made Mikey's stuffed tomatoes and J 9's chocolate chip cookies (seriously that's how they are listed in my cookbook!) for dinner! ;D ...... wonders how everyone is doing? Neand? Wish I could remember how to cut and paste other posts on this board! Neand did a great job of listing everyone's names! I hope all is well and healthy with your family! Miss you sweetie! xxx Might as well update while I'm logged in: Still love my job! Oldest got married 2 weeks ago to the same girl he was dating in the Chat Thread heyday. Couldn't be happier. Youngest is about to start his 2nd year at Uni, majoring in Photography. Haven't watched the shows in ages, but heard about DeRo. So heartbreaking, I dared not watch it. HO has apparently picked up again. Really need to catch up on that one. I hope Cholli are still together. That's the one that started it all for me! Sy and Christian? Geoff and Pavel? I might need to check those out too..... anything else I should catch up on?
