Actually, the semester is over - I just overslept , But now I have something to look forward to watching on my day off You should have kept shtum and we would have been none the wiser; thinking you were being diligent and hard working instead of just being a lazy snooze-bug. You didn't miss much here as there weren't any English subs on the premiere - again! I expect they'll be there in an hour or two though. Enjoy your day off.

This was another episode where I felt that 2 different people are directing it. While the Mork-Pi storyline has its moments of humor, it feels very different from the Duean-Meen storyline. Mork and Pi kind of feel like characters out of a Shakespearean romantic comedy (something like Taming of the Shrew (or perhaps the 10 Things I Hate About you version from 1999) or Much Ado About Nothing) - a messy love triangle, some light comedy, and you know that the stars will align and the right pair will develop. Duean and Meen is just messy and forced. I do appreciate that Mork has made his intentions clear, though he is maybe a bit too aggressive. Phuwin as Pi is doing a good job of actually swooning a little bit even though he is definitely confused by the attention (and who wouldn't swoon with Mork's high wattage flirting). And Mork must have a fetish for Pi's hair - as he is always touching it. I am a little bit surprised that the professor didn't stop Pi to check his work in the lab - the way he was rushing to escape his classmates's knowing looks and questions was definitely leading to shoddy lab work and wouldn't do in the real world if he was actually doing something to some poor patient's mouth. Weirdly, Neo looks really good with a beard?

I find Pi and Mork very believable, but I am having a hard time getting into DueanMeen.

Well 2/3rds of the episode was a delight (once again). Neo and Louis are really trying hard - but they have very little chemistry, and Duean's multiple rounds of dishonesty is going to catch up to them. Last week I thought the Gecko in the classroom was a really strange way to set them up camping outside (I mean come on - if Duean is frightened about a little lizard, I wouldn't suggest camping out where he might get closer to a bunch of other creepy crawlies - www.en.siam-info.de/venomous_animals/snakes_venomous.html). Also, using the narrator to tell the audience what Duean is supposed to be thinking doesn't help when Neo's facial expressions aren't quite matching up. Mueng Nan did an admirable job trying to let Pi down softly even if it crushed Pi. He didn't turn him down - he just echoed what Pi was already internally thinking about (the you talk about Mork a lot lines had me laughing). Pi continued with his self-absorbed, brattiness (or normal teenager behavior) - and having his mother call him out on it on top of everything else was a bit much. I don't think she was really upset about him liking a boy (and it is refreshing to have Pi clearly into boys - there is no sign of "you are the only boy I love" syndrome - which I half expect Duean to pull), instead I think she just was frustrated that her son wasn't very communicative with her and worried from him not showing up until quite late. It will be interesting to see how they follow through with this scene in the next episodes. Pi's lightweightness with alcohol was pretty unbelievable - they should have gone the route where he had already had a couple before Mork showed up to comfort him. Then I would understand him passing out. Pi's internal monologue questioning liking Nan vs. liking Mork was adorable - the lad doth protest too much While I agreed with Mork's assessment that Pi wasn't really in love with Nan- but instead obsessed, I kind of felt that Mork may just be as obsessed with Pi and that he is using his personal definition of love to justify his own obsession with Pi. I would argue that he is wandering into emotional territory where he may become quite controlling (though Pi probably fits the controlling aspect to - he is just ineffectual at it - for example trying to control the outcome after Duean's idiot friends crashed into Nan's car). All that said, I am looking forward to the progression of their relationship. So why is Mork wandering around outside after 2 am in the pouring rain? - it was maybe a bit too convenient to have him be at the right place at the right time to comfort Pi. As aside, mydramalist now has a listing for the actor set to play the older brother Wan - unfortunately they didn't pull in Earth - so my theory of a nice reunion of Mix and Earth is ruined

Pi has always been self absorbed and oblivious, so it isn't surprising he always jump to conclusions. Otherwise, he wouldn't have thought Mork was after Nan for the longest time. It is part of the comedy. Pi's lightweight with alcohol is an acceptable as this is a comedy and it is used mainly for comedic purposes. I do wonder how Mork always seem to pop up out of nowhere when Pi needs him. Pi just went home, how in the world did Mork knows that Pi would need an umbrella out in the rain. My guess, Mork has a GPS implanted on Pi

Mork don't give Pi alcohol - it is like feeding a mogwai after midnight and ending up with a bunch of gremlins Their impromptu date night seemed fun - at least Mork got carried away by Pi's enthusiasm. I have to say though that whispering sweet things (and it really looked like he was even nibbling on Mork's ear - but that might have been 1:00 am delusions from waiting for subs on my part) into the ear of the guy carrying you is not the way to get him to back off. I think it is not going to be pretty when Pi finally puts 2 and 2 together all the way and realizes that Mork has been his chat confidant all along. I think the Pi's delusions that he is perpetually a failure are coloring his interpretation of his feelings - Meung Nan is the safe option to go after, because after already being rejected, Pi still chases after him. Pi doesn't seem prepared to go after someone who actually has more than a brotherly interest him - and so he is already putting road blocks in place with Mork because he is convinced that he will fail with him as well. I liked Wan - I liked the fact that the family eventually came together. I am still slightly confused by Pi's sudden intuition that his mother wasn't mad about finding a picture of a boy in his stuff. Here's hoping we get a nice family gathering where Wan's boyfriend gets to be present. (Though I did find it hilarious when the parents were confused as to which car to look at - the father's comment on the "plus one" was delightful.) I do wonder how the father is going to react upon finding that all 3 of his sons are going to end up with guys. The "how not to do the Heimlich Maneuver" was fun (have to wonder how many of Neo's former castmates were jealous that they didn't get to do that scene - though Neo is always up for some slapstick humor, so this scene was probably one of his favorites) - the rest of that storyline was more filler.

Oh, Mork - no, not a fake girlfriend (even if she is the one proposing it and clearly seem to think it will help you win Pi's heart). Reshooting the balcony scene left it a lot less impactful then it was in the first trailer. This one was definitely not my favorite - hopefully next week will be better.

I love PhuwinNeo, but not PiDuen. Wonder if they will cycle through the balcony scene with a different boy for each of the remaining episode.
I agree that this episode wasn't the strongest, as the shippers storyline just isn't that intriguing.

Mizuryuu are you talking about the rooftop scene with the balloons? I think that the guy who's face was revealed was the same guy in the other glimpses of the same scene we have seen since the first episode.
The balcony scene I was talking about was when Mork returned Pi's clothes and stated that Pi was his Fish Upon the Sky.

When I wrote "hopefully next week will be better", I didn't realize I would have to sit through ~30 more minutes of dreck for the conversation that Mork and Pi really should have had a long time ago (and thanks to Mueng Nan for the assist in getting Pi to realize that his confidant has all along been Mork - even though he should have been smart enough to figure it out on his own). I will say that Pi wouldn't have been ready for that conversation up until now - but I think he is finally getting to the point (or at least growing up enough) where he realizes that Mork is not joking or teasing him, but instead really is romantically interested and that stopped him from running away. (And Mork - you might just be a stalker). I will admit I thought the fallout from discovering that Mork was his secret chat confident would have caused much more drama (another excuse for Pi to run away).
While I wasn't sure about the friend pretending to be Mork's girlfriend - Jan and Phuwin played off each other well, but it was more like a pair of siblings then romantic rivals. I did actually laugh when she doused herself with lemonade after eating all the spicy food. Phuwin went all in to play his character - but boy that falling all over Meung Nan went on for about 4 falls too long.
Is it mean of me to wonder how Meen and Mork could actually be brothers? I think part of it might be that we haven't seen the two in any scenes together up to this point - whereas we see Duean and Pi together practically every episode (and the two of them have enough chemistry to really feel like brothers - probably due to working together on Cause he's my boy and then this show). And having both sets of brothers all be into guys seemed very far-fetched.
The promo for next week looks promising.
