Now that the BL element of the story has begun in earnest I'm really starting to like this show more. I still find its in-your-face product placement a tad annoying, although I'll admit that Ms Becky suggestively eating the banana during the insole commercial brought a wry smile to my face.
I'm not sure whether to praise or criticise the lack of subtlety in this series. One minute I get irritated by Moira being such a ridiculous caricature with no redeeming qualities whatsoever and the next I find myself smirking at the double-entendre of Sky and Ace visually humping each other while trying to burst balloons.
The drive-thru scene went on a little too long for me but I gather the length was due to the fact the two workers at the window are well-known vloggers in the the Philippines who were making a cameo appearance. What I did like about that scene - and the later one with the chef, is that they both assumed that Ace and Sky were a couple, which was a good way to illustrate how others are already reading the interaction between them.
Favourite bits - when the boys were frolicking in the pool together and the the girlfriends enviously looked on; and the end after Sky saved Ace from drowning and their eyes met while that gushy song kicked in ... now that really was a BL 'moment'.
Here's the song in full:

Here's the song in full: First thing is that the actress that plays Moira is doing a spot on job because her character has already been killed off in my dreams. I could not have someone in my life that toxic and keep a straight face and tell them I love them. There's 2 moments in the pool where she's genuinely laughing. I'm not sure if we were supposed to be able to see that or not but either way I thought to myself "I bet she's sweet in real life". I loved the how Sky saved Ace this time around. It's obvious now that Ace is starting to realize his feelings for Sky. Now it's time for Sky to jump on board

I am finding both main characters too unlikeable to keep watching. I might skim through the show after it finishes

Someone has already picked out the perfect son-in-law! I think Sky's mom would take anyone over Moira. Poor Ken though - he won't be very happy that his brother has a really cute boyfriend. I kind of want a spin-off show that focuses on Sky's family - because I think it would be delightful.
I kind of want to see whatever Moira thought was happening in the pool - didn't care for the 3 minute repeat of the ending scene from episode 4 (but suspect we will be seeing (many) flashbacks from Moira's (or maybe Kim's) viewpoint)
Waiter Jake is a cutie - Kim should date him.
Ace has it really bad. Miss Becky definitely ships them.

I am surprised that we are only at the half-way point, seeing how the next episode is supposed to be the cake competition.
It was pretty clear from the family breakfast that Sky's mother was rooting for Sky-Ace. Sky feeding Ace the shrimp got everyone else excited.
Ace flirting and being flirted with at the gym was kind of fun - while he might not have been ready to fully come out to Kim, he definitely enjoys the sight of a good looking guy. His lunch date with Kim was also nice - and both did a good job of acknowledging their (different) feelings for each other. Kim definitely tried to get Ace to open up about Sky - and he seemed almost ready to tell her his true feelings. Here's hoping Kim's future will include a cute waiter - she deserves to be happy as well.
Sky's family is still the highlight - the four have good chemistry together and actually feel like a family - a very loving, caring family. I suspect that if Ace pushes more help on them though, Sky's parents (especially) will start to feel embarrassed by their need for help. The end scene was nice with Sky and Ace barbecuing.

Most companies would be thrilled with first runner-up. Ace's dad is a dick. Why was everything blue and purple during their practice sessions - and then their cake was really bland looking on stage? The long montage of everyone being flirty in the kitchen culminating in sugar flowers was something else. I did think the Brazilian cake looked the best of the four - the Indonesian cake was really simple and wouldn't be out of place at a lot of weddings, but I didn't think it was all that special. I actually didn't think Sky's cake looked that great.
I am not quite sure I get Kim's reaction in the beginning - I kind of had the impression from earlier episodes that while she had some affection for Ace, that it was more of a sisterly love than anything romantic.
The school bullies dream sequence was just weird and I didn't think it was necessary.
The promo for next week makes it look like everything is going to come to a head with Ace and Sky- finally.

That was a very awkward lead up to a first kiss - then bang, the floodgates unleashed. I am genuinely amazed - I really didn't think this show could pull of that much passion. It may have been Aki's best acting in the entire series so far - and he and Miko clearly were very much in sync with one another in the bedroom. The literal fireworks were probably overkill The show really missed some fairy tale elements - they should have had Miss Becky moonlighting as the clothes designer. She would have been an amazing fairy godmother Next week looks like the return of the Moira - more pissed off than ever.

I have to admit I wasn't really expecting this series to go as far as it did due to the whole campy Disneyesque feel it has had so far. In fact I think after originally watching the trailer some months ago I had decided in my head that the kiss on the rooftop would probably be a part of the fairy-tale finale. Despite the deliberate teasing by the director, I thought the kiss, when it came was very natural and believable. I loved how Sky shed a tear (ala Gameboys) in the first moments and I can forgive the OTT fireworks as I really was swept up in the moment thanks to the music and emotional impact. The bedroom scene was a real surprise too and I was impressed with the chemistry Aki and Miko showed together. It looked sexy and hot, but for me the most beautiful moment was when Ace mouthed "I love you" on the bed. That came across as so touching, sweet and genuine that it literally made me gasp slightly. As for next week, I wouldn't be surprised if Moira has a misleading photo of Sky giving Ace the kiss of life at the pool which she'll post online or send to Ace's dad or something.

OMG, this episode made me cry!!!!!!!!!!!¨It was so beautiful, the scene on the rooftop, both confessing their feelings and their first kiss. When Sky shed a tear, they got me goosebumps! And I didn't expect, the kiss would be that long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the best kissing scene ever , so emotional, with passion and love! can't wait for the next episode

This was the best kissing scene ever , so emotional, with passion and love! can't wait for the next episode My mouth literally fell open at how long the kiss was. There were a few teases throughout the episode and I was like "Ah they got us with the fake-out." But they went above and beyond with that kiss. Yes the fireworks were a bit much but the bedroom scene afterwards definitely made up for it. I know I got all kinds of excited just watching it so I know they had to get aroused while doing that. It was HOT!!!!

Over the past day or two there have been a few live streamed chats put out by Producer/Director Xion Lim in which he has been 'thanking people for their blessings' and giving away new snippets of information. So, for anyone who may have missed it, he officially announced My Day 2, which he said will push Jam's character more to centre stage. Ace and Sky will continue to appear too, but Inaki and Miko (who are now apparently shipped as AkiMe) are also going to be paired again in a separate BL series. Apparently Episode 8 of MD has become the first Filipino BL to reach 1 million views within 24 hours, with part 4 reaching 1 million unique views after 4 days. (I believe that means from different IP addresses - therefore classed as different viewers- as opposed to folk who may re-watch it more than once from the same IP address.) I also thought this snippet was worth a mention. It's was from a mini interview with AkiMe. Q: "Since your bed scene was aired in the series, FIRST OF YOUR MANY BED SCENES, were you turned on by Miko?" Aki: "Of Course!!! You really need to ask?" Q: "How about you, Miko... Were you turned on by Aki during the bed scene?" Miko: "Uhm... yes?" Aki: "Why are you suddenly shy?" Q: "Ok, this will be 'no holds barred' question. During the bed scene, did you get a boner while doing it with Miko?" Aki: "Absolutely!" Q: "How about you, Miko? Did you get a boner with Aki?" Miko: "I did, but in another scene..." (The scene has not yet aired so Miko can't say which exact moment that was) Q: "Oh! THAT scene!" (Q seems to have an idea which scene Miko was talking about) "That's what they need to wait and see!" I am not sure that they could have crammed anymore lovey-dovey stuff into the first 2 parts of episode 9 - both guys did a great job of portraying the wonder of new love. Though all that fooling around might give Miss Becky a heart attack if she witnesses it The last part was a bit too long, convoluted, and dark. I have no idea what Moira is thinking - but stealing Ace's dog isn't going to break up Ace and Sky. Sky and his mother were amazing. Sky's mother and zumba was amazing.
