My mom was a huge fan of this show and I actually got to watch the first couple of season with her on DVD when I was younger. It's a shame Al Corley (who played Steven in the first 2 seasons) left the show, cause the other actor they replaced him with (can't remember his name) was so bland.

The other one looked like a Ken doll and was pretty dull acting-wise.

This scene was so iconic. Can you believe It's been 35 years since it aired?

I was just going to post this the other day! I'm so excited about this, and it's going to have gay characters too! yay! ETA: It's gonna air on The CW? Oh dear, literally the worst place for gay characters. My excitement for this show just took a huge nosedive, oh well. I'm looking forward to barely there gay characters and one chaste kiss per season! Should be fun!

Yeah the CW is really poor in gay male representation beyond tokenism. But I'm encouraged by the fact that at least Steven is a regular castmember (albeit last billed) and his romance with Sammy features in the trailer, including a makeout session and bed scene. That's already leaps and bounds ahead of the CW's last offering to gay men (Kevin on Riverdale).

Well, they can still retool the pilot and cut out all the gay stuff, I hope they won't, obviously, but they can if they want. I will just say this again: I don't have high hopes for this just because it's on The CW. This isn't even just about the gay storyline. I believe a show as raunchy and campy as Dynasty would fit better on Showtime, HBO or even fucking ABC. The CW is literally a kid's network and it's the worst fit for a show like this. Oh well.. I just hope they prove me wrong and it turns out better than I expect.

this show could've done well with stronger casting; outside of Grant Show the acting looks like it leave a lot to be desired

I'm kind of glad that they won't be going with the homophobic parent route here. Been overdone. Hopefully this will result in some fresh storylines

I binged the entire original series this month and was amazed at how forwards it was in its time with the treatment of the Steven character right in the first season. It started off incredibly well. Obviously didn't keep it up, but it definitely broke new ground for prime time.
The CW version seems like a multisided raw slut fest.

On the one side it is maybe good that they want go the route homophobic parent, but my feeling says, the other side, it can be an excuse, to show a lot less of Steven in general, and a lot less of all Homodramas on the show. Like it was with the Second Version of Melrose Place, with Caleb against the Original Matt.
