Glad I never let myself get too into Dynasty. With the exception of Legends of Tomorrow, which does an OK job, I will never trust the CW with gay characters. They have shown their true colors again and again with Riverdale and the homophobic treatment of Kevin, and now we have one of their stronger characters written out of Dynasty. Best of luck to James Mackay - I hope he gets a better job on a better show and a much better network. And I’m sorry to all the Sammy/Steven fans, as they were something special.

I think it was a shame in the past that they wrote Steven out. After that I lost interest on the show.

It was good in the beginning, then it got ridiculous. Also, it always felt weird they kept Sam on the show after he divorced from Steven and his aunt died. Basically every thread tying him to the Carrington was cut, but he still turn up at the Carrington estate as if nothing happened.

Yeah they lost me with the exit of Steven. I seem to remember reading a rumour that the actor had a bust-up with the showrunner which led to Steven being written out, but on a show where no one blinks at plastic surgery, why not have him meet with an accident and return with a new (recast) face?

Considering how they basically based their show on soaps, why not just recast, and have all the character ignore that it is a new actor, ala soap tropes

It pisses me off that this show had no qualms about a lesbian relationship, which they spent plenty of time on. Yet Sam, who is openly gay, never got a real relationship. It's such a hypocritical double standard.
