Since the show comes back on the 25th of this month and it is the final season. I thought it deserved it's own thread, simply because each season really could be seen as it's own show having a distinct story being told from start to finish. We all know how it ends for Spartacus and his band of merry men and fierce women. But getting there is going to be one hell of a journey. I am looking forward to it...

So I just watched the first episode of the final season of Spartacus: War of the Damned. And it was amazing. We were promised bigger, better and more bloody and this episode delivered that and more.
Spartacus: Whatever hesitation he had last season about being the leader is completely gone. He's in control and more than a man on a mission, he is a man possed. His planing skills ahve increased he listens to his generals even when he doesn't always agree with them, but when he makes up his mid, there is no wavering. I love that.
Crixus and Naevia: Are now a two headed killing machine. I'm go glad she has come completely into her own. Her training was just a start, killing Ashur last season cemented her place with the rest of them.
Gannicus: What can I say about Gannicus. He is who he is. He believes but doesn't want to elevate himself above his brothers nor does he want to be a leader. I doubt he knows he alsread is one because Spartacus sees him as one now all he has to do is own it.
Agron and Nasir: I love that they have always been treated as a proper couple, that it's not a big deal when they show public affection towards each other. That from what was shown in this first episode Nasir has become a proper little badass. Capable of kicking ass and taking names.
Carassus: I now what his appointed task is. I know historically he does but down the rebellion. And I know I really shouldn't like him. But I do. For me he is a very interesting character, because unlike the rest of Rome his son included, he sees value and honor in what Spartacus is doing. He understand where it comes from, he even respects it. And if Spartacus was not waging war agaisnt Rome he would probablly root for Spartacus to win. He has a keen mind, he is brave, fair and in his own way a very honorable man. He understand what almost every other Roman seems not to get, which is that money and position does not or at least should not set you apart from others. It is your deeds and what you stand for which should set you apart.

One of the things that I love about this show. Is that no one else cares that they are together, they're even happy for them. They are affectionate with each other, they kiss, they hug, nothing is held back.

Great first episode. ;D I thought the scenes with Agron and Nasir were very well done. I also like that they show affections in front of the others, without anyone hating them for it. And I thought that the bed scene was nice and I like that it wasn't like Gannicus and Saxa's... + Nagron look really great together! Looking forward to a jealous Agron.

OMG! Now that's a love scene... ;D ;D ;D Oh how I love this show. That was hot! Episode 3 was so much better than episode 2! ;D It was very well done. On another note, it seems like Naevia is loosing it... I can understand why and I had actually wondered, why it's only now that we get to see how years of rape are affecting some of these people. Looking forward to the next episode.

Looking forward to the next episode. Perhaps now because she's been able to express her rage, grief, and hatred. While being a slave, she was subjected to horrible treatment, but she knew the punishment if she strayed. Then the horrible minds, than she was sent to the minds for a fresh hell. She was freed from that and learn to fight. So all those years of mistreatment have been boiling away and she finally snapped. And now she has the ability to bring pain against all the ones she sees as the wrong sort.

She could be one of the people to get Crixus, Agron and Gannicus to turn against each other and create a divide in Spartacus' army. Crixus would do anything for Naevia and I don't think he would like to here the truth about Naevia from anyone - not even Spartacus. It'll be interesting to see how many who has to die or be hurt by Naevia for someone to react. I think it might be Gannicus who will be the first to speak up, judging by the latest episode.

I don't get Starz either, but if you go to tumblr the day after the newest episode has aired, you do get to see all the important nagron scenes. ;D And the scene was very beautiful.

Bittersweet - excitedly looking forward to Friday evening and a new episode, but at the same time, the countdown from 10 gets closer and closer to 1.
My guess: DeKnight is going for "redemption" with Nagron. Agron couldn't save his brother, Duro, who died to save him, and he will come full circle, dying to save Nasir. All of Agron's lines/quotes from this season has been blatantly hinting at it.
I am sad but excited to see how it will actually play out. Mentally prepped myself for it.
It is truly refreshing to see the whole production, from the writing team, to the directors and producers, to the actors themselves, just go for it - no big buzz about "how it was to play gay" or "how revolutionary it was deciding to have the "gay" characters play out as they do" and other such tired questions. Gay or straight - equal in gore and smut. It just is. Nothing more, nothing less.
Love it!

It's not talked about, there is no one that judges the relationship between Nasir and Agron. They are seen as a couple period.
