Beautiful episode, it shows that life always has its hurdles, its how you navigate your way through them that counts and in this case it was going to be Christian who had to take the lead.
Even in RL if your partner is suffering from anything serious you want to protect or wrap them up in cotton wool to stop anything touching them again. Its easy to be like Ollie and over-react to anything. Its up to the partner in this case Christian to put positive steps into action to reassure Ollie and himself.
What he said at the end was very honest and sweet, and especially the part about the watch was a nice touch "after him, the watch was the nicest gift".

Thanks Joanna. Frank set the pulse watch to go off at 130, shouldn't it be more at 120? If 130 is literally the drop dead rate, it should be set at just a bit below as a warning. LOL at Olli for setting it at 80. He didn't want to take any chances.

Olli is overbearing and overprotective, Christian is a whiner and Jessica has worn out her welcome and needs to vacate the flatshare ASAP, she was truly unfeeling with Christian wanting money for him using her exercise machine. I agree that the Nordic training guy was actually telling Christian to take good care of Olli after all Olli is one in a million. Lol at Olli calling the ambulance telling them Christian had a heart attach and also wanting Daniel to Keep Christian in the hospital over night can we say dramatic and him wanting Christian to go upstairs cause it's past midnight, Olli's feelings was hurt but it was good to see them in the morning, Olli realizing what a mess he was and Christian making him breaking and telling him that he was his best gift, very nice. Forget to add my sincere thanks to MM and Joanna for all your hard work.

That breakfast table conversation (breakfast table scene -- yay!) is exactly what I have wanted to see ever since hearing Olli blame himself for Christian's boxing -- Christian directly stating that he will take responsibility for himself. Love that he lifted that burden from Olli (let's see if Olli got the message). Christian definitely got Frank's point about taking good care of the "watch". On another note, I have been pretty tolerant of Jessica and even been amused by her, but she truly reverted to form today. Thank you so much MM and Joanna.

Nothing really to add that you guys haven't said, except I loved the breakfast scene. And I'm glad Christian got what Frank was trying to tell him.
Thank you MM and Joanna.

I thought today was the perfect balance. Olli was overprotective and Christian was whiny, and they both realized what they were doing wrong. And now they aren't going to let those things get in the way (hopefully) Ok total weird moment seeing that guy smoking during a Nordic walking scene (it's odd for me to see smoking on tv unless it adds to the story) RED SHOES DAY TWO Wow at the selfishness of Jessica and it wasn't even funny. no one else eats breakfast? so weird just pretending that all of those people are always busy doing something else.

Oh and I forgot to add Jessica is a selfish bitch. Wonder what Olli would have said to his bff if he saw the way she treated Christian. just needs to be kicked out of the flatshare asap!!!

Nice episode but a bit disappointed with the Christian/Jessica scene. In the preview I thought she must have done something more serious for Christians remark about her "dark depths" and she was about to be booted out of the flatshare. No such luck! Seeing it gets dark around 5.00pm the nordic walk must have started at say 2.00pm? As it was after midnight when they arrived at NL what the hell was Christian doing with Frank for nearly 10 hours? No wonder Olli was somewhat concerned. ;D

this one-episode story arc was quite decent , compared to what we got back in the Lily days and in the breakfast scene, was Olli wearing Christian's blue t-shirt? probably not, cuz it would hang loose on him

After Olli got Christian a specialized watch with his voice recorded in it to boot, Christian did not want to wear it, I mean who would not want to wear such a watch, lol. Did Christian had to ask Frank if he should go apologized to Olli, common sense should have told him he should have after he noticed Olli's feelings were hurt but it was good to see they talked about it the next morning over breakfast and they did look especially glowing in that scene.
Olli realized he was being over the top and Christian understands he has to take charge of his life and stop his whining, they are taking it one day at a time and that is a good thing.
Remember when Olli said if it was a man Christian cheated with it would not be that bad, all lies, no matter who it was Olli would have been devastated, just look at him when he saw Christian walked into the bar with a man he has never seen before, his entire demeanor changed.

I may be in the minority here but I didn't think Olli looked jealous at all. I feel like he handled it well, Christian walking in with a man. I felt like he was upset because he worried about Christian's health and him not going to bed.

I thought the same thing, I didn't think Olli looked jealous at all. Maybe he was curious who the guy Christian came in with was, but I think that was about it. I just thought he was worried about Christian's health and him staying up too late and overdoing it. And I think he got his feelings hurt when Christian didn't want to wear the watch, and because he snapped at him a bit about staying up late. Loved the talk at the breakfast table, like everyone else. They both were positively glowing. It's nice to see them talk about these things as they arise instead of keeping their mouths shut and letting them fester and turn into bigger problems. That was their main issue all along, lack of communication, and it seems like maybe they've learned a little something and are doing their best to communicate and tell one another what they're thinking and feeling to prevent things from escalating as they have in the past, and from coming between them. Maybe they haven't talked all that much about the past and what's happened between them, but they are trying to change their behaviors and the way they deal with one another and their problems, which to me shows they are aware of the problems and the true root of them and are trying to avoid repeating history. Christian came up with yet another one of his short, simple, yet sweet lines to Olli with the, "It's the best gift...after you." Olli looked so happy when he said that. On a shallow note, Christian looked stunning today. Thank you for the video, May, and the caps, Joanna!

Oh, one more thing...Jessica is a bitch. I wish Olli would've seen the way his "friend" treated Christian, coldly taking away the step machine from a guy trying to recover from a heart attack because he wouldn't pay her to use it. She needs to go ASAP.

No wonder he didn't want to go back. And yes it must have been late when they finished their walk or maybe he and Frank were talking more before they headed to NL.

Then Christian goes walking and then gets to NL at midnight? THEN he gets attacked and sent to the hospital. I'm surprised he had any energy at all to make breakfast.

I absolutely LOVED the ending with the breakfast scene. That was just beautifully shot and Christian's words he said to Olli, "It was the best gift...After YOU!" was just sweet, just like Christian.

I think Frank made the most poetic points in the episode, at the nordic walking group he said he got shot and the other guys conditions. Which in essence gave Christian broader perspective on his own condition.
He also said that same time he lost his wife, which highlights the importance to Christian that he has a second chance to sort things out that Frank doesnt have, appreciate it.
Then later when Christian was frustrated with the heart rate monitor at 80, Frank not only adjusted that for him to 130 but also pointed out to get Christian to realise he really needs to apologise to Ollie.
Sometimes our loved ones loving us and being there is just too much, its great they are there, but it doesnt give us perspective, sometimes a stranger or an outsider can say the exact same thing and then it hits home......
Well done frank.....
The next morning Christian was just so touching and beautiful with ollie, I didnt like the word 'date' but hey thats just a word, it was still touching.....

Christian truly has the best one-liners.
Don't all pound on me at once, but maybe another way to look at Jessica's actions is that she was looking out for Christian in a typically Jessica way. Christian wanted to turn the exercise machine up to get a harder work-out and by Jessica taking it away he couldn't overwork himself.

She could have just refused to turn it up and blame it on Olli or stayed there and watched him.
