OK.. so I just found out about this series. It seems like I'm late to the party, because they have already started season 2. I have no idea what it's about, but they are not afraid of showing sex, so I guess it's supposed to be racy (straight & gay). I don't know if it's just a web series or if it's a tv series.. it seems kinda racy for Mexican tv.. but anyway, there's a gay couple in it, and they are amazing, they are PERFECT together! I have only seen until episode 8 in the first season, but this cannot end well, considering Adrian is married (to a woman). I have a feeling they won't have a happy ending, and Julian will end up having his heart broken, just so you're warned. But even if they don't.. I still think it's worth to check it out. They are perfect together, as long as it lasts anyway. I already love this couple.. Julian & Adrian are both so cute and sexy, and they are just amazing together. Wow.. their make out sessions are kind of hot too ;D I'd also be very grateful if some kind soul who knows Spanish would be willing to translate. I think this account is uploading the storyline, starting from before Adrian and Julian met, so you get Adrian's backstory too: www.youtube.com/user/GalataGayThe guy behind the account hasn't uploaded much yet though, it seems like he's just starting uploading it, but here is the beginning of Adrian's story (I'm guessing Julian shows up soon): But this might be worth checking out, if you can't wait, and is impatient just like me.. these are the best parts of their relationship (so far as I have seen anyway, like I said, I have only seen up to episode 8): Episode 7 (best parts from 11:28 to 13:07, 33:32 to 34:35, 47:22 to 49:14) Episode 8 (best part from 01:34 to 03:48)

Yey! Someone noticed this series. This is a TV series produced by the IPN channel (public television). It's currently on hiatus before the third season. The premise of the series is something like "what does it mean to be a man in today's world?" They use five/six(?) male characters who work at the fictional XY magazine (think GQ or Esquire) -each with a different background and outlook on life- to portray the fast-changing definition of masculinity in contemporary Mexico. Adrian is in charge of the technology/gadget section of the magazine (he's one of the main characters). Julian is a graphic designer (recurring character). At the beginning (of their relationship) Julian is the pursuer and due to his advances, Adrian discovers/admits to himself that he's attracted to men. @overtherainbow: Yes, the general tone of the series is racier than most of what you see on regular mexican tv. The quality (writing, filming, directing, acting) is way better than telenovelas. One of the things I liked in the first season is the use of language. It felt natural: the way that young adults talk nowadays -which unfortunately they had to tone down for the second series (that and the "explicitness" of some scenes). OnceTV usually upload the entire episodes in their youtube while the season airs with a delay of 1 day to 3 weeks. The entire second season is still available at www.youtube.com/user/CanalOnceIPN under Playlists XY temporada 2. The first season is out on DVD in Mexico, but I don't know if it's sold outside my country.

Much appreciated That sucks, that they had to tone down the language and sex before the second season.. I can't wait to see more of it, but I am realistic at the same time.. it's not like I expect them to have a happy ending.. and especially not now considering Julian is only recurring and probably gone soon anyway, but I mean.. it was obvious they could never get a happy ending from the get go, considering Adrian is married.. but anyways, who cares right? I'll just enjoy them as long as it lasts! And who knows.. maybe Adrian will finally come out of the closet and get a real bf in future episodes? One can only hope! I just have a couple of questions.. why did they have to tone down the language and sex? was it because of complaints? I know Mexico is very conservative.. I had never heard of a gay kiss on Mexican tv before either, so I kinda just assumed that this was a web series, because of the nature in it.. but I'm glad to hear it's not! I'm happy to see a realistic portrayal of finding oneself and what it means to be gay.. not some stereotypical character people use as a joke to create laughs. We have made progress! Anyway, back to my question.. I guess I just want to know why they toned it down.. was it because of the content and because they got complaints? Couldn't they just have moved it to a different time.. later, and kept it the way it is? Also.. do you think it affected the show, by toning it down.. is the second season not as good as the first? One last question.. would you be willing, or know of anyone else, who's willing to translate at least some of the clips? Like I said... I love them together, and I would really like to know what they say! I know a tiny bit of Spanish, so I pick up a few words here and there, but it's not exactly enough to make sense of it all. I still think they are one of the cutest gay couples I have ever seen though.. they are so perfect for each other! I am just sad they won't have a happy ending. Then again.. the timing is all wrong. Julian was amazing, to make Adrian realize that he likes guys, but Adrian is also in an impossible position, since he's married. It was doomed to fail from the start. As I said.. the timing is all wrong. Had this happened after he realized he was gay, and after he had gotten a divorce, then yeah.. maybe things would have had a different outcome.. sigh. But well, like I said.. I was realistic from the start, I never expected a happy outcome for them with things being the way they are. So I'm not upset or anything, but yeah.. it still kinda sucks. But also like I said.. I will still enjoy them together as long as they last, because they are adorable together!

Thanks overtherainbow for pointing out this show. I saw a few clips and I've been positively impressed. The chemistry between the actors is great and their sex scenes are very hot.

No problem I love them too! And I agree, they have amazing chemistry.. which clearly shows in their sex scenes I am glad that it seems like someone is finally uploading this storyline. However, I do wish someone could maybe translate it. I understand a tiny bit of Spanish, but not a lot.. not enough to know what's going on anyway.. Anyone volunteering to translate it?

I'm watching season 2, and I have to admit.. spoiler, highlight to read: it's not as good as the first season. Also.. what have they done to Adrian? he's so unlikeable all of a sudden. He's being such a jerk and his behavior is just awful. He refuses to admit he's gay and that affects his relationship with Julian. It's all so sad, but I have to admit.. it is realistic. And this is why gay men should NEVER fall for closeted married men. They are a mess, and it will never end well.I have seen the entire season 2 now.. highlight to read: I knew Julian and Adrian would break up.. I just knew it. I hope Julian can come back, because I truly do believe that Adrian loves him, but I'm not betting on it.. I know Julian is just a recurring character, and I know Adrian pretty much layed down the line and told him that they couldn't be together anymore (I'm guessing because of his son and other things?). It was nice seeing him make a pass at another guy though. It is OBVIOUS he's at least bisexual, even most probably gay. He just needs to get over himself, stop living in denial, and start to accept himself. Enough about manic showers trying to wash away the sin!Anyway.. VERY good series, and Adrian is an extremely realistic character. More, highlight to read: Yes, he is kinda unlikeable in season 2, but it fits. Adrian is in a difficult situation both considering the divorce and custody of his son, and in all of this he's still trying to accept himself. Overall, a very nice tv series. Is this the first time we see a realistic portrayal of a gay man on Mexican tv? I can't remember any other times. And lest time I watched a Mexican tv series the gays were stereotypical and they even cut away the kiss! So wow.. all I can saw is MAJOR PROGRESS! I am proud of Mexico for finally doing a realistic portrayal of gay men on tv! WAY TO GO! And btw.. yeah, I noticed that the sex and language is toned down in season 2.. season 2 is more dramatic, not so explicit. Then again.. in season 1 they kinda just were racy just to be racy. It was sooo over the top! I think they could have found a balance between the racyness of season 1 and the toned down version of it in season 2. I just have one question for our spanish speakers out there (highlight to read): his f*g hag.. she kissed him, but what did he say? does he like her? will he turn "straight" now all of a sudden? is he gay or straight? I REALLY hope the writers won't make him straight, but I have a feeling they will. I'm just always pessimistic I guess. I just have a bad feeling that the writers will mess this up.

Are you sure you watched the whole series? because in the last episode (spoiler) Adrian goes to Laura his wife and tell her that he's a good father and it's not fair to make him choose between Julian and his son and he'll see her in court. Then he goes to Julian and kiss him

Are you sure you watched the whole series? because in the last episode (spoiler) Adrian goes to Laura his wife and tell her that he's a good father and it's not fair to make him choose between Julian and his son and he'll see her in court. Then he goes to Julian and kiss himOMG.. I am not sure actually... I watched episode 12, but I just ff the episodes, because I didn't want to watch the rest of the series, the only thing I care about is the gay storyline.. so I might have ff past it. But thanks for that update. Wow, that is good indeed! Highlight to read: I truly think Adrian loves Julian, but it's so complicated and Adrian is still messed up. He slept with that guy, but I don't know if he had broken up with Julian by then or not, so maybe he wasn't technically cheating, but then there's that kiss with his hag, but she kissed him.. so I don't know if that means anything either. I guess this whole thing makes me confused, since I don't understand the language. Also.. I am happy that they still are allowed to kiss even in the toned down version. Gays on the Australian soap Neighbours have a kissing ban, so in a way Mexico is more progressive than Australia! Hell.. Mexico has gay marriage now (well, de facto.. Mexico City has gay marriage, but it's recognized in all of Mexico). So to sum it up: this series is very well written. It is realistic, and not to mention progressive when it comes to showing gay men. The only thing that bugs me is that maybe they toned it down a bit too much in the second season, I hoped they could find a balance between season 1 and 2.. but yeah, it's not too bad, at least they still kiss and hug and stuff I love Adrian and Julian too. I don't ever want them to break up. I think they both love each other, but I understand that it's complicated. I also wish someone could upload the whole storyline with subtitles.. that would be AMAZING! I'm sure people would fall in love with this couple, just like I have, and it's time to show that gays are treated in a positive light on Mexican tv. ETA: you were right about that last scene. That's what happens when you ff it. I missed one of their sex scenes in season 1 too, because I ff it... lol But anyway.. thanks for the update! I have a couple of more questions that I hope someone can help me with: are the actors both confirmed back for season 3.. will their storyline continue next season? Also.. I heard they are only making 7 episodes of season 3.. is this true? and I heard some rumors that they are going to censor Adrian and Julian's storyline.. they won't do that, will they?

I was coming in here to ask was this translated in english somewhere, but after reading all the replies I guess not. No.. unfortunately not But I am working on it! I will try my hardest for this storyline to get subtitled because it's just really good imo. I understand a tiny bit of Spanish, so I get the gist of what's going on, but not nearly enough to make subtitles, sorry. But I do get what's going on most of the time, and this storyline is sooo good. They writers have done almost everything perfect so far imo. Just crossing my fingers that they won't mess it up in season 3!

Oh, this show seems really interesting. I like the premise of the storyline (the whole storyline, not just the gay one), a magazine is a very interesting work, with a lot of potential. Adrian is very cute (and married with a child), i will try to follow this.
I find a video with Adrian and Julian scenes (but the truth is that i want to watch the full episodes, i think they are uploaded on youtube)

Thanks jjose for taking the time to check out this show. I am glad you like it.. at least what you have seen until now Yes, that is a video of some of their scenes, but not even half of their scenes in season 1 is included. Trust me when I say... they have many more great scenes together not shown in the video GalataGay is uploading all of the Adrian & Julian storyline: www.youtube.com/user/GalataGay#p/uAnd here is part 1 of the storyline (no English subtitles):

The truth is that i like all characters, well almost (i really hate Artemio's father). And they are not shy on the gay scenes, of course they are not as explicit as straight ones (the show is quite explicit in some scenes) but they are affectionate and sexy, and it's very refreshing coming from an latin american show from a country where machismo was (and still is) very significant (i really like this evolution on latin american countries)

I start to watch this show again, to discover i wasn't watching the whole story, well i watched the whole gay story but not everything on the other ones, and i find a youtube channel with the whole episodes, so i think i will watch the parts unseen (apart from Adrian parts, i watched all Artemio and Tony parts). It's a really good show, and i find quite surprised (you don't see that on north american shows) the fact that the two most atractive actors are the ones who play the gay characters.

I have the videos ready for the storyline to be subtitled, at least from season 1, if anyone is willing to step up to the plate It really is a good storyline, well.. from the parts I understood anyway

It seems the show ended in their third season (even being a success of audience and getting awards in tv festivals). The channel said that it was the intention from the begining and the cost of production are too high to continue, but some of the actors don't agree. It seems that the show caused controversy with conservatives (Mexico is well known to have a lot of machismo well ingrained in society), the language, the sex, and of course homosexuality were too much for some people. HBO liked to show, and maybe it will be an adaptation, and there's a project to translate the show into a film

HBO liked to show, and maybe it will be an adaptation, and there's a project to translate the show into a film WOW! This all sounds REALLY GOOD! Thanks for the update Jose! It's such a shame that it ended, though I'm not exactly surprised with the rumors about production costs being too high etc. However, I am just pleased we got 3 seasons. I'd rather watch 3 seasons of a great show than 7 seasons of horrible stupid shows (like those CSI things, going on forever and ever.. ugh). Anyway.. I would love to see it on HBO! I think it would fit perfectly there. I am always wary when it comes to remakes and adaptions, but if it means that I get to see this amazing show all over again, and this time actually understanding what they say and what's going on? Hell yeah! That would be awesome! I just hope they keep all the sex and the gay storyline, with two good looking guys with chemistry, like Adrian and Julian in the Mexican version, then I'm all for it! A movie would be nice too, though I'm not sure that it's the right format for a movie, a movie would be too short, and too much would be packed into 1.5 hours. I think it's better fitted to a tv show, and HBO making it would be the icing on the cake. You know they would keep all the sex and nudity. Anyway.. sad the show is over, but I'm waiting for someone to upload it WITH subtitles, it would be like watching an entirely new show for me.. and actually understanding what's going on this time around And I'm crossing my fingers that HBO will make a pilot and pick it up as a series. This amazing show needs to be seen! Hell.. that scene with Adrian and his wife in season 2 made me tear up. Not many shows can make me tear up, but this did. It was such a powerful scene.. just wow! You know a show is good when scenes make you cry! And I can't wait to (hopefully) see it all over again with English subs and/or as a new series on HBO
