But he was soooo sweet about having to leave. He felt bad. What a super super nice guy!!! Plus the opportunity to play a leading role in a big production would be silly for Nick to turn down. This is going to be very good for his career. And I feel like Scott makes a suitable replacement!

I'm sorry everyone, but I think this is the worst news I've ever heard. This is not what I wanted for the story OR for Jo and Thore. Sick with me, let me explain.
I have always said that Jo and Thore are bigger than Verbotene Liebe. I have always said that have enough talent to rock the English speaking market like nothing else. However, I can't see that happening easily AT all if this new version of C&O does well.
I don't think they'd cast Jo and Thore to remake their roles. Nor would I want Jo and Thore to remake their roles (that's incredibly boring and not at all challenging for an actor.) But if this new show does well the German version will be totally overshadowed. The american/canadian actors will get all the credit and no one will ever hear of how amazing Jo and Thore really are. Apart from VL. I'm deeply, deeply saddened. It's a compliment to the boys that Hollywood thinks they have something special... but they're missing something. It's not the *storyline* that makes it special...it's the actors. These boys can act circles around crap - we know because we've seen it for the last year. These boys put their hearts and souls into their roles...and they deserve to get serious Hollywood creds if they want it.
Off topic...but on topic. I know that I have said that I would never wish them to be recast in an English Speaking version. However, they could do it. Thore's American accent is flawless. Jo's less so, but that's easily explained. (Thore has a little bit of trouble with tenses (so does Andreas) but the pronunciation is spot on.)
Generally, I think it's a lot easier for a native english speaking person to switch accents. (I can do a hell of an Aussie, British and Southern etc.) But it's a lot harder for say a spanish, french or italian speaking person to do an American accent well. The vowels and sounds are just vastly different. I speak French... my accent is good... but no where near native.
However, it's somewhat easier for a German speaker to do the accent (diane kruger) because german and english have many of the same sounds. Germans will need to learn how to lessen their r's, calm the "i" in such words as "nien" and all that... but the flow of the language and tone of the language is the same.
ANYWAY.... I'm very, very saddened by this news. I really hopped that Thore and Jo THEM would get recognized by the English speaking market and move on to greater things... and not just their storyline. (Or whatever will be left of it.)

You could do a live blog from the twitter or a live feed using blogtv.com. Hit me up if you want more info. Hey Guys, Here is the English Translation of Jo's "Du & Ich" Interview. Patricia translated for us. (English Translation by Patricia deGroot) Dear Jo Weil, do you know about your American fans?Although it is unbelievable, yes, my US-fans have supported me for the past two years - so wonderful and loyal! I am very aware of them! And especially for that, I am very - thankful!! Why do you fly for such an meeting to New York?First, it is a wonderful opportunity, to finally say Thank You- in person - to my fans overseas. Secondly, and this point is just as important, the Event will be held for a good cause. With this event we raise donations for "Aidshilfe Köln", for which I am ambassador, and also for "The Trevor Project" from the USA. What do you expect from this?I especially hope that we will collect many donations for both Charities. Furthermore, I very much look forward to giving something back to what has been given to me over the past couple of years. Do you know the colleagues from the other series personally?I know the guys from AWZ (Alles Was Zählt) personally, we meet each other regularly at meetings in Köln. Besides that I llook forward to get to know the other colleagues. And Hal from "Queer as Folk" and me are already Facebook-buddies (laughs). Ok, Questions: We asked about the live feed (thought it was a PERFECT idea) While we can't get permission to put a live feed on their websites (studios), we will do our best to put up "just shot" videos or something similiar. The lovely Lil is working on that. And afterwards, there will be plenty of videos for everyone to see. The map is a great idea. If you can put it together, let me know where it is and I'll put it someplace on the website. Anything else I missed???

I just want to reiterate my own views. Rebecca and Christian are NOT end game. Robert is a guest to the show. He's there to stir up drama. Yay! Drama! If [and it's a VERY BIG IF] Chrolli break up Olli will be left with no one in the end. Christian is his one true person and thus Oliver is Christians. IF [and this is an EVEN BIGGER IF] R&C sleep together Christian will miss Oliver even more (Rebecca will once again be the rebound girl) and Rebecca will finally be ready for David. Then David and Rebecca will match make Christian and Oliver back together. But honestly... I don't even think it's going to go that far. Christian will flip out the second he hears that Oliver kissed someone else. But he won't go running to Rebecca. The ONLY way that would happen is if he knew Rebecca liked him and thus far he's completely 100% oblivious. Could you imagine Christian this bitchy/mopey over Rebecca? Nope. Never. The reason Christian is being a brat right now (currently in the show) is because the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. The second Christian stops caring about Oliver is when we have problems... BUT GUYS! THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. Only Oliver can bring out that truly glowing grin. Even when Christian was just about to pore fake urine himself...for becki, that smile (more of a laugh really) doesn't shine quite like the smiles he has towards Oliver - even when he's mad with Oliver. As much as I disagree with a lot of the writer's and their choices/miss opportunites/taking tooo damn long.... etc They're not 100% stupid and believe me - they see the chemistry that Jo and Thore have together and they're going to mess with it and work with it. Angry Christian is HOT. Angry Olli is HOT. Pouty C&O = HOT (and cute) Sad = cute/hot... And they can act the shit out of this. THANK THE STARS! DRAMA I'm a writer. And believe me when I say... the only way C and O are not end game is if Jo or Thore (or both) were leaving the show... and as of right now... neither one is. SO DON'T FREAK OUT I'll be okay!! I PROMISE! Edit: kes I too think there's a strong possibility that Chirstian could end up a Lahnstein however...that'd leave Tristin open for Helena and I'm not sure I find that convincing or think that's where they're taking it. They brought back Andi. But it's a good and plausible theory.

Okay.... I REALLY DON'T THINK THIS IS A BIG DEAL!!!
This could easily be one of those like... the time Olli kissed Coco at the club kisses. "I'm having such a good time my lips ran into yours" types.
Only maybe this time Robert Kisses Oliver.
MAYBE!!! ROBERT IS SETTING HIM UP TO BLACKMAIL HIM! (Do what I say or I'll tell Christian!)
I really don't think Christian is going to jump into bed with Rebecca... and the foundation is already laid for D&R.
Really... seriously... it'll be okay guys!!! *scouts honor!*
Edit: I mean look at our recent episodes. Christian doesn't trust "Rob" and Christian is pouty and sad and needs a can opener because he loves Olli so much!
And yes, he's kinda being a bitch to Olli right now... but Olli is kinda being a selfish prick. Olli needs to learn to take no for an answer. Christian could have said it a bit nicer... but Christian could have said it with kittens and bows and Oliver would have still thrown a hissy fit.
Christian does love him though... even when he's a drama queen. Cuz he is and he's being one.
BUT IT'LL BE OKAY!!!!!

wow, even though i banged on endlessly about how external factors must have contributed to the final end product - that hay stack scene huh?!? i'm confused, why can't we have conversations about when we think the actors do a less than stellar performance?! we say it about rebecca enough. thore may be a straight man, and that may have been dissected to death BUT he is playing a *GAY* man and yesterday he wasn't convincing. sorry, i didn't want to say it so bluntly but i'm annoyed cos i feel like i'm indirectly being censored. and i know riboflavin2 that you didn't say what you did of your own volition but were spotlighted into giving your opinion but still.. it came off as a little (i'm just gonna say it, i looked for a milder word, sorry) but, it came off as rude. if you can't ever talk about the worse times, than how the eff are you ever meant to appreciate the brilliant scenes, like ktichen dancing yesterday or vlog today?!!? also you aren't obligated to read every single post on here. and this place can be so strenuously rule abiding it makes natural flowing conversation hard and expressing concerns with the show a minefield. and apologies about flippa flippityflipflop and anyone else i may have inadvertently offended. my brain is evidently too small to contain so much information You didn't find him convincing. Okay. That's fair! But what I am sick to death hearing is "because he's straight." I equally don't like "he's doing such a great job...for a straight guy." It's condescending to Thore. It's like saying "NPH does such a great job in HIMYM...for a gay guy" Can't way just say, "I didn't feel this scene" for the scene? I get you didn't feel it and I RESPECT that! I just don't like that it's about the actor personally. Talk about his talent all you want. I'm there with you... because sometimes, yes Thore didn't act a scene the way I would have wanted (for whatever reason) like I didn't particularly like him in the post Lydia wedding with the tissue box. Over done. But that wasn't about him being gay or straight... it was "that scene wasn't in his range as an actor" And maybe this hay scene wasn't in his range either but I don't think that's because the man is straight. Sorry if it came off rude. It's not meant to. And I'm not putting a black bar over your words. I'm just saying I'm tired... of the "he's straight" comments. Would you like it if someone said that about you.... "he's okay...for a gay guy?" I'd like to think we're at the point where it doesn't matter one way or the other. I get WHY we're not there... because it's hard to draw lines where an actor ends and his character starts.

Kes! I can't speak for Flippa but her reasons are for not posting she just can't right now. She's got life things. Good things... but life things. She too loves the community but doesn't have the time to give it. Maybe she'll come back if we clap. She does read/lurk no and then. On the "gay people post here" .... my question is so? Is it fair to go seeking "fear" in a straight actor's commitment to his role? I don't think so. I'm not saying that's happening... I just can't believe we're analyzing Thore this much...for like the 37,000 time. It's getting old to me. We don't chastise Jo in that way... and there's LOTS of times I don't agree with how some of his scenes get played. (love the man tho...I'd just have directed 'em differently.) I honestly think... and this is off topic in a lot of ways, we don't chastise Jo because there's still the ambiguity of his personal sexuality. I'm not opening up the is he/ isn't he quest. But because people don't know... they can see him as what they want him to be and so they don't go looking for when he might not come off as genuine. And I don't think that's fair. How do I feel about the stoyline/writing? It's good. It's true to character (I think) and it's fun to watch. Olli is too trusting. Christian sees through everyone. Hell GREGOR saw it. And hell if Gregor pays attention to anything. I like Max... I like the dynamic. Over all, I'm really enjoying the show right now. But, if you want to DM me (so we can get back on topic) go for it. I have a few more things I can/would say in private. Other's (going back) Have said Flippa. (Flippa is a girl.) You're getting it third hand because shes not an active poster anymore. Sorry if it seemed abrasive. She sent me an email and I made the reply. Since I'm not Flippa, I just gave a general highlights that their opinions (wrong or right) are not the same. There's no meaning behind it than that. Anyone is entitled to speak what he/she thinks. My post was only meant to bring attention to the fact that there are two people with similar names, one of whom is unable to make the post herself and asked me to do it for her. I didn't go into detail of my own thoughts because most of it's been covered. I don't see any indication that Thore isn't comfortable in his role and that scene didn't bother me in the slightest. I'm trying to think how to word this next part... That scene was filmed outdoors in November. Both actors were [probably] freezing and just wanted to get the scene done...since they're not exactly dressed warm! Finally, Thore pulling his head away.... it's a bad camera angle but I believe he did so to make room for Jo's head on his shoulder. Since I have the spotlight... I'll say this... I cannot believe that we still have discussions like this. Why must there be such nitpicking of scenes? Yes. The man is straight...OMG straight. So what? 2 years later... who gives a crap if he is or isn't comfortable. If he wasn't... he wouldn't be doing it. I get that sometimes a scene doesn't play the way the person watching it imagines or would like it to. But I want to stress that there are ENORMOUS other factors that go into the final product of a scene, camera angle, how it gets edited, the location, the warmth of the set/location, stressed about something going on at home, director's choices, and so on... Whether or not someone takes issue with one of Thore's acting choices... I personally think on a WHOLE he's amazing at what he does. Regarding the smooch on David's cheek... he played it with gusto to be funny and his whole mood that scene was over the top in love. Riboflavinb2: You are a class act! Thanks for your kind and thoughtful response. Actually, I know Flippa is a woman, but didn't know if it was right to say so. I actually miss her posts, too! However, I understand if she doesn't want to post anymore. You are also being a good friend in voicing her concerns. I want to think about what you've said. I think in the end it may be counterproductive to read too much of the actor into the role. However, as gay people post here, and as they have to "live" with alll it is to be gay in this world, people might do so more often -- there's a strange line where acting meets politics, meets, identity meets heart. In any case, I actually do think that Christian is more of a traditionalist. He is being set apart from Rob in an interesting way. I like the writing here. What's your opinion? Finally: My own reaction to your post was a bit peevish. Sorry! I was hurt. I love this community. Thanks for being you.

Will the real Flippa please stand up!!!!
Guys, Flippa has asked me to make sure you understand that Flippityfloppityflip is NOT Flippa.
The Flippa who makes Erwin videos does not agree with Flippityfloppityflip's assessment of Thore or his acting skills or any indications that he's uncomfortable in his role. (And neither do I.)
Thank you.

COME ON GUYS! REALLY!!
No one called Olli a dumb bitch when he tried to kiss Christian in his sleep...nor did we call Christian a dumb bitch or crazy or pathetic when he tried to kiss Oliver in his sleep.
He trying to kiss him doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't make her any more crazy than a girl in love/lust. I mean Oliver knew Christian was straight and in a relationship... and he pretty much made out with everyone. Did we get down on him for that?
What bothers me is the recycled story lines. Been there, done that.
She's just a girl with a crush. Also, the spoilers (from what I can tell) don't say anything about Christian asking her to help...maybe she shows up and offers to help.
PLUS! David will confess his love to her. Now R has to really deal... and Christian isn't going to confess his love for her when he finds out R likes him... he'll be on David's side... wait! He already is!
Can we stop bashing Rebeca and see how this plays out.
Thanks.

Darlin' I think the word you're trying to find is charismatic with a dash of fake. It's also kinda what I was trying to say! Thore is pretty much on display anytime the man steps out in public. It's what happens when you're in the public eye and I'd wager he's a bit more aware of it now than he used to be. As an actor he absolutely has control of how he wants you to see/feel after you leave. Even at the bar he's on public display. But who among us isn't when we're at the bar? or a job interview, or a first date? I hate, hate, hate acting but I'm trained in it. I know how to work angles, work facial expressions, and work my movements to the best of my abilities. And there are lots of times I'll use that. (I'm really short) I stand taller, I hold my head higher, I smile more. etc. There are lots of people who "work a room" naturally. They're the kind of guys that could sell you sand if you're lost in a desert. The point I was trying to make was that Thore at the bar and Thore having dinner with his family are probably not the same Thore. There's definitely qualities that they share... but how genuine they are will be completely different. He's always struck me as approachable, as a good buddy. It's nice to learn I was more or less right. Most people in his career and at his level of success are not. (And I've met a lot of them.) Thanks for sharing, Katharina!!!!!! So.... with the help of lovely Sonnenschein - thank you!!! I will try to explain as best as I can. To illustrate what I mean, I will add an example. I hope, you can see, where I am coming from. I've met Thore at 4 fan events (that's where I took the pictures). As I am living not too far away from Cologne, I ran into him a couple of times as well (parties, bars...). In total we are talking about 11 meetings. I think, he is super nice, totally down-to-earth and really funny. He has a great sense of humor. I am just left with a bit of a stale feeling after I talked to him. I always get the feeling that he knows just what to say, how to look, talk and gesture. He knows how it's perceived. To me that just feels a bit not real, yunno?!? It's really hard to explain, thus I'll give you an example: If you (the reader) and me were talking just now, I would use facial expression as a reaction to what you are saying. I would be doing that completely subconciously/automatic/unconciously. With Thore, I always got the impression, that he uses his facial expression to show me what he thinks I expect as a reaction. Am I getting my point across? Don't get me wrong, I don't take offence or anything. He IS an actor and he definitely should KNOW these things! But I just can't help it, it feels like he lost some of his instinctivness along the way. He isn't as inartificial as he used to be (in the beginning of his career). But again, of course, these are only my thoughts! Based upon several meetings with him. But nevertheless I do like him and am somewhat fascinated by him ;D

Full discloser: I've never met Thore But to me, he just seems like a guy livin' it up. He also strikes me as someone with confidence and someone who doesn't take himself too seriously. I have known my fair share of diva men. I've known my fair share of men who know how good looking they are...and I can smell these douches a mile away. Men who are divas and men who know how good looking they are have one thing in common - arrogance - and it's not something I can see in Thore. People's first impression of me is usually "b!tch." I'm told that I'm pretty, (and I do think I'm slightly above average... I'm not weird or deformed looking...). I've been told by lots of guys that I'm... "too know-it-all" But actually, I'm not a b!tch and actually there are definitely things I hate about my looks and actually, I do kinda think I know it all, but I'll be the first person to admit I'm wrong. It's easy to make assumptions about people based on what you see, what you hear about them, and even meeting them once or twice... but I think most of the time those are only a fraction of the true person. I'm willing to bet that the public Thore and the private Thore have a lot of differences. I can't honestly believe he's that one-dimensional. Just like I'm perfectly fine meeting new people and speaking in front of a crowd. I appear very out going in public... but actually I prefer to be alone. Just keep in mind that when you read about Thore (or anyone in the public eye) that what they're presenting to you is only one piece of themselves. People are complex. You´re welcome! Yes he´s really handsome. But he knows it and I think thats not good for his personality. I'm confused. You say you've met him and he was nice to you but you also say the above. How do you know? Did he act Divaish with you?

If you right click the graphic there should be an option to "copy link image" or "go to link image" and that should give you the URL. Lee-- don't forget your Hansel & Gretel outfit! Remember, March is going to be German Month in NYC. I want to use that Jo & Thore graphic as my Avatar. How do I do that? It says you need a URL?

@ scarpien. Glad I had you laughing! I can answer a few of your questions. Weather in NYC around that time will most likely be cold. I'd be shocked if it were above 55F. I'd say pack layers and check the weather reports before you go. As far as dress code: I've been told it's a come as you are kinda thing. Be yourself. Dress up if you want to or Dress comfortable. I wouldn't wear mustard stained sweat pants or T-Shirts with cut off sleeves--unless you're using the work out room. I'd say business casual, jeans, trendy clothes will be fine. A sample of my outfit plan is this (And I have to think this far ahead to see if I can get it all in one bag.) Thursday (I'm going early) Jeans and a sweater with Ugg boots. 1 Workout outfit (yoga pants tank etc) and my running shoes. 1 Pair of Ruby Slipper Stilettos (They're classy I swear!) 1 pair of black flip flops 1 pair of black high heals 1 Pair of Skinny Jeans 1 sequin tank top (black) 1 shirt I like to call "my pirate shirt" and a vest 1 black skirt .... you can see where this is going right. OH!!! AND A SCARF. I'm thinking a really ugly scarf. LumberJack Plaid maybe! You know. BECAUSE IT'D BE FUNNY! I can tell you that both of those things are in the works. SOW will also be covering the event. But here's how we can help!! Spread the word. Tell your friends. If you participate in other gay message boards or other soap boards introduce people to these great shows and tell them about the event. COMMENT on Youtube. Twitter. Facebook. Pass around Visitor9627's videos, etc. Steal Patricia's graphics or make your own. Stick them in your signatures and avatars and wear them with pride. (I should get on that myself) I know there has been a spike in ticket sales... But I truly believe that the more people the better. It's going to be a RIOT. If you're not subscribed to the newsletter...get on it. Some pretty fun details should be coming out soon. Is it sad that I already have my outfits picked out? Maybe so! But I want to look just so fab when I meet Zam, Shirley, Jo Thore, and everyone else. Who's everyone rooming with? What outfit do you want to be photographed standing next to thore and jo in? Me? Skinny jeans and my ruby slipper stalettos. (They're classy I swear!!) Eeeeek! I just got excited thinking about dancing in them all night. Riboflavinb you had me cracking up that you've already picked out your wardrobe. Speaking of which, it would be nice if someone could post what would be appropriate attire for each event. I don't wanna come in bell-bottom jeans only to find everyone in a tux, if you know what I mean!! Not that I'd ever be caught dead in bell bottoms. BTW, what will the weather be like around that time in NYC? That's another factor to consider.

Have you guys sent press releases to the soap mags? We need to get the word out to as wide an audience as possible about this fantastic event. Also, you should ask Afterelton.com to do an article on this. I know it was in Anthony's Gays of Our Lives column but they should do something splashier.
