People keep talking about the whole truth and Adrienne jumping the gun before knowing all the facts; the problem with that is it would give her an actual reason to not want Sonny with Will. Right now all the video does is make Sami look guilty. But Adrienne knowing the truth behind it looks much worse. Bernardi is a dirty cop working for Stefano, who got evidence that Will shot Ej, and that's why Sami attacked him. Adrienne would have a field day with this:
1)Will is guilty of attempted murder 2)Stefano is out for revenge on Ej and has proof of Will's guilt 3)Sonny knows this and is covering both crimes up 4)And even knowing that doesn't prove that Sami didn't murder Benardi.
Right now Adrienne has this irrational hatred towards Sami and wanting Sonny away from that family. If She knew the whole truth, Will would be sitting in the cell right next to Sami. If anything knowing the whole truth gives Sami more motive to want Bernardi dead. And does anyone believe that Adrienne would be okay with her son dating an attempted murderer. The whole truth would cause tons more problems and Adrienne a real reason to be against them being together.

What's starting to make me once again question Sonny's existence after Will is that they can show Will without Sonny but not the other way around. I don't care that Will is on and Sonny isn't. However, the fact they can't show Sonny in episodes without Will being on tells me there isn't much interest in Sonny. We'll see what is coming up. But there is Will getting involved with EJ next week. Best case scenario Sonny is involved also but sounds to me like Sonny is just off screen when he should be shown mixing it up with others like Brent working on the coffee house. I just don't get why the show can't see that Sonny is a character fans are just as interested seeing on his own as many others. I thought it was getting better but I'm not sure sure again. Sounds like it's headed right back to where it was with a slight reprieve that happened. I think the reason Will is shown without Sonny has more to do with the actors contracts than anything else. Soap contracts are written with guaranteed # of episodes, and I am pretty sure Chandler has more episodes than Freddie does. If the actor goes over those guaranteed days they get paid extra and that is one way they try and keep budgets down in soaps is by not going over contract. So while it might not seem fair that Will is on more than Sonny (and that certain characters like Sami and EJ are on 4 to 5 times a week), that probably has more to do with the business side than the writing side. Now that being said, I still only see Sonny as an extension of Will. Even Sonny redesigning his business is about Will feeling left out more than anything else. Everything Sonny does is in service to Will. But it is too early to say how they will write for the couple in the future. Days shoots 4 months in advanced so these scenes were probably shot in March or April, and probably storyboarded and written as early as February. We probably won't see how Chandler leaving will affect the writing until at least Sep/Oct. So I think its a bit premature to worry that the writing now is any indication of where the character of Sonny will go without Will. But for now, Sonny is basically a perfect character. In fact the show has made at least 3 jokes since the baby has been born about how perfect Sonny is. He is not allowed to have any doubts and we get no introspection on how his character feels about the whole situation other than that he loves Will. We even have him disowning his mother for actually doing the legal and moral thing to do. It is not Adrienne's fault Sami lied to the police about knowing Bernardi. Even if there was no animosity between Adrienne and Sami she would still be obligated to turn in the video tape. But my biggest problem is that the "villains" of the story aren't allowed to bring up good, thought provoking points that could lead to doubts in Sonny's mind. Instead of a friend showing concern and trying to understand why Sonny's life is completely different now. "How he feels about basically being a step-parent?""How did you get over Will lying to you about being a father?"or even a joke like "I thought one of the advantages to being gay was you didn't have to worry about unplanned pregnancy?" Instead we got an overly pushy invite to a rave and fodder for Will to get jealous over. But Adrienne is even worse. Instead of a concerned mother she is being a flip flopping mad woman. She is offering babysitting service one episode, and trying to break them up the next. For someone so worried about her son being heart broken, she never brings up the the giant pink elephant in the room. Will and Sonny have broken up 2 or 3 times in the past year of there relationship, how is he going to deal if they break up again after getting attached to Ari. No instead we have here screaming Will is Damien because Sami is the devil (or is Sami Damien since Marlena was actually possessed by the devil). Hopefully though in the coming weeks the story will shift to more focus on there relationship. With Will still pushing Sonny away, thinking he is holding Sonny back, and Sony working on the night club; maybe we will get to see more of their inner workings as a couple. But i will settle for SOnny not being so freaking perfect.

oh yeah, so now Sonny is not only hypocritical jerk who not worthy Will' love but he is a cheater? you don't have to tell when it's clearly so obvious but probably Sonny should to make an official statement to the press This reminds me of Matt Bomer coming out when some people get angry because he never say the i'm gay. And this is starting to look very similar to hollyoaks wich is no good. Brendan can kill half city and everything is Doug's fault, so now Will can do what he wants because Sonny has no even the right to be angry at him Please don't mention Hollyoaks. People had the audacity to say Doug was being abusive and controlling to Ste; yet they wanted him to be with the guy who lied to, beat, and manipulated multiple times. Though I do find it funny how people are blaming Sonny in all of this. Will Kept the fact that he was having a child from the man that he loved for months. Will either didn't love or trust Sonny enough with this truth, and yet Sonny is supposed to forgive that instantly. Honestly if Will hit Sonny in the head with a bat, it would probably have hurt less than what Will did. Sonny's entire image of Will is shattered. He has always had a blind spot to Will's flaws, and probably enjoyed being his "white knight." Of course Sonny still loves Will, but his hesitance to even try to get back with him is more than understandable. Now in walks Brian; who is on the surface "perfect". A guy who was pursuing him before he got together with Will and even pushed him to make the effort with Will once he realized it wouldn't happen with Will in the way. Sonny who is now single (which he told multiple people that he and Will were not together anymore) and devastated because of his beloved boyfriend screwed up their relationship; decides he is gonna give Brian a shot. Its amazing how people can have all this sympathy for Will who made decisions and mistakes and had months to reflect and chance after chance to come clean before it blew up in his face. Yet Sonny, the wronged party and free agent, dares to make out with a guy who has been interested in him for months; is not good enough for Will.

I really think they are going to kill off Ste with Brendan's exit. Doug back to take over the deli, Amy coming back to take the kids (and possibly shoot a funeral),and with Brendan and Cheryl now gone; there is no one left for him to really interact with. Ste's character has been so consumed by Brendan Brady that it would only be fitting his exit be tied with him as well.

Maybe it is because i am not as invested into this storyline as others are, but i really don't understand the utter vitriol at these latest spoilers. It took me less than a minute to read the spoilers that cover an entire weeks worth of episodes. There is a lot of things that can play out in the story that aren't in the spoilers.
All the spoilers say is "Will tells the truth, Sonny runs out, They talk the next day." But people are acting like that is all that is going to happen. Fact of the matter is we don't know how much of Will's explanation will Sonny hear before he leaves. We know Sonny shares multiple scenes with Victor after he leaves the wedding. And we don't know exactly how the Will and Sonny conversation will go down. All of this ,to me, gives Sonny ample time to have an appropriate reaction to what has happened.
I understand the negativity and frustrations at the way Sonny has been treated; but it is pointless to complain about things that haven't happened and we have no clue how they are going to turn out.

Why was this not the redemption story for Brendan? In a single freaking episode, they have done more for the character than all the dying children, priests, nuns, pacts with god, and lobotomized Chez ever could have.
I just wish the last 3 months didn't happen. If even one of the things that they had touched on in this last episode would have happened before Ste and Brendan got back together; the farce that was Dublin wouldn't have been nearly as bad.

I also wondered what would happen to Ste's kids when he went to Dublin. But I'm even more worried about them for when they come back to the village with brendans child molesting father in town. Is this going to be another instance of him hiding the truth and try and protect them or is he going to confess to Ste about his past.

I was thinking about something today and I wonder if Gabi is going to have twins. Both Marlena and Sami are twins, as well as Sami having twins herself. Unless they do a surrogacy storyline, it is the only way Will will have biological children; so the writers may give him two for the price of one.

If this was any other show besides Hollyoaks, this story could have been interesting. In the scene in the Deli, Doug's parents repeatedly insulted him with backhanded compliments. His father is proud of him for having a hot girlfriend, and not because he owns a thriving business. No wonder why he told his parents he had a girlfriend, instead of being single. It was probably easier to lie than be berated fro not being good enough. This could have been the start of an emotional neglect story.
Doug is a coward, easily manipulated, constantly seeking approval, and has low self-esteem. With parents like his, all of those traits are easily understandable. And instead of making the storyline focus on those issues and maybe bringing up Ste's own issues with his abusive parents; we are going to get a comedy storyline featuring Leanne and Ste as the mastermind.

Anyone know when is the next episode with Stug? Is it this Friday or next Monday? I always have trouble keeping track of the one-day-early airings and such. They are confirmed for Friday. All the spoilers are for the C4 dates, which airs the day after the E4 first looks. But they may be on tonight's E4 for Riley and Lyndsey's Dinner Party.

Why should Ste pay back the 80,000; considering Brendan stole 200,000 from Warren to pay for his half of the club, yet no one seemed to complain or expect Brendan to pay that back. Fact of the matter is, as much as i love Brendan, he got too cocky and got ripped off. And considering Ste said Leah had cancer to get sympathy money, saying a couple of fake "I Love You's" to free his dream from his abusive ex is completely believable.
I want to know exactly how much "side business" Brendan does. In less than a year, he goes from having to steal the money for his share of the club; to buying a building just to control his ex. I know he told Walker he wanted people to think he was small time, but that is a lot of money he has to be hiding somewhere.
And can I just say the picture of Brendan covering the eyes of the teddy bear, that has become my favorite picture of him. Normally I would be kind of upset about him interrupting Stug happiness, but how can anyone stay mad at someone trying to protect the innocence of a pink teddy.

Doug and Brendan (and Riley) are by far my favorite characters on the show. So when this storyline was first started, I was happy they were going to get to interact and face-off with each other. But this last bunch of spoilers just killed what little excitement I had left after the bad writing.
Unless the article was extremely misleading, Ste actually goes back to Brendan out of love. Him wanting Brendan relinquishing his hold over the deli is not a scam, but so that Brendan won't hold any control over him in their relationship. But then on their first date, Brendan won't let Ste order what he wants and that causes him to question his decision. Are they serious?
Brendan is manipulative, quick-tempered, and borderline psychotic; but one thing he is not is an idiot. He couldn't even last a week to start controlling Ste, and over something as stupid as a fish or steak dinner. When has Brendan ever cared about what others eat; unless he is stealing it for himself. I can understand that they need to show that Brendan really hasn't changed, and not by actually hitting Ste; but it could have been done in so many different ways. Brendan could have lost it with the waiter over the meal. It would have been in character, got the same point across, and made a lot more sense.
Now we are gonna have Doug heartbroken over being rejected and wanting to leave town, but he is going to stay to be Ste's second choice? Why would he want to be with someone who chose his abusive ex over him? I have never been one to "ship" pairings, but this is making me not want to see either coupling. If this is the quality of storytelling this "triangle" is going to get, I would much rather Doug and Brendan just get out before it does any more damage to their characters.

Yes, because in HOL bisexuals don't exist, unless they happen to be Kris aka "dodgy tyranny" or Ravi. OMG...HOL has screwed up on lots of storylines, but they never exclude the GLBT ones from them I completely forgot (or blocked out) Kris and Ravi. I always hated Kris, Ravi was so boring, and throw in Nancy to make a story i cared absolutely nothing about. I love Hollyoaks, and when it is good, it is excellent; but it can be really bad as well. So a lot of times i expect the worse from it. So I won't be disappointed if Doug's sexual past is just brushed away like Ste's; but quite happy if its explored fully.

Hollyoaks has never been the best when it comes to continuity, but Riley and Noah were supposed to be really good friends. It wouldn't make much sense to make him have a problem with Doug just over his sexuality. I think it will either be something will happen that causes the rift (probably something from Texas and Leann which is why they are guilty) or Riley gets upset that he hears about it from someone else, and not from Doug. I'm very curious to know: who here thinks Doug is gay and who thinks he's like Craig and is really just a straight guy experiencing sexual fluidity and love toward Ste and only Ste? I think Doug should be bi. That way it wouldn't have to completely erase the feelings he has had for Bex and Texas; but still have Ste awakening this new side. But this is Hollyoaks so Doug will probably be 100% gay and he just imagined those feelings he had before. It was the most frustrating thing about Ste because we know he had genuine feelings for Amy, but it all got retconed. The same thing would have probably happened to Craig had he stayed around long enough.

The amount of hoops he would have to jump through, and the changes he would have to make to win Ste back; it would fundamentally kill the character of Brendan Brady. Even if you take the domestic violence and problems with being gay out of the equation; he is still a manipulative, controlling, power hungry, emotionally abusive psychopath. And those are some of his most entertaining qualities, but they make a relationship with Ste completely out of the question.
The Stendan relationship was so toxic and one sided in Brendan's favor; he would have to almost become a different person for it to work. He would have to have his anger under complete control, willing to compromise, have things not go his way, and be able to let things go. While those things might make Brendan a better person, he would be a boring character.
While Ste and Doug are as adorable as rainbow colored puppies, Brendan needs a love interest that is more like him. One that is willing to give as good as he gets, and challenges Brendan, instead of being his play thing. I can get entertainment out of dark and complicated relationships, but only when they are equally bad for each other. Ste and Brendan were never equal, Ste was always the victim.

For those of you who are recent converts to the Doug love, I think you will really enjoy this clip www.youtube.com/watch?v=69q-Wde9uMg&feature=relatedCan someone who have watched the show tell what Dougs background is? Like, why is he in Hollyoaks, what previous storylines has he been in, etc? I've always liked the character, but haven't seen him much, I only watch on youtube... Doug really hasn't had many major story lines since coming to the show. The beginning of his character is kind of fuzzy to me, but if i remember correctly he was a part of the group of Freshers that included Texas, Lee, and Jamil. He needed money and started selling drugs for Brendan; but one of the other Freshers had a bad reaction to the drugs (either overdose or jumped of a building; i cant remember, she was an awful character anyways) and he left for a while. He comes back to make amends with everyone, while trying to avoid being pulled back into dirty deals with Brendan (which is what started the fans thinking Doug was gay). After that, he and Jamil spent most of their time vying for Texas attention, who he does end up sleeping with when she was high and drunk one night dealing with India's murder. He shortly there after moves in with Noah and Ethan, and plays sidekick in Ethan's and Riley's stories until Bex comes along. If you have been watching youtube, then you have seen most of his plots with Bex and Lyndsey; all leading up to the Boxing Day episode.

Oh, the cruelty of the soaps! After suffering for months, stoically keeping the faith, and just a few days before his boyfriend wakes from the coma... he really fucks it up Soaps wouldn't be nice enough to give him days. Lucas eyes will open the second Ed's and Ron's lip touch. Kind of like a tragic sleeping beauty.

To those of you who so adamantly claiming that Edwin is cheating or that he is lying when he says he loves Lucas; I hope you never have to go through that situation. My best friend was in a motorcycle accident about 2 years ago. He was in a coma for 5 months. He was dating his girlfriend for about 7 months before the accident. This story is all to familiar to me.
It is soul crushing and terrifying not knowing if this could be the day they wake up or die. She met someone about 3 months into the coma, and she thought she was betraying him for liking someone else. It wasn't that she loved him any less, but that loss of hope and the encouragement of HIS family telling her to not feel guilty made her finally decide to let go. Had anyone called her a cheater to my face or his when he woke up would have gotten punched in the face.
Most people will never know how painful a choice she made was. Who she loved was not in that bed anymore, and knowing that he will probably never return weighed on her greatly. That loss of hope was the end of their relationship and that is where Edwin is right now. Actually he might be further along cause Ron has been there since day 1, Ed just didn't know he was an option.
p.s. My friend is fine, they are married, shes pregnant, I'm godfather, and we take turns strangling him when he says he wants another motorcycle.

not to Edwin, for all he knows it will be never. And still how long would it be before it would be acceptable?

But what would it take for Edwin, to not become a cheater? We may know Lucas wakes up next week but Edwin doesn't. Say if Lucas wouldn't wake up for another 2 years or so. How long is Ed supposed to be standing vigil before it okay for him to move on?

Anton is a doctor, as well as Edwin's father. He has probably seen and studied many cases with coma victims and knows that with each day it is less and less likely Lucas will awaken. Anton would be giving Edwin false hope, and that to me is much worse than stating things clearly and upfront.
If I was in Anton's shoes, I am pretty sure I would do the same thing. My 18/19 year old son who has been only been dating a guy for 5 months goes into a coma. Its now 2 months later and my son was still holding vigil at his bedside, and I know the chances of this guy waking are slim to none; I would be trying to get him to move on as well.
But I cant see Edwin having full on sex with Ron. It would do a complete disservice to the storyline and Edwin's character. This is the guy who wanted to break up with Weit before he went any further after he confessed to Lucas. All the spoilers are vague and I can see him confessing his feelings and kissing Ron, Lucas wakes, decides to hide what happened which is the decision that hurts, but sucks at it and that is suspicious to Lucas, And Nina overhears something and she finds out.
And on the whole cheating thing, exactly how do you break up with someone in a coma? It is not like you can discuss what is happening or how you are feeling so you can work through things. Is it really cheating because what you love about the person is gone with little to no hope of returning? And when is it OK to move on romantically; is there a time limit before you can pursue other people? Six months, a year, or half the amount of time they were dating (which would be 2 weeks away in Edwin's case). To those who think It would be cheating, how long would it take of Lucas being in a coma before you think he should move on?

Mercy is to busy banging Riley's dad to care that he is the oldest teenager in british history. Great way to start a marriage, especially after her husband died 2 months ago.
Doug's accent may not be fake, but the combo of all the british accents and his annoying voice make it sound fake.
I did like the way the introduced that Noah was gay; Doug half naked getting a massage. I do like the dynamic between Noah/Doug/Ethan/Riley so far. I do wonder how old Noah is be cause Riley is supposed to be 17/18 ( he looks 25). Ethan is, i think, supposed to be 28 ( he looks 12!!).

I'm an out and proud gay man but I don't generally swap spit for about 10 minutes straight before a crowd. Not my style... seems tacky to me. There's no proof from the storyline that Lucas kissed the DJ to to make Edwin jealous. Lucas didn't say he kissed the DJ to make Edwin jealous. I'm just pleased it drove Edwin nuts!!! I just think it was Lucas being Lucas... he found the DJ hot and went for it I agree, that kiss was kind of tacky and completely unprofessional. I doubt the DJ thing was to make Edwin jealous (just a nice side effect). Lucas knew the DJ was not going to be a permanent fixture and wanted to have some fun. I liked that he went for it with the guy, but some heavy flirting and some light kissing would have had the same effect. I may be the only one who thinks this, but Lucas really needs to tell Wiet about the kiss and that he thinks Edwin is using her. Him just kind of poking holes in the Edwin/Wiet relationship may screw up the one he has with Wiet. If this girl is buying drugs just so they can get it on, i am a bit scared what she is going to do when the truth comes out. I know Lucas wants to protect Edwins secret and not out him, but at some point he has to consider Wiet as well.

I didn't mean that the story were going to be the same, i just meant that how well the character would be developed. Spike got almost none and was nothing more than just a plot device. Keiron got a somewhat flushed out character, and was more than just JP's boyfriend. Unlike Spike, if Noah and Ste break up (and he doesn't get murdered); he would still have reasons to be in the village.
As for Kieron's story, i never saw it as a coming out story. To me he never had a problem with being gay or really hid it. His main issue was that as a priest, he wasn't allowed to have a relationship with anyone. The story would have played out nearly identical if he was sleeping with Mercedes instead of JP. Had Kieron came into the story as any other profession, he probably would have been an out and proud gay man. I don't know, maybe I am splitting hairs; but it felt more like a secret affair than a coming out story.

I have a little more faith that Noah will not go down the same route as poor Spike did. Even with the little bits of info we have on him so far, he has a better chance than Spike did. First off, he is looking for a roommate and it is going to be an established character (Lee, Doug, etc); and the flat should get a set of its own. Second, he is a fitness instructor and will probably work at Tony's new spa. This job will give him a chance to interact with way more people than Spike ever did. Third, he will be friends with Riley. Poor Spike never got any friends. And lastly, he is supposed to come with a "dark secret" or something like that PM said.
Looking back at that, he would be more like Kieron, instead of Spike. He will be able to stand alone as a character instead of just Ste's love interest. Keiron was able to branch off into story lines not dealing with just JP and his sexuality (which JP never did lol); and i can see Noah doing the same thing. Noah will also be hated just like Kieron, because he will just be a step over to Brendan/Ste couple. I just hope he doesn't share the fate of Kieron; murdered by someone related to your boyfriend.
