Okay, this episode had me laughing to the point of micturition <--- thankfully a good set of detrusors prevented the flooding

I'd love to show how Raquel Welch, the Boy Scouts, Madonna, Peanuts, Flukes and Ace of Cakes fit into BOTINERAS ...unfortunately time is short tonight so I'll defer till later.... better yet can anyone else see the connection(s) and beat me to the explanations!?!....hope springs eternal

For now, I'll leave you to ponder how bad Salgado is at anagrams = type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once

To put things in context, the cops are scrolling through names in an attempt to find aliases that Nino Paredes might have been / is using

Salgado, who's sucking on a cigarette like his life depends on it, rearranges the letters in

to comes up with
P E D R O / I. / S E N N A <--- he's sooooo pleased with his deduction < ---- like that's the only possible name!?!?! <---who says that aliases only come from anagrams?!?!

But, let's play along and say that Nino, throws Salgado a bone and uses an anagram to come up with an alias. Does anyone think that a man with Nino's sense of dry humor and ego would resort to such a boring alias?!?!?

I still don't understand why Monstaza is still alive but Nino is not? I am hanging on to a sliver of hope that there is a big twist, like Nino was in cohoots with Tato to fake his death. If not, the writers made a big mistake in killing off his character.

Hey guys. This is gonna be another weird recap, but this whole Nino thing has me so confused it's hard to watch properly. I keep trying to figure out if he's indeed alive or dead, so I'm not watching the show the same way I used to

A few random comments before our lessons...

I usually watch this show on streaming and there are usually many homophobic comments on the chat box to the side, but tonight it was more than usual. Just needed to share my pain with you guys

Marga and Lily were looking at some pictures from a joint vacation to Ibiza years ago, and Chiqui joins them and they start laughing about them, and Chiqui points out Flaco was wearing tight speedos lol I wish they had shown us that

Now, our lessons:

48. Tato is trying to go back to threatening people into submission himself, now that Nino is not around. Personally, I think he should stick to bribing, cause Nino never warned someone he would kill them - he just went and killed the person So Anguila found out Tato got all the money the club owed the players but only gave them a part of it and Tato told him: "if you tell someone, you're a dead man." Very subtle.

49. Show plays yo-yo with my hopes of shared hotel room. So Lalo is allowed to play again and he's happy as a puppy Flaco sees him and they hug a lot and it's sweet. Then Flaco says "good, I'll see you tonight then" since the players are gonna stay in a hotel to focus on the match (it's called a concentración, no idea how to say that in English). But then he goes on to explain that they're not gonna share a room this time, that they're gonna do it differently and be careful No fun, Flaco. Except you were lying a little

50. Chiqui truly thinks you can't get over killing someone, even if that person was threatening you. That's such a nice contrast to Marga and I truly appreciate the fact you're still tormented on a show in which nobody cares much.

51. Anguila is all excited over his commentator work and keeps filming himself to get better on camera lol. He also films everything around. He's the only one who always brings in funny bits.

52. Longing looks of love and music seem to be a constant for the boys these days. I really doubt anyone in that club could have missed those looks, so let's say everyone knows and is covering them already?

53. To those of you keeping tally, another death was confirmed last night. Gerardo Vacari, long missing rival manager, was killed by someone on Tato's orders and his body was now found. Also found was a picture of Laura with her ex-husband that links Nino to his murder, but that was something us viewers knew and the police, like always, didn't.

Modified: 54. A body was found, in very bad shape and unrecognizable. They did a fingerprint check and the doctor confirms it's Nino's body. Except... it's not! Nino lives! He's better than Jason ;D Later on, we see him (looking great and evil) spying/stalking Marga in a parking lot. I can't tell you how happy I am And angry the channel made me miss the moment I was waiting for Anyway, Tato is seen worried about Nino's body being found out and goes tell Chiqui. Now bets are on: does Tato know? I think so. How did they do it? And about the body, did they pay that doctor off or just replaced Nino's fingertips in the police's file?

55. Now the part that really mattered.
Fixing my earlier crushed hopes, Flaco showed up on Lalo's door (that's my boy, Flaco! Just awesome this week). They didn't share a room, but their roommates left so they were alone anyway. Lalo protested but Flaco reasoned with him that the others were sleeping. Lalo protested again that he would feel bad afterwards and Flaco went the romantic route and said most people never find love and they did and shouldn't throw it away. Lalo says that yeah, they found each other, but then says his career is his only priority (and just now you're losing hope, right?) but that they could just enjoy the moment and then they kiss

So here's the lesson from this very well done scene: two clear positions and one middle ground. Flaco wants Lalo and that's his sole aim now. He doesn't know if he should come out or not, or what to do with his life, so he's focusing on getting Lalo back and using all sorts of means to reach him. I could make a long post just listing all the different strategies he's used this past week Well, all put together, they're working. Lalo is less paranoid and clearly shaken on his earlier decision to stay away from him. Yet his position is still clear: his career comes first and he won't endanger it, not for love or anything. But he wants Flaco and he's not denying it. So they find a middle ground: as long as Lalo feels safe, like in the hotel room, they can be together. If they are able to see each other secretly, he seems to be willing to give it another go, now that he's not that paranoid about being found out as he was before Flaco talked him out if it. It seems that now he sees a secret affair as a possibility again.

What do you guys think?


Tonight's question: Marga keeps getting those calls where no one answers after you pick up. Who is calling her?

Modified: Who else thinks Nino is looking great? Can't wait for Tuesday for doubled reasons.

Later addition: Lately Lalo has been saying a lot that he doesn't want to lose his career and he doesn't want to lose Flaco either. Yesterday Flaco commented he didn't want to lose anything and Lalo pointed out that was exactly what Flaco had done earlier. So the show may be hinting that it's gonna backfire on Lalo the way it did on Flaco? The situations are different though. While Flaco wanted to keep his career, his wife and family, and Lalo; Lalo wants to keep his career and Flaco, which is something that doesn't really involve lying to someone the way Flaco did to Lily and it's something that's undoubtedly done by players in the closet around the world.

Characters like Nino never die on soaps or novelas. I don't
think he's dead. He, or Tato, could be calling Marga.

I wondered about the money since Manuel was always telling
Tato that he had yet to receive money promised.

Flaco and Lalo are the most beautiful couple, inside and out,
when they're together. It's breathtaking to see them in any
scene, talking or not. I love the physical contact between them,
but the longing looks are what really make them THE couple on
soaps or novelas.

54. Show is gonna keep us guessing. So a body was found, in very bad shape and unrecognizable. They say it's Nino's but it's still not certain he's dead.

I said I wasn't going to do this, but since we're all about lessons in this thread...

You can use forensic dentistry (dental records, amalgams, panorex) and xray comparison (locations of healed fractures which leave a callus after healing and presence of implants) to identify severely decomposed bodies

Unless someone pulled all of Nino's teeth after they apparently killed him, or he never went to the dentist (<---his teeth looked to be in good shape so he did to get them cleaned at least and any dentist will get an xray to charge the client more), then you can bet dental records exist for comparison

since dental records exist, all the "geniuses" need to do is take a panorex of the remains they have
unless that's done and there is no discrepancy, then that's NOT NINO under that sheet

Thanks for your words about the homophobic comments. It's happening a lot around me lately, not always in situations where I can respond, so it's been bringing me down

Yeah, the money thing. The club owed money to several players and wasn't going to pay. Tato offered to buy the debt and pay them around 70% out of his pockets, but got the club to pay the entire thing and kept the rest of the money. Only Anguila knows about it.

When I said "they say it's Nino's" I meant they did some sort of test - dental or fingerprints or whatever - and it said it was his, but I couldn't catch this part very well. Still not certain though, and I can't say more here.

Science is a universal language...thus one doesn't need to speak Spanish to understand
Fingers decompose also, so if the face is decomposed and unrecognizable then the finger/prints are useless as a positive ID
Unless whatever they have under that sheet has been cremated (750-1100 degrees Celsius) which would leave only ashes and not the impression of a body (the bone / skeletal evidence which is the most reliable confirmation still exists) then they need to test the bones and unless there is a match then there will not be a reliable positive ID of Nino
PROVISO: you need to have an honest coroner, that's why law enforcement officials rely on more than one method to ID a body and rely increasingly on computerized imaging analysis which is done in an indepedent lab / separate from the city morgue <---criminals would be less likely to tamper with a computer program or pay off an independent lab

IF unadulterated bone records are a match then whatever is under that sheet is Nino and IF subsequently someone decides to show him alive then they're miracle workers writing BOTINERAS because they've raised Lazarus from the dead

IF they can do the impossible then spending all this time showing that Flaco and Lalo are fighting fate or free-will for love / happiness, is not only a fluke (urban meaning = bull manure) it's obsolete ... if you can raise the dead in your universe then having two gay soccer players live happily ever after and play soccer should be a piece of cake by comparison

Seeing how things have unfolded, I'm going to give the writers more credit than that ... thank goodness someone on that staff is reading something more than the daily ratings
there is a pervasive tendency (conscious or inadvertent) on the show to glorify the criminals and make the law enforcement appear gullible and less than competent <-- accepting that someone is dead without "gold standard" confirmation
makes one wonder if the writers have had altercations of their own with the "po-po" (urban meaning) and if this is their way of "sticking it to the man" / retaliating against the establishment with their pens instead of swords

anyway, the best way for a murderer to continue a reckless disregard for human life is to be presumed dead...revenge is a dish best served cold but when did killing in the name of love become a staple food?

Focussing on loss of love should not lead us to endorse loss of life...that's not only unpalatable but rarely (if ever) justified

He is afriad to be seen with Flaco,but look where he is sitting in the dark at the movies next to Flaco
I just love the way Flaco made his moves when he saw the fake girlfriend kissing his man,lalo pushed Flaco hand away that second time he could not handle his feeling,but the smark on Flaco face was priceless
