In the spoiler teasers for 2023, show producers mention over the year Ethan's relationship with Marcus will end with Ethan being "young, free and single."

Arthur spoilers for week commencing 30th January:
Arthur tells Laurel that his school’s LGBTQ History assembly has been cancelled, prompting her to make a call to the school, where she learns that one parent complained.
Jai, meanwhile, makes an insensitive comment which leaves Arthur worried that his stepdad is trying to get him to suppress his sexuality. Later, Laurel tells Arthur he can do his presentation at the assembly – but only when some parents have withdrawn their kids.
Marshall comes to Arthur’s defence and there is a charged moment between the two, as Arthur realises that Marshall actually is on his side. Arthur, however, tells the lad that if he’s not being honest with him then he needs to leave, but Marshall’s cool boy bravado is stripped away – and the two boys almost share a kiss.

Monday 6th February:  Ethan explains to Marcus and Naomi that Greg is trying to discredit the complaint. Unsure what to do about the injustice of it all, Ethan reveals that he’s considering dropping the investigation and quitting his job.
Naomi reveals to Marcus that she has an idea to help swing the scales of justice in Ethan’s favour. Naomi’s plan takes shape but looks set to fail as Nate refuses to be bait and Marcus voices concerns. But when Naomi stresses Ethan could lose his career, Nate agrees and heads off to the bar, catching Greg’s eye. Greg approaches and offers to buy Nate a drink – the plan is finally in motion.
With his phone recording, Nate is shyly standing by the bar with Greg as they flirt. Will the plan to honeytrap Greg work?

When a dejected Marcus arrives home from a failed date with Ethan, Naomi drags him away for a night of their own.
Marcus is appeased when Ethan assures him he does want them to find a place together. But he’s unaware of a shifty Ethan receiving a message from a mystery man. Later, Marcus is shocked to see Ethan getting into a stranger’s car.

"Marshall starts crying uncontrollably when Laurel calls dad Colin, as she comes to realise this is more than just teen rebellion. Colin surprises everyone, however, by hugging his son and saying all the right things, which leaves Laurel relieved. Arthur, however, isn’t best pleased with what his mum’s done, fearing that she’s made a huge mistake."

Spoilers for w/c 13th March: Jai warns Laurel about Marshall "Marshall stays with Arthur and his family after being disowned by his dad Colin. He's grateful for the support, but also wants to go back to school at Hotten Academy. The school makes it clear that Marshall can only return with the blessing of Colin, who withdrew him to keep him away from Arthur. Colin ends up giving his permission, but Laurel and Jai suspect that it's only because he wants his abuse of Marshall to stay under wraps.
During a private moment at home, Jai cautions Laurel to be wary of taking on responsibility of Marshall on a long-term basis, pointing out how it could impact their family. The couple are unaware that a devastated Marshall is listening in from the staircase."Marshall's dad tries to manipulate him "Colin comes to visit Marshall and apologises for disowning him over his sexuality. He expresses how much he loves Marshall and declares that it's time for him to come home, but he appears to be manipulating his son with his sudden u-turn. Marshall feels confused as Colin later bombards him with messages, begging for another chance."
