So when Aaron and his mum are involved in a car crash while he's at the wheel, who comes off the worse. Will this be his wake up call or will it tip him over the edge?

From Soaplife
Exclusive! Aaron kills again?! Jackson wanted to die but Chas doesn’t….So why is Aaron trying to kill her too?
The courts may have forgiven Aaron for helping end Jackson’s life but Aaron can’t forgive himself. He’s one very angry young man, lashing out at anyone and everyone who tries to help him and even self-harming. Diane’s given him a roof over her head at The Woolpack but can’t cope with his temper and says he has to leave. Carl threatens to call the police when he breaks into Mill cottage and Smashes the place up. And Hazel slaps him round the face when he says they’re both murderers…. Aaron’s on a self-destruct mission and Chas is worried sick, especially when she catches him running scalding water over a cut hand, clearly trying to hurt himself. “Chas is constantly trying to get through to Aaron” actress Lucy Pargeter tells Soaplife. “But it turns into quite an awful outburst between the two of them. They really have it out and she shouts at him” But getting into a car with him and then suggesting he go for counselling is a huge mistake. Aaron gets more and more angry and drives more and more recklessly. “Chas keeps goading and goading him, and in the state of mind he’s in he just goes faster and faster until it starts to scare her and he can’t cope with the speed of the car…..and they crash” reveals Lucy. Cain rushes to the scene of the accident and its clear Aaron is okay…..but Chas clearly isn’t. She’s unconscious with blood streaming down her face…. How will Aaron live with himself if he has two deaths on his conscience?

spoilers from DS
Mon 8 Aug As Aaron prepares to move into The Woolpack, there's tension between him and Paddy. Over at the pub, Diane is still not happy with Chas for letting Aaron move in as it wasn't part of their agreement to share the accommodation.
Later, when Aaron fronts up to Carl in the pub threateningly, Chas sticks up for him but Diane loses her patience and tells him to get out. In the back room, Diane tells Chas that it's not going to work - Aaron has to go.
Tue 9 Aug Chas is terrified that Aaron's going to lose the roof over his head. She fights for a few days' grace from Diane, but when Aaron flies off the handle it's too much for Diane.
Later, Aaron has another go at Carl, resulting in Diane throwing him out of the pub while giving Chas an ultimatum. Aaron tells Diane that it doesn't matter as he's leaving tonight. Aaron then breaks into Mill Cottage, smashing things up. Carl and Jimmy rush to stop and restrain him, before Carl makes a phone call, telling Aaron that he's calling the police. But actually he calls Chas...
Wed 10 Aug Chas tries to talk to Aaron about the break-in but gets nowhere. Aaron is then left conflicted when Hazel brings Jackson's things for him to look through. Later, he is sent home from work, unable to do his job as he has a cut hand. As the day continues, Chas finds Aaron running scalding water over his cut hand and it's clear that he wants to hurt himself even more.
In the pub, Carl tries to wind Aaron up about the burglary by threatening to call the police, and Aaron is tipped over the edge. The ensuing argument results in Hazel slapping Aaron around the face when he pronounces them both murderers. Once the working day is over, Diane tells Chas that she must take control of Aaron but softens towards her when Chas breaks down in tears.
Thur 11 Aug Diane suggests that Aaron should get counselling, but Chas doesn't get her hopes up. Chas and Carl argue about Aaron and she tips the dregs of a pint over him, but she is rocked when he tells her that Aaron doesn't have much of a chance with a mum like her.
Later, Chas goes to talk to Aaron at work and gets in the car with him. However, Aaron is angry and begins to drive recklessly. As he gets more emotional, Chas grabs the handbrake. Aaron loses control of the vehicle and the car swerves off the road into a ditch.
8pm The car and Aaron are both a complete wreck. Cain rushes to the scene of the accident, but what state will he find Chas and Aaron in?

This from The Emmerdaily fansite
One lad not feeling the love is Aaron. Instead of hurting anyone else, he now seems to be hurting himself.
If he wasn't already in enough emotional pain, now its physical as we've already seen him hurt himself by washing his injured hand. But it doesn't end there as the teenager struggles to cope with all his pent up aggression and starts to hurt himself.
All the indicators for a self harming storyline have been there for ages - remember how he "hit a wall and then a door" as a way to calm himself down after seeing Mickey on train crash night?
Can't see there being much for Aaron to smile about - not even the return of potential suitor Flynn

An interview with Danny Miller from one of the soap mags.
Danny Miller on grieving Aaron’s road to self-destruction.
How is Aaron coping since he helped Jackson to die? He’s angry and thinks he should have given Jackson more time to get used to being paralysed. He’s convinced that Jackson might have changed his mind if he’d refused to help. Aaron’s keeping all his pain inside and is self-harming as the only way of releasing his hurt.
Did his car crash with Chas not act as a wake up call for him? No, any normal person who’d put their mum through what he’s put Chas through would have realised he’d gone too far, but for Aaron there’s no limit to how far he’ll go to end his pain. He’s desperate to go to prison for what he’s done, but with the support network he’s got around him it’s unlikely he will be put behind bars. That’s why he decides to punish himself instead.
So, he visits Jackson’s grave…. He thinks that if he goes there and reflects on what’s happened, it might help the situation, but all it does is open up the wound again. It just triggers more anger in him.
Ashley also tries to comfort Aaron – is that awkward after him refusing to bury Jackson? No, Aaron can confide in Ashley. Although the fact that he wouldn’t bury Jackson plays on Aaron’s mind, it helps that he doesn’t know Ashley that well. It means he can talk with him when no one else can help.
Zac and Cain then decide to get a punch bag for Aaron….. Yes, Zac notices all this rage in Aaron and thinks its better for him to hit the bag rather than someone’s face! It definitely helps but most people would get boxing gloves to protect their hands. Aaron sees this as a way to release all of his pent up aggression, and doesn’t bother. He gives himself bleeding knuckles, but he doesn’t care – the pain masks what he’s feeling inside.
Chas notices his hands, but he claims it’s too much boxing…. She believes him and is just glad he is doing something he loves. What she doesn’t realise is that Aaron sees the bag as a good cover-up while the cuts are helping him deal with his internal pain.
Does he really think Jackson would want him to do this? He’s beyond caring to be honest. He’s so consumed with self-hate that no one else’s opinion really matters at this point.
But Aaron then collapses – do you think that there’s a limit to how far he’ll go before he finally gives up punishing himself? Not really – he puts the collapse down to the fact that he’s been working too hard and boxing too much, but secretly he’s enjoying what he’s doing to himself. He’s exhausted, but won’t stop until someone steps in. Hurting himself actually makes him happy and he’s content after self-harming.
Have you had to do a lot of research for this storyline? Yes, an expert from a self-harming charity came in to talk things through with me. She used to self-harm as well, so she really knows what she’s talking about, and it was great to get a first hand insight into just what’s going through people’s heads when they harm themselves. I’ve found this my most challenging storyline so far.

A little extra bit from the interview that I missed out....
Danny's hope.
Danny’s hoping to film some more light-hearted scenes: “The writers have given me some amazing storylines, but I’d like to see Aaron smiling. Maybe he could nick cars with Cain. I don’t want him to have a relationship – just be a bad boy again!”

Mon 5 Sept Meanwhile, when Zak witnesses Aaron fly off the handle while fixing a car, he reckons he knows what to do to sort him out - he's going to fix up his old punch bag so Aaron can take out his anger on it. Later, Zak catches Aaron hitting the punch bag on his own and knows he's made an impression. Zak tells Aaron that he's not the only one going through a difficult time at the moment and he should look out for others, just like they have been looking after him.
Wed 7 Sept Chas worries when she discovers Aaron left the house at dawn and is concerned when she discovers he's not at work. When Chas sees the punch bag, she's not impressed - worrying about what Aaron will turn into. Later, at Jackson's grave, Aaron is wrestling with his feelings while a concerned Ashley offers him words of comfort. Aaron wonders if Jackson would have felt differently a few months on, before he finds some relief from the emotional pain by scraping his knuckles along a gravestone.
Later, at work, Aaron hides his grazed knuckles from Cain and enjoys time with Zak on the punch bag as Chas watches. In the pub, Chas and Zak spot Aaron's knuckles, but he blames it on using the punch bag with no gloves. Putting his sore hand in disinfectant, Aaron holds it there to let the pain block everything else out…
Thur 8 Sept Chas urges Cain to trust Aaron again and asks Paddy to speak to Aaron about college.
Fri 9 Sept everyone is keen for Aaron to return to college for his mechanics course
