What the hell is wrong with Noah? Why is he not putting Luke's feelings ahead of Ameera's? Ugh.

Because he's a wuss? Because he's secretly not happy about being gay? Because he's got a thing for collecting strays?
On the AfterElton forum we'd discussed that Noah might be caregiver type personality. He certainly reacted most strongly to Luke when he was in the wheelchair and then he latched onto Ameera when she presented herself as a needy refugee.
As for his apparent indifference to how his thing (whatever it is) with Ameera affects Luke, I don't know. He does seem to not treat it as a serious problem, even though it obviously is. If Luke were a woman there's no way he'd be allowed to do this.
But then, if he were a woman there's no way anyone would have supported him in doing this. Indeed, it would have been considered almost supremely insulting and certainly no woman's family would have been willing to host a wedding for their daughter's boyfriend, marrying another woman, and then allowed them to shack up on premises even if it were supposedly chaste and for immigration purposes.
Obviously these characters are the product of the writers and the writers appear to think that gay relationships are very different from straight ones. They certainly seem to think that gays a more flexible about "symbolic" matters like marriage since they can't do it themselves. Noah cannot marry Luke, so he had a vacant "marriage slot" available to give to someone else.
Certainly Noah seems to be written to see it that way. He appears to regard his relationship with Luke as something quite apart from a relationship with a woman. Actually, he seems to have an expectation that Luke will just accept whatever he does. Unfortunately, it appears to not be a false expectation.

Since there's no Jake Silbermann thread, I guess it's fine to post this here. Here's what he said about being on that AE list I saw mentioned on the blog: "I'm speechless ... people must have been really searching for me to make it on there. [laughs] No, it's great that the fans have been so supportive. Hotness, whatever - It's great to be on any list!"But after seeing his modeling pics, including the one you posted, amber80, well, Jake, I think you being on any Hot List kinda makes sense. Seriously, the more I find out about this guy, the more I like him. Not just superficially, but some of the things I read from him as well. He's still very much growing as an actor, but he seems to have a really good personality. I even saw a video of him singing (and briefly rapping, lol) for a karaoke at some fan event. He seems to be so different, much more confident than the character he plays, which is great and showing of how much he needs to internalize to play it. Oh, and here's the link to the pics I'm talking about, if anyone hasn't seen them yet: www.dnamodels.com/ Just click on the men section and look for his name. I would post the pics, but knowing myself, I'd gladly leave it to someone less, uh, computer-challenged.  |

That was totally one of the things I noticed was that the few interviews that I have seen or read when he is not in character, you can tell he's very much more confident and self-assured than Noah. |

I can't stand the character of Noah right now (the writers have made him too stupid for me to like and/or want him for Luke), so I'm just going to enjoy looking at Jake's modeling portfolio.

Thanks, Macari for finding and posting the link to Jake's modeling agency. This is my favorite photo of Jake. I love him in the jacket (and the dark clothing).  Jake looks FABULOUS in the black t-shirt/ with the olive green background. Those tones make everything stand out about him (his alabaster skin color, the blue of his eyes and the rich ebony darkness of his hair).  He just looks hot in this photo.  I like how "long and lean" he looks in this one.  GUH!! Looking at those, I am still wondering why he did so badly on the blog poll GayTime had about who was cutest. He ought to post one of those! Jake S should do better the second time around.  |

Looking at those pics again puts a smile on my face on a gloomy day, thanks dkellergrl2001. I don't even watch the youtube clips of the show anymore at this point, so I just stand back and appreciate what's appreciable: Jake's understated hotness. Yup. |
