How brutal was Lenny's gay bashing in the bund? BTW.. emily exhausts me,,,, go somewhere else and take that voice wit ya. And dear Crying Lenny... all those tears are for the dam that's cracking and about to burst as his carefully constructed old life as the pitbull is about to shatter and new loving artistic Lenny with Carsten by his side will happen. But before that.. Lenny has to be an a major first class A-hole to Felix one "mo" time... But first... cue the drunken kissing..... HA

You got to admit that being gay bashed twice (if you count him being beat up by the gang as a bashing) must be chaos on Lenny's psychic. Oh I hope that he lets Carsten in to heal those wounds.

Actually, the bashing in the Bund was pretty much an ongoing psychologic and physical thrashing. He was made to feel isolated from everyone. At one point he was trapped in the shower and (I believe, although this is controversial) sodomized with a plumber's friend handle. The abuse culminated while on maneuvers when he was lured into a trap, beaten, thrown into a pit and urinated upon. This is an incomplete recounting but offers a flavor of what Lenny endured (or didn't endure as the case may be).

In the end, the beatings took their toll. The gentle, friendly, artistic Lenny was broken. Lenny built a wall around himself (an exoskeleton of sorts) of brutality and indifference. The way he chose to protect himself from the Bund thugs was to become one himself.

It's sad that so many victims become what was attacking them to survive the trauma.

Yes Lenny will come out of this hiding and self hate (hopefully) but he will never again be who he once was.

Am I mean when I gave a little cheer when I saw Carsten give Lenny a good punch in the nose in the spoiler pictures. I think Lenny deserved it after everything he has put Carsten through and I'm surprised Carsten hasn't done it sooner.

wow.. now thats a soap... gentleness and bliss one sec between them... and then POW... right in the kisser... In another desperate move to maintain his crumbling hetero life,, Lenny probably told Carsten that he had to tell Emily that carsten seduced him or something.... got him drunk and then took advantage of him.... That could enrage Carsten who showed Lenny such tenderness and care...

Actually, yeah, that would probably do it, Dusky. Bet you're right. Jeez, Lenny, what an ingrate. And Carsten made a point of spurning his advances during the night so as not to take advantage of the situation. Yeah, I think I would've had to lay him out too.

I can just imagine Lenny's response to being found together with Carsten by Emily. I am glad that Carsten does not continue being Lenny's whipping boy and gives him a dose of his own medicine. Go Carsten!
Lenny will go kicking and screaming out of the closet!

I also can't seem to muster any sympathy for Emily. She doesn't seem to care what turmoil Lenny is going through and only cares that her boyfriend does not want her. From the moment that she has shown up on screen, she has been the most whiny pathetic character.

Hey Dusky, I like your version but I would put money on it being even more awful, along the lines of "I'd be back with Emily by now, if it wasn't for you taking advantage of me when I was drunk, using the moment to touch me". That would make me lamp him (UK English for ya!)

It's so fabulous right now, Lenny is so animalistic and just reminds me of a wounded beast in a trap. He feels trapped, cornered, frightened and scared by everything that's happening to him and within him, and so his survival response is to lash out and hurt those who are trying hardest to help, just like an animal bites the person who tries to hep them out of the trap.

(and this is me not evening knowing the pre-history which, I gather, is horrid )

Whatever was said poured acid on a very raw nerve. Given the past opportunities for violent behavior and his demonstrated restraint, this must have been an extraordinarily demeaning comment. I agree with Dusky and Flippa, it was likely something questioning Reimann's motive for helping Lenny.

as i said, don't be too excited, those are out of context but imo its a nice tease what will happen sooner or later!
