I like that they are giving Lucas some closure with Edwin and by extension the fans of the couple get to see them one last time and have that clousre too. I think the string of one night stands was Lucas trying to ease his pain and loneliness some but making sure that there was no emotional attachment so as not to betray Edwin. He'd closed off his heart in that regard, the pain was too deep because the loss of Edwin was so sudden. And part of him did die with Ediwn.  I think this is leading Lucas and the fans to something else. In that while Edwin was Lucas' first love the next guy, prehaps this Bilal will be Lucas' great love, we'll see how it works out. Eye candy is nice, but they do have chemsetry together which if handled right could make the pairing more attrative to some. Personally at this point I just want to see Lucas happy. I think he has been through a lot and deserves at least for a while to be really happy. It won't be the same as with Edwin, because he'll never love anyone the way he loved Edwin. But then no one loves anyone the same way. We love different people for different reasons and that love grows in different ways. |

Elphaba tells Lucas that Bilal is gay and that Tim isn't gay. Drat! So it's definitely Bilal then.  I think that the dream encounter with Edwin and Elphaba's revelations will move Lucas to allow a relationship with the next man he encounters. Bilal is that next man, but I'm not convinced it's going to be something special or deep. Bilal will just be a guy who Lucas allows to become part of his life, I think. For a while. After Bilal's coming out drama is over, I'll be surprised if he's around much longer. If they had no use for Edwin after his story had run its course, they won't have any use for Bilal, IMO. |

I'm willing to give it a chance and see where the story with Lucas and Bilal goes. I'll admit a bit of shallowness when I say that I would prefer Lucas and Tim ;D. But it definitely looks like there's a big source of dramatic potential between Lucas and Bilal. That should make things interesting.  |

Are they ever going to cast well for Lucas well now though? It's interesting that first it wasn't Mike, and now it's not Tim, but Bilal. That could be the timing and a coincidence more than anything I suppose, and the storylines needed grieving time and new straight characters for Nina and now Rikki. I too doubt any Lucas/Bilal relationship is meant to be a big relationship, but it's just like he can't catch a hunk in the man department all of a sudden.
But maybe that's ok. He's not meant to be with any keepers right now. He's got to experience a relationship after Ed for the therapy, the rehabilitation. Just hope whatever he goes through with Bilal's issues leaves him with something profound and enriching to take from it.

The only thing I hope is that whatever happen with Bilal there is no violence involved. I'm more than sick and tired of Lucas being on the wrong end of a fist.

who cares about Tim or Bilal?!?! just bring back Edwin with some kind of magic... we have the witch  they look sooooo good together, especially Ed in his white suit while I was watching the shortie I started smiling like an idiot when I saw Edwin... I was really expecting Raynor to be in this episode!!! can't wait for the translation so now, Lucas has definitely said goodbye to his love and he's ready to move on... who's going to be the one? Thank you, Mark! |

I'm glad it's Bilal because I like him
and Lucas already with the two scenes
they shared. I want Lucas with a man
this time and not a tall boy who is cute. I
think Bilal is sexy and seems grounded
and confident enough to be with the beautiful,
vibrant and unpredictable Lucas. They could
be similar to Jack and Lorena. I have nothing
against Edwin but I'm glad that there is closure
to that relationship and Lucas will move on hopefully
to someone better. IMO

I definitely understood when Ed and Lucas said I Love You, and Bilal and the word gay being said together over and over. Elphaba and Ed are all but shovin Lucas at Bilal though, is the impression I got, and he's resolved to it it sounded like when he was with Maxime at the end. It's going to be a very WTF storyline, I'm sensing, with this Bilal thing.
Ferry's looking quite gaunt in the face now too, I noticed. Hope he's alright.

From what I understand from Ferry's tweets is that he works with a personal trainer and eats a lot of healthy food. He's doing that to remain fit. He's doing double duty after all. That's obviously going to have an effect on him (working late at Wicked, waking up early the next day to do GTST). Don't think we have anything to worry about.

BTW, there's a media/television blog (a reliable blog) that claims Marcus Sanders (Ludo's brother) comes back in the final episode of this season. Maybe Tim is connected to him? Maybe Tim is actually a Sanders? That might also explain why he's keeping an eye on Lucas and Nina... Marcus left Meerdijk with a daughter, Kimberly. The blog says she's also coming back. Kimberly was still a baby when they left. She was born in the same year as Rikki, so she's probably going to be around that same age. This blog is basically the only source that has this news so far, so I'm going to take it with a small grain of salt for the time being. |

Bilal being homophobic because he is a latent homosexual would also just Lucas's deep down instinct. It would be weird if this time Lucas instinct is wrong and that Bilal unlike Edwin is not in fact gay. |

At the end of the episode Maxime asks if it was a nice dream. Lucas says he doesn't really know what it was. But the whole "dream" was about Lucas having to look at things differently. So I assumed that Bilal being gay is something he already knew in the back of his mind.

Just saw today's episode and although I didn't understand much, Bilal and Lucas seem to have great chemistry! Tim went to the Sanders house today, wonder what that was about? I think he asked to see Lucas, even though he knew Lucas was with Bilal. Probably just to eavesdrop. Also, Bilal seems to be religiously Muslim, so I think we have another Syed story unfolding. HAHA

Tim is a mysterious character who's watching several characters. During the summer break you can download an app. Every week you find out more about who Tim is and what he's doing in Meerdijk. They call it transmedia storytelling. You won't need the app to understand the story, but it's an extra layer to the story. I think that's very cool.  |

On tomorrow's episode Lucas runs into Bilal at Lorena's. He also sees a guy named Arjan (they had a one night stand recently). Lucas kisses Arjan to get a reaction from Bilal.  But this is not the only reaction he gets. One of the other customers doesn't appreciate the fact that two guys are kissing in public. Lucas then asks what he's doing at a beauty salon. ;D When it looks like there's going to be a fight it's Bilal who prevents things from getting out of hand. Lucas sees the fact that Bilal wanted to protect him as a sign. Later Lucas and Lorena run into Bilal again at De Koning (he's waiting there for a friend). Bilal asks if they're following him. When Lucas directly asks if Bilal is gay he gets very angry. When Bilal's friend arrives he quickly leaves.  |

I guess the only way to create drama is to have a coming out story. Well, other than that psycho Marco. I haven't watched GTST since Edwin died, I guess I might come back to watch this unfold.

It can't be that. It's too soon. The truth is that we don't even know if Bilal is gay (only the dream secuence, but that can be just Lucas mind playing games).
I'm in the josean situation, i didn't watch the show (even way before Ed's death), but i liked the last couple of episodes. I jsut miss Lucas
