There's a mini interview with him in El País Magazine (the sunday magazine of El Pais). He talk about popularity and his role on FoQ (he thinks that there's room to develop more lesbian characters on tv apart of the stereotypes), but nothing about future projects (this mini interviews are not exactly informative, nothing more than a couple of questions)

The commentary over that interview is really homophobic. I know I was warned about homophobia being prevalent in Russia, but this is truly ridiculous. Why bother interviewing the guy(s) just to make this crappy newspiece about them? Poor Javier and Ilya and all the Russian gays.

I didn't know he was a theatre director, but he is. He is the director of a musical called La llamada (the call).
By the way, he was one of the 50 more important gays for the newspaper El Mundo.
I didn't know he was out but with El Mundo you never know, because as far as i know Elena Anaya (she is an spanish actress, she is in Justin Timberlake's video Sexy Back) never talked about her sexuality and she is on that list (i really find curious how they didn't care to out some people but are very careful to not doing it with others)
Edit: Well it seems he is totally out, or at least that's what appear in wikipedia, the codirector of the musical is his boyfriend (who is an actor too)

I don't remember he saying a word about his sexuality during FoQ, he was supposed to be Úrsula's boyfriend, or that's what the press say, but he never confirmed that.
Úrsula is his best friend, there are a lot of pics with her, they seem to really like each other, but i doubt they really dated.
There are some pics of them during gay pride that were a little reveling because she was with him and her supposed new boyfriend (who was his boyfriend of Física o química during a while). In my opinion it was one of the cases when press think a couple can sell magazines and promoted them as couple, and they never really care about it (Javi was 16 when he started on Física o química)

And it's curious because i didn't hear anything about the musical till yesterday, but now i find it everywhere.
They were promoting the musical on tv this afternoon. It seems it's one of the successes of the year, it started as an off show made for fun, and now is in a bigger theatre and they are going on tour.
They benefit that the main character of the play is played by Javier Ambrossi's (Javi's boyfriend) sister, and she is one of the actress of the moment here in spain, she won the concha de plata in San Sebastian festival and the Goya (our oscars) to the best new actress

Both javis (they are known that way) are on the El mundo list of most important gays.
It's curious how most of Física o química actors were able to make a name and work without the typical bad times after a hit show (when you were a newbie).
Javi had a totally different aproach because he barely did episodic aparitions as actor, but he had to big hits (both with his boyfriend) in theatre and online series
The film adaptation of their play will be released on fall

This weekend is the premiere of the film adaptation of the theatre play. La llamada was one of the biggest and most surprising hits of the last years and there are a lot of hype around the film.
Right now they are everywhere, they are even be teachers in the new season of Operación triunfo (which comes back after a lot of years), ot is a talent show similar to American idol.
And by the way, Ambrossi ask him to marry him recently, so there'll be a weading (but i don't know when)
