Oh it was in plenty of gossip magazines, but they both clearly said on the occasion of their latest videochats, that they were not dating and had never dated. They are just very close friends. It's the whole FoQfamily effect Adrián was talking about last night during his radio interview.

oh I see. Well that's too bad, they'd be cute together. I do love that the cast is so close. Question, since I can tell you're a FoQ expert and I'm just a newbie. What grade are they in? What's the timeframe... because it's been like 7 seasons and nobody has graduated yet... I'm assuming. Is it like over one school year?

All the students are doing a two-year programme (for 16 to 18 y.o.) called Bachillerato, that will allow them to take "selectividad", the Spanish equivalent of SATs, at the end of the second year. The "old" generation (currently Yoli, Fer, Alma and David) finished their first year at the end of Season 3 and their 2nd year at the end of Season 6 (last December, in fact). They are all repeating that second year, for various reasons (actually Fer is not really repeating; he graduated his Bachillerato, but the grades he got on his Selectividad were not good enough to let him choose the University career he wanted. So he's sitting in as an "auditor" or free student). The other students (Daniela, Teresa, Jon, Salva, Román, Álvaro) were in their first year before, they finished it normally at the end of Season 6, and they are now starting their second year.
So for the first time since the end of Season 4, everybody is in the same class/form again, i.e. second year of Bachillerato.
The other thing to understand is that each Season is more or less like a trimester, so each school year takes up 3 Seasons. Season 7 is thus the beginning of a new school year.

Well, simply that they've all grown to be very close, that, of course, once the show is over, things change, people don't see each other as much as they used to, but certain bonds remain the same.
Must have been peculiar last season with Israel Rodríguez playing Borja. Israel is one of Adrián's best friends from before, and probably quite close to Javier too, since he apparently dated Úrsula.

Ohhhhh gotcha. That clears it up. Thanks for the awesome explanation! Well, one learns from watching this show. I certainly knew nothing about this a few months ago... To give a few more details regarding the other 3 "old" guys, that come from the end of Season 6: - Yoli flunked all her topics at the end of the last school year, so she is really repeating. - Alma had passed but her grades were not good enough for the scholarship to a US college she wanted to apply to. So she decided to repeat the year, and in order to be eligible to do so, she blackmailed Marina into lowering her grades, thus failing her. That business with the scholarship is still very much with her in this new season. - To everybody's surprise, including his own, David passed all subjects, except philosophy where he was failed for trying to cheat (asking for Fer's help) during the final exam. He was just too nervous, and didn't trust himself with succeeding, whereas thanks to Fer's support, he'd done it with all other subjects. Marina originally wanted to fail Fer, but David protested and insisted he was the only one to blame. That was in 6x11. Then in 6x12, after finding out he had passed everything else, he went to talk to Marina, to beg her to give him an opportunity to take the exam again; not so much for him, but to prove "the people that cared for him" he was worthy of their care. She relented. But it seems with all the mess that got started in that episode, David never retook that exam. So he is repeating for just that one subject. That means he keeps his final grades for all the other subjects, and is basically an "auditor" or free student like Fer, except in philosophy. Once he passes that, at the end of the school year, he can take "selectividad" just like Fer.

There has been lots of fun stuff coming out of @javviercalvo over the last week. For a while, what caught my attention was the announcement that Fer...er... Javi was taking his first driving lessons. The way this was described was definitely out of some of the most hilarious pages of FoQ. But no one has died, yet.
Then this evening, Javier mentioned that Gutxi Bibang, the singer of Basque Indie band Zenttric, yes that one
yes, you know, that song
is a good friend of his (why am I absolutely not surprised by this? ;D) and that the band has a new single out, Lady Gaga, and he posted this teaser
You can listen to the whole song there:

Then again lately, he's been posting pictures of himself when he was young ;D I think this one is really fun. There he is with his friend Pepino Marino (who's now in NYC, I guess), when they were young and DJs ( ;D), in those wonderful days of yore. To a follower's tweet who felt that the end of FoQ was the end of adolescence, Javier responded, "It's the end of my adolescence too".

It's funny, the song for me is really connected to the original QaF, the Channel 4 series: there is that great moment at the beginning of the second episode.
It starts at 0:28 and it's damn well unforgettable. ;D

Javier Calvo confirmed earlier there would be a party on Thursday night to celebrate the wrapping up of production for FoQ and he joined this interesting picture:

it's so sad. However i don't know how many times i saw this behind the scenes for the last chapter of season 6. An important episode for us Ferdivistas, right? I can imagine how the FoQ's actor feel in that moment. For them is a great era that is arrived to the end

Since Javier reached and went over the 20,000 mark on Twitter, there'll be twitcam this weekend, on Friday or Saturday (so it could probably be Sunday as well ;D) in tandem with Úrsula Corberó, live from Barcelona.

Earlier today, before the videochat, Javier linked to this FB page www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_127186747361380for the group " Indignados por la muerte de Fer en Física o Química" (Indignant over Fer's death in FoQ). His good friend Aida Domenech has added him to it. This of course confirms what was rather clear from the videochat. That Javier Calvo has problems with his gay character dying. Let's see if this goes any further.

As anticipated, Javier Calvo is spending the weekend in Barcelona. And as promised, he'll be doing tomorrow a twitcam jointly with his good friend Úrsula Corberó. Here they are, obviously getting ready to tackle the challenge (Javier has been hitting the gym lately ) The official version is that they'll be doing a special jokes edition. I sort of suspect that another reason is that Úrsula has already mastered the technology of doing a twitcam, whereas Fer, Javier, I mean, hasn't. Anyway, let's hope they announce when they plan to go live some time in advance. ;D
